She’s purchased 3 other cars over the last 30 years but refuse to get rid of her Acura. She calls it her antique. It’s still runs very well & she drives it occasionally. She always talks about all stares she gets especially from men admiring the car. Im going to send her this video. She will love it!
This video is so nostalgic for me. I had a '94 LS automatic in dark green. I loved that car. I was the second owner, bought it in 1999 with 40k miles on it. Some elderly woman owned it before me and it was immaculate. I kept it for about 3 years and stupidly sold it. I wish I would have kept it, I would still be driving it around!
Incredible. Cant believe they were able to mount the engine so far back. I heard the original Honda S2000 concept (SSM) was going to have a VTEC version of this engine.
I have been the proud owner of for Acura Vigor‘s! And at the present time I have a 1994 Acura Vigor GS which is in almost like new condition. I love the automatic transmission. I bought this car five years ago up in Berkeley California and it was advertised as “amazingly like new inside and out and certainly it was I’ve had to do nothing to it nearly everything works perfectly and it now has 142,000 miles. I intend to drive this car another 5 to 10 years. I will then go most likely electric. I am 85 years old although I still work as an ophthalmologist full-time and have another 20 years of research I need to do. My Acura takes me aroundRialto California in comfort!
Another one of my favorites of your collection. The 5 cylinder engine is a rare one. These cars are getting about as rare as hens teeth. Good or bad condition (mostly bad) I like cars that have a Japanese look to them and this one definitely does. Really enjoying the tours Tyson!
Awesome! More to come, and thanks as always for tuning in. Yeah this car was marketed as the Accord Inspire in certain regions. Pretty interesting model!

I had every intention of buying one someday but by the time I could afford one, it had evolved into the TL and I ended up buying one of those instead and have owned nothing but Acuras since.

I get that a lot. It's cool to finally see these cars becoming appreciated. A couple of years ago, a Jalopnik article called my collection a very "normal" car fetish... as in, most people don't choose to collect everyday cars like a Vigor or Legend. But I did!
omg I loved those cars! My late neighbor used to drive a black one, and then his widow drove it for a while before and after he passed. They were good cars back in the day! His was black with a tan interior. Automatic transmission but still a solid car. I really like this one in green with a stick!
@@TysonHugie my guess is that his wife probably gave it to one of their kids. I know she gave her son the Cadillac Catera that her husband was driving up until he passed. As far as I know he's still driving it today. Haven't seen the vigor in a long time.
Wow, what a rare find! The car is immaculate. This looks like the 1990-93 Accords. While the glass on the c-pillar is pretty odd, few cars on the road looked like it.
Nice car! I didn't know the US got this engine in this particular shape car, I had a Japanese import Rafaga with the 5 cylinder years ago. It's a nice engine in an interesting layout for sure. When I had mine, I had just gotten my license, so I put an open K&N filter on it and liked to imagine the sound was like a Audi with the 2.2 turbo engine.
Love this.. this is what being a car guy (or girl) is all about. The Vigor is a great little car, maybe more today than when it came out. It doesn't matter that it's 'old', It doesn't matter there most of these are ratted out, neglected hoopties. Doesn't matter that you could likely afford something newer or 'nicer', It's about stewardship more than ownership, and taking care of that thing to the best of your abilities. Its not about flashiness or status, 26 and still better than most new cars today. You are a boss. cheers
I still have a pristine 110K metallic blue-green/purple that changes with the light, so cool, with the tan interior. Still looks new, no rust (never driven in snow and rarely rain) new timing belt just recently. Fast, torquey and handles great. SO cool to see her on the road again, no one has a clue what it is. Great classic lines I think, elegant yet sporty. Got a great deal privately off a two year lease, looked and smelled new. Not suitable for families, no back seat and limited trunk space which is probably why they had limited appeal. They bought a Pathfinder. VIGOR is a personal coupe, backseat is for groceries or small kids only. The five cyl is quite fast and super-smooth, tons of torque and easily chirps out. Beautifully crafted engine if maintained, typical Honda of the era. Manual lifter adjustments required at intervals, another quirk. NOT the most trouble-free car for only 110K, actually the most demanding despite my fussy care. Starter ('medusa') switch failed, fuel pump relay failed, door alarm switch needed cleaning, a temp sensor, distributor o rings leaked, passenger window regulator issues so I'd flick the window down a bit while it closed then up again just like a Mercedes 'feature' only manual. Random fails on the highway, slowly stop running with an under hood gas smell, likely something with the rails but I just wait a while and it would start. Comfortable seats, AWESOME sound system, love the sunroof which still works flawlessly and no leaks.Nothing today looks like it and I expect lots of conversation at gas stops and parking lots. Cool, rare vehicle. Still love it.
