- Two Door Cinema Club perform What You Know at Reading Festival 2011 on the red Button. Found this in the recordings i made last year. Great gig, pretty mental if I remember right.

When the crowd sings the riff you know you made it
José Quintero I’m pretty sure if you’re playing at reading you already know you’ve made it😂
ikr omg 😔
True 🙅♂️
The best example is of Franz Ferdinand at T in the Park 2014

This is in the UK, so maybe it could be a football country thing. In Parkway Drives documentary "Home is for the Heartless" they talk about how their south american fans sing the melodies of their songs like football chants.
2024 Anyone ?

2010? That's old? Lmmfao
13th Evergreen I mean the songs over 10 years old now..... that’s old enough
Timeless exactly
In this song you can appreciate the importance of the bass
RealisticLevel yea the bass player is siiiick!
Totally. There can be no great pop song without a strong bass line
@@vanderark89 Wouldn't call it a pop song. Rather inde/inde rock.
@@christianborg4006 Do you think? It’s just a label anyway a goog song is a good song. How about we settle on indie/pop!
I try not to label music as it creates boundries but I suppose you have to call it something. Take it easy
@@vanderark89 haven’t thought about it like that.. i Can see you have a point. Take Care man :D

@Nicholas Cunliffe iphone 3gs and the Galaxy. You've been indulged enjoy.
@Nicholas Cunliffe Decent is relative to the time period you're talking about. You asked what decent phones were around then and those two were considered the best ones at the time and were amazing technology as far as phones go. Your statement wasnt which phone shoots 1080p lol.

Exactly
Hearing this song only makes me wanna go back in time and appreciate being young with no worries and responsibilities again :(
Hey Death that’s the whole point of being young, you don’t feel the need to appreciate having no responsibilities because you have no idea what that even means!
@@aidaish188 true lol

Who fucking cares ? Really, this is the most pointless detail ever. If people want to remember a special moment in their life they can now capture it through a tiny, yet useful, device and live it again whenever they want. Why are you against it ? What makes you so fucking superior to those people who just want to appreciate life ?
This kind of comment is so pathetic, you have a smartphone, it takes great pics and videos, JUST USE IT, that's why it was made with a camera in the first place.

You know the tune's good when the crowd sings even the riff!
One of my favourite songs ever. They nailed it!
whoever made that riff was legendary
this makes me cry, i miss normality we took it for granted
I work in a high-end hotel restaurant in Seattle. I have this coworker who looks like he is from the hood. Tall, built like a beast, covered in tattoos, hair net and deep voice. He looks intimitading.
One day when I played this this song while I was doing dishes, I turn around to see him grooving to this while cleaning the the kitchen area. When it was over, he asked me who the band was and song name.
Now, when he is having a bad day, I will play this song for him and he instantly smiles and dances.
Almost a decade later and this song is still a British anthem; it’s up there with Mr Brightside x
And neither of the are from Great Britain.
Daniel de Burgh yea but they own the Northern part of our country. So *TECHNICALLY* they are British.
The Killers are from the USA
Daniel de Burgh Northern island is in the United Kingdom of Great Britain mate
MCFan96 yes but Britain were the country who first popularised they’re music. They often say they feel more British than American
Coolest ginger in the world?
Nope, Josh Homme has that title and will for a very long time.
I never thought of him as a ginger. But yeah, you are right! Songs For The Deaf is one of my favourite albums.

Ron Howard!

0:45 the crowd gives me goosebumps everytime...
This is one of the most epic live videos of all time. From how good the band sounds, the crowd going wild, black suit guy, the storm troopers.. it’s perfect.
The stormtroopers even know a hit when they see it 😂
I just found out about this song in 2022 and it proves that 2010-2012 was the golden era of music for me.
Same here, still is, and still better than most of the songs we got in these few years. And yet I'm always the odd one out for always liking old music (old as in older than 5 years)
Indie rock really peaked in the early 2010s
2:17 thats a rough fall lmfao

It looks like the crowd is having soooo much fun!! I’m jealous 😭
I'd like so much to be in that crowd. Amazing
I miss festivals but I really miss when festivals had energy like this back in like 2008-2014 I miss it so bad. I hope that once the pandemic clears we have this energy return.

