    Beautiful ramp. I'm going to make a similar one, but maybe only 2' high, and probably with less flatbottom than yours, maybe a 5.5' radius. I used to have a halfpipe 25 years ago with a little extension like this, that was tons of fun. Thanks for sharing the process and the specs, looks great and totally fun.

    what up from Aussie! I just started cutting out the transitions on my 60cm (2ft) lockdown micro mini ramp today. vital stats for my ramp are 60cm (2ft) high, 165cm (5,5ft) radius, 165cm flat and 200cm (6.6ft) wide. The way you built that extension is genius, i might have to mod my plans. Share your dimensions too dude, they are heaps helpful for ppl researching to build their own ramps.

    • @LivingWithoutWalls
      @LivingWithoutWalls  4 года назад +3

      Waddup mate!! I am honestly STOKING that your way out in Aussie! yewww!! I just added the dimensions in the description of both the ramp build videos I made! your ramp sounds PERFECT, the 5.5FT trans radius will be amazing for something that size, your ON IT DOG!! That extension I built worked out really good and it saved me money on wood and coping by recycling some coping that was too small for the 8ft width of my ramp from a friends old ramp, I was able to get two 6ft long pieces of coping and use them for that side with the extension!! Also, by not cutting a separate trans piece for the extension (in the middle of the ramp) it saved me from buying a whole sheet of 3/4 ply. It was hard to mount the coping without that trans piece tho but as you can see in this video I found a way.

  • @liamthelemur3738

    Such a perfect ramp!!! Looking into building something similar while quarantined but a little tight on space. Do you think it would be possible to run the same radius on the transition and same height including the extension but only go 18-19 ft long?

    • @LivingWithoutWalls
      @LivingWithoutWalls  4 года назад +1

      What’s up Liam!!! Thanks so much haha yewww. You would be fine at 18-19’ long BUT it would make the extension a bit shorter so you don’t have TOO MUCH speed after you hit it!

    Does the middle of your board hit coping when doing a rock to fakie or similar on the smaller quarters? Planning to build something similar in my garage but think it would be weird if it didn't make contact.

    • @LivingWithoutWalls
      @LivingWithoutWalls  3 года назад

      It does make contact but not a ton. You could make the trans radius slightly steeper to ensure board feel on the coping.

  • @michael.valenti
    @michael.valenti 4 года назад +1

    This turned out really awesome man! With that 6ft radius (on the 2.5ft section) how are the rockNrolls? Does your board actually suspend from the ramp/deck, or do your wheels mostly just roll up with no interference?

    • @LivingWithoutWalls
      @LivingWithoutWalls  4 года назад +2

      Dude we are STOKED on it, it skates so good!! The rock n rolls are decent, I would say with something like a 5.5' radius or so the rock n rolls may be better. The side of the ramp with the extension rock n rolls better (due to different sized bigger coping i recycled, its 2 1/4) and your wheels do have a small gap from the deck but not much. the 2 1/4" sized coping is really nice. the 1 1/2" on the other side feels a little small. I really wanna do pool coping on it one day, then i could make it perfect and the rock n rolls would be EPIC haha

  • @crustycalvin1574

    Beauty ramp! I'm planning one for my garage right now. Do you think you'd be able to get away shortening the flat bottom to 5ft or would that be too tight? I kind of need to limit my length but still want as much height as possible (aiming for 2.5ft tall, but might have to drop it to 2ft

    • @LivingWithoutWalls
      @LivingWithoutWalls  4 года назад +1