After buying my beautiful Brown and 1994 Acura Vigor GAS from Berkley it was in such perfect condition I thought I had to buy another one to drive daily so I bought sight unseen a 1993 Acura Vigor GS green color from Kansas City and had it delivered side unseen. I then spent about $2000 on the green Acura Vigor but then gave it to a grandson since I realized I would be using the brown one daily. They really are such wonderful cars with plenty of power from the five cylinder engines!
Thanks for sharing. Sounds like you have really had good experiences with your Vigors. Would love to see some photos and videos of them on your channel.
Beautiful car bro! Richmond, VA...I was 14...I still remember when these first came out, they were super slick. A buddy at the time, his family got one. Yours looks like a sweetheart.
As you mentioned, parts for the car are hard to find. Had the windshield replaced on mine last year. Glass shop seemed to think they got the last glass and trim clips for that car in the country. Also replaced radiator this year. Factory two-row core radiators are apparently unavailable, but the single-row seems to work fine. Also replaced the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder last year. The master is still available, but it is a huge pain to change due to the location of the upper left nut (as viewed from the cabin). The slave is no longer available. But the slave cylinder from a '87-'91 Mazda RX-7 Turbo is a very close fit. Same bore size (3/4"). Approximately same bore distance from the clutch fork. Left-side engine mount. Bleeder in correct location (even same thread pitch and diameter on banjo bolt.) The mounting ears require a little modification, due to the Vigor's having offset mounting holes. IIRC, top hole of mounting tab needs some ovalling, and bottom hole requires slotting. But it's worked for over 6 months now flawlessly. If the one I have wasn't a stick, I would have sold it ages ago. Better than 30 mpg on the highway. And pretty torquey for a little 2.5 liter.
After I got rear ended in mine , I went to a 95 Acura legend Gs in midnight blue . Then my brother pick up a integra gsr in similar color . These cars were so under rated .I can go on forever about the 90s cars . Damn I miss this car so much 😭😭😭😢😢😢. It was one of them car that got me thru my teens and I was mobbin in it . Great car! My Dad used to own 1992 Honda Inspire which shares the same engine and the same chassis as Honda/Acura Vigor. I love how Honda's 2.5 L 5 cylinder engine revs up. I love Acura from the early to mid-'90s.
I love the quirky little things Acura has done, I didn’t even know this car existed until today, I’m an RL owner (luckily I got a gem too), and those are getting up there in age, but price as well now that they’re not around as much. I’m holding onto mine and restoring it, but I’m also personalizing it in a way that’ll make it more luxurious than before. I hope to see this thing around at car shows when I take my RL to tour the country.
I still remember the car commercials for this car. In one, the car drove by a group of people speaking German. They were wondering if it was a German car and one guy replied: Nine, Acura. Or something like that.... :)
Great video! This is such a beautiful car and color combo, and you really showcase it well here! I love the drives through the corporate locations and that mural. Maybe easier to do in the current situation with less people around?
An excellent car. i had a 92 Vigor automatic until I wrecked it (like a fool) in 2008. It had 180,000 miles and ran like new - the best car i ever had!
Beautiful. Adam's first car was a 97 or 98 (I can't remember which) TL with the inline 5. I really wish we would have kept it. It sold for more than we paid.
My older brother had a white 92, auto trans and cloth interior. I bought a beige 94, auto with leather interior like yours. Definitely regret selling it
My friend still has his 1993 Vigor, owned originally by his dad, then passed down to him in the mid-2000's. He has a couple of other new-ish vehicles but still has this as his grocery getter. It's a quirky Honda...but that thing is fun to drive! I only wonder why they made the rear seat a little too tight on leg room for adults, but with that being said, I would have loved to have owned one of these when they came out.