Leeds
ahaha yep
Is no one talking about the bass in this song I fucking love the bass lines in this song ❤️2:09
now thats a crowd man /... fckk awosome
One of the best things about the UK is that the people enjoy music so much. Their life revolves around it. And the crowd is absolutely amazing. There was a time when British bands would go to the US to make it big. But I would say that you've not made it as a band if you are not accepted and appreciated by the British crowd. Because they are like the absolute authority of good music. They produce it and they recognize it.
That's so fcking cool and the people so enjoy to the music without take a video and play the phone, that was so wow, I really miss that moment😇😇😇
Miss these days so bad
man two door cinema club takes me back to my university days, downloaded tourist history on torrents, so many good memoires drinking and smoking with friends from my dorm, great sound track, felt like a completely different time before proper online streaming, not many bands have this kinda sound anymore, if you're looking for music that sounds similar you should check out Lonely Gimmick Grumpy days, one of the best new songs I've heard in a while with this kinda happy indie vibe
Thanks for sharing your story!
I'll take a listen at what you've suggested :)
Like the song u shouted out
I would give anything to experience this
One of the best indie sounds of a generation.
Re watching this now I’ve got my tickets🤣
this is one of those songs that makes you feel nostalgic even though you’ve never heard it before
honestly, I want to live in this video
Watching this in 2021, its making me sooooo sad! I miss concerts 🥺
It makes me cry knowing that everything was so simple back then and life was good with nice summers, no phones and Society was amazing
I wouldn't say amazing, same year as the London riots.
Yeah. We live in a society. One man read book, one thousand watch boob on screen.
Seeing this crowd just brings me so much joy, I bet this was one hell of an experience
anyone here who's just booked Leeds hoping that is like this
One of only like 4 good sets at the festival
Yep that’s exactly why I’m here 😭
Best performance ever , the guy who plays the drums amazing energy and presence
I was in the crowd for this, it was my first Reading festival when I was 16. Don’t really remember much of this set apart from a guy was in front of us with a group of his friends and he kept farting. They smelt so bad and his friends explained how he was refusing to take a shit because he didn’t like festival toilets. This was the Saturday they played and they had been there since the Thursday. Let’s just say when you go to a festival all you live on is booze and under cooked burgers so you could only imagine.
Bro 😂😂
I’m actually crying at this video , the momentum the vibes what a time to be alive
Is it just me or is his voice more beautiful when he sings live?
Legit only heard of this song today...where have I been the past decade? 😅😅
good old days
Those nostalgic feelings made me cry
Fucking can’t wait

this performance was just amazing, anyone here in 2019???
Still watch this from time to time, hands down my favourite live performance to watch, chills every time
when I feel nostalgic, I always come here. that is, all day
watching this in the middle of a pandemic in 2020 is torture! I want my world imperfect, affectionate and crowded back. 😢

Ah yes, 2011 were the good old days. Best times of my life now my life is shit. Wish I could go back.
Reading 2011 was fucking amazing i must say, you probally cant see me but i was near one of the speakers at the back left with my big brother who took me and got me into this type of music indie/alternative/indie rock, and ive never been more grateful it was fucking wild
Damn... as I do when I take interest in a particular song or artist, I youtube their live performances... Dude sounds just as good live as he sounds on the radio... Pretty damn excellent 👏
In a few weeks I will get time
To realise it's right before my eyes
And I can take it if it's what I want to do
I am leaving, this is starting to feel like
It's right before my eyes
And I can taste it, it's my sweet beginning
And I can tell just what you want
You don't want to be alone
You don't want to be alone
And I can't say it's what you know
But you've known it the whole time
Yeah, you've known it the whole time
Maybe next year I'll have no time
To think about the questions to address
Am I the one to try to stop the fire?
I wouldn't test you, I'm not the best you could have attained
Why try anything?
I will get there, just remember I know
And I can tell just what you want
You don't want to be alone
You don't want to be alone
And I can't say it's what you know
But you've known it the whole time
Yeah, you've known it the whole time
And I can tell just what you want
You don't want to be alone
You don't want to be alone
And I can't say it's what you know
But you've known it the whole time
Yeah, you've known it the whole time
7 years later still a quality tune
watching this during quarantaine and man concerts/festivals really are my only source of serotonin