This was my first car back in 94. I had a fully loaded GS automatic, in a black cherrie color. Don't remember the exact name of the color, but it was badass. The interior was a saddle tan. That 5 cylinder engine was pretty quick
@@TysonHugie thanks man, I never could remember that color name, but it really made the car. I smoked the tail lights and tinted the windows with limo tint, and put a nice set of fittipaldi 5 star rims with a nice dish. That car was badass, I loved the leather headliner too, and the speakers by the overhead lamps. Unfortunately, I let my ex fiance take it to work one day and it was the last time I saw it in one piece. Such a shame, it was only 3yrs old with 18 thousand miles when it was totaled by a garbage truck
My mom had a '94 Canterbury Green Legend back in the day. Most solid, consistent car I've ever had my hands on. Drove no different from new til 205k mi
I had a Blue auto , man did that get you RESPECT back in the day , cops thought I was some kind of Wall street guy , nice as hell to me when I was pulled over....lol
I had a '92 GS 5 spd. Phenomenal car. Let me ask you..did you have to replace the distributor shaft seal? From my understanding that engine had isssues leaking in that area. Mine leaked directly on the exhaust. Not a big deal, but because the engine is longitudinally, it makes it difficult to get to. It was right against that firewall. Also, the instrument pod is the same or dang near close to the NSX, just missing volts and oil pressure. That car will do 68 MPH in 2nd gear before fuel cutoff. Basically, the Vigor was like the Legend and the Integra had an offspring. 😉
Crap framed doors are piss easy to break into , you grab a corner of the frame door jam a wedge in it and with a pole with a fishing hook on the end you can slide it in to pull the door lock, any car out there is actually piss easy to break into
I remember test driving a 1992 when they came out. The GS had the radio with the digital sound processor which was unique at that time and I don’t believe the CD player was standard issue (at least in 1992 it would’ve been a dealer installed option). I had negotiated a pretax price of $22,600 for a 5 speed but I ended up buying a Nissan Maxima SE instead. Love the car, it looks new! Never realized how lucky we were in those days that so many cars were available in stick. Ended up trading the maxima for a 4 door Legend LS with a 5 speed.
I have a 92 GS Manual transmisson in Champage body with black interior. We have had it since 2005 living in denver colorado. In the last few months our Cylinder Assembly, Slave went out and I have been searching for one since. FML.
@@TysonHugie yeah it's impossible to find I've been searching for a slave that is similar but due to the screw mounting position and input hose&bleeder screw configuration in relation to the piston it's very difficult to find a match.

I swear this guy has a time machine!😳😎👌Fantastic!
Haha, I wish! Thanks for watching!
Sounds awesome. The RL is a very solid ride!
I had one back in the day. I wish I had never traded it in! That car was so reliable and unique.
Totally, these are great cars!
A true time capsule, just spectacular.
Thanks, I totally agree!
I still remember the car commercials for this car. In one, the car drove by a group of people speaking German. They were wondering if it was a German car and one guy replied: Nine, Acura. Or something like that.... :)
Yes! It's right here, haha. ruclips.net/video/W-aqHiZ1jjs/видео.html
Great video! This is such a beautiful car and color combo, and you really showcase it well here! I love the drives through the corporate locations and that mural. Maybe easier to do in the current situation with less people around?
Yes! I have had way more open access to business parks and scenic backgrounds during lockdown time. I definitely took advantage of it. Thanks Chris!
An excellent car. i had a 92 Vigor automatic until I wrecked it (like a fool) in 2008. It had 180,000 miles and ran like new - the best car i ever had!
They were definitely well-engineered vehicles
Beautiful. Adam's first car was a 97 or 98 (I can't remember which) TL with the inline 5. I really wish we would have kept it. It sold for more than we paid.
I pulled a '20 VALVE' engine badge off a 2.5 TL at the junkyard last weekend, it looked to be in better shape than mine!
What a beautiful car!
I believe this came out of Japanese production and was called the Accord Inspire in Japan.
You are absolutely right!
0:02 Legend convertibles were a thing?
Haha a few were converted when new. That one is a 1988 owned by my friend Chuck. Pretty cool!
My older brother had a white 92, auto trans and cloth interior. I bought a beige 94, auto with leather interior like yours. Definitely regret selling it
They are pretty sweet cars!
I remember riding in one of these as a very young kid maybe 12 years old. Front Wheel Dr. burnouts all day long from family friend.
Haha, I haven't tried that with mine yet.
Agreed on the comment about space. Thanks for watching!
@@TysonHugie You're welcome! Your car is in *phenomenal* condition for the year. Cheers!
This was my first car back in 94. I had a fully loaded GS automatic, in a black cherrie color. Don't remember the exact name of the color, but it was badass. The interior was a saddle tan. That 5 cylinder engine was pretty quick
Oh yeah Royal Plum!
What a great car. Immaculate condition
Thank you!
Loved the 90's. Love Hondas. Buddy of mine had a black one.
Nice! I wonder if it's still on the road.
My mom had a '94 Canterbury Green Legend back in the day. Most solid, consistent car I've ever had my hands on. Drove no different from new til 205k mi
Thanks for sharing!
Why does the Acura Vigor look so much bigger and wider than the 2003 Acura TL?
I don't think it is, but would have to check dimensions.
@@TysonHugie The Acura vigor is 190.4" long and the Acura TL is 192.5"
This car is clean!! Very nice... congrats
Thanks!
Such a cool car
Thank you, I miss it
@@TysonHugie i literally couldn’t find a single one that’s in decent condition for over a year!
Awesome car, I had a 1993 vigor. White with black leather. Miss it. 😔
They are getting to be pretty rare!
I had a Blue auto , man did that get you RESPECT back in the day , cops thought I was some kind of Wall street guy , nice as hell to me when I was pulled over....lol
What ended up happening with yours?
Agree on that! I think mine did have a leak around the distributor when I first got it.
I owned many many cars, this one is my all time favorite.
It is definitely pretty special
Beautiful. I found a 94 GS in Champagne color with 74k miles on it
That sounds like an amazing Vigor
man such a beautiful car, taken good care of it! dont see too many now adays.
Couldn't agree more!
My father had one in that same color!! I was soo in love!!!
Great memories. What happened to it?
He traded it in! I wish I knew what he had at the time, I would’ve taken it
Cool name bro
Gorgeous color!! Excellent condition
Thank you!
I had a Honda Prelude in GREAT condition until someone ran in the back of it. I miss you Prelude.
Sorry to hear that about your Prelude!
Had one like this, best AC ever!!!
It does have great air!
that car still look good
Thank you!
The only downfall of the frameless doors was how easy it was to break into these cars.
That's probably true.
Tyson Hugie it is true of any frameless door. What you have to do is set it up so the automatic lock button is disabled when the ignition is off. 😉
Crap framed doors are piss easy to break into , you grab a corner of the frame door jam a wedge in it and with a pole with a fishing hook on the end you can slide it in to pull the door lock, any car out there is actually piss easy to break into
Enjoy watching this amazing classic
Thanks Manny!
WoW!!! Just WoW!!!
Thanks for watching!
Fun fact: the Canadian model of the Acura Vigor GS came with heated seats and heated mirrors
I believe it!
I’m about to buy one of these, what clutch would fit into it
I'm not sure, to be honest. I'm pretty sure OEM is discontinued but you might see if Exedy makes a kit. I know they do for Legends.
Sounds like you have owned some pretty awesome sport sedans.
@@TysonHugie not nearly as impressive as the collection you have. I enjoyed a couple of your video's already. Keep it coming!
I Looooooove it 🤜💥🤛💕💕💕💕
Thanks for watching!
I had this same exact car. I LOVE it!
I miss this one!
Love the peanut butter interior. What a find. Cant believe anyone would trade a cream puff like this into a Subaru dealer.
Haha, I know, maybe she needed AWD for the Colorado winters.
I have a 92 GS Manual transmisson in Champage body with black interior. We have had it since 2005 living in denver colorado. In the last few months our Cylinder Assembly, Slave went out and I have been searching for one since. FML.
I wish I knew a good resource for that part
@@TysonHugie yeah it's impossible to find I've been searching for a slave that is similar but due to the screw mounting position and input hose&bleeder screw configuration in relation to the piston it's very difficult to find a match.
My God, that's CLEAN!
I miss it! Sold it a couple years ago
