Charlemagne's personality is so damn attractive. Honestly - can't realy remember about any other servant for me whose personality is so damn simple but attractive exaclty because of this simplicity. Even when his carefree character mixed with Karl's personality and he becomes serious he didn't lose a drop of his charm. And praises that he is saying to you is just:
-G...GODDAMN, CHARLEMAGNE, SHUDDUP, YOU'RE WAY TOO ADORKABLE, YOU LITERALLY KILLING ME FOR BEING SUCH A SWEETHEART!!!!!
Usually servants going on about the same ONE THING would bother me, like Spartacus and oppression. Yet every time Charlie brings up coolness, he sounds like the world’s happiest man, and he’s just so lovely. That’s literal infectious happiness given a saint graph.
It’s also the fact he is NOT just about coolness. He is also about being a Knight of justice, helping others, saving the world and creating a kingdom where everyone will be happy (this was his ideal when he became Emperor). But in the end all of this has to be done in the coolest way possible, because he just has to be cool. You can tell why all the Paladins are kind of crazy or weirdos, since their boss was also a weirdo,

He has such an amazing charismatic appearance
I love the fact that he gravitates towards being near Master/us at all time. It's a nice carry-over from Extella/Link. I keep grinning like a fool every time he smiles and is excited to be around us and talk with us.
I am happy that my bro Charlie is in the game! Playing as him in Extella Link was fun and I felt disheartened that it might be the only time I get to see him. But now he here in FGO!!!

Why do I feel like he's like those doting big brothers out there? I like his dynamic with Fujimaru, it's like he's his little brother.
It is truly amazing to see Charlie’s seiyuu trying to sound like Rex Magnus Karl’s seiyuu back on Extella Link!
the line "its almost miraculous that i was summoned" feels like a callback to how he wasnt normally summoned in extella link, added that he had a broken spirit graph-thingy the entire time too
He mostly means that he expected to be summoned as the serious Emperor of the Franks. But he ended up being summoned as the leader of the Paladins (but with small portions of the serious Emperor Karl).
Also Link can be sort of confusing on this point but his “Fantasy” side is still a side of him. Meaning that if the Master is more compatible with his stories and legends, rather than his historical side, he will be summoned as Paladin Charlemagne just because of compatibility. That is how Fate’s Servant summoning tends to work (FGO aside since the FATE system helps summon previously seen Spirit Origins regardless of compatibility).
@@lenleon3699 EXTELLA Link claiming that the Matter of France is total fiction in the Nasuverse is bizarre since it actually lines up pretty well with Nasuverse stuff.
@@BloodrealmX It... does not? It merely claims that the truth is mixed. The entire conflict begins when Charlemagne gets divided into two, with the Ruler version being based entirely on how history remembers him, with the other one being how he was dramatized and exalted in tales.
Thing is that even Link tells us how Astolfo remembers exactly when Charlemagne changed from a more laidback adventurer to a very serious ruler who worked to the bone to create a “just” Empire (it is hinted to be related to a relic of Sefar). So the game never denies the fantastical side, it just reminds us how different the adventurer him is vs how the ruler him was.
Also, FGO Traum has a version of him which is 100% a mix of Charlie and Karl, which honestly should just bury the whole idea that he was the burly guy and that the laidback adventurer never existed.

Man despite somewhat similar delivery of speech by Kimura Ryohei with Childe. It's kinda cool to see both characters are the direct opposites
Gotta say that Charlie does look awesome in all three outfits! I think he would be a great candidate for the Grand class.
He's a king first and a knight second; he couldn't be a Grand Saber. Roland, on the other hand, is so bonkers strong that I swear they only made this half-sane Roland 4 Star just so they could introduce Super Roland as 5 Star or Grand Saber later on.
@@BloodrealmXHe is a knight first and not a king, the king comes later because of the events with sefar, making him become a ruler in the form of Karl de Grober but besides everything he is originally a knight paladin exploring the world
@@luisfillipebeserra2108 Charlemagne is remembered in the popular consciousness as a king and emperor and that fact gets recorded to the Throne of Heroes. That's what I meant.
@@BloodrealmX Yes, but the original form, from the "fantasy" was also saved in the throne, ruler is just easier to summon because the throne could not completely differentiate the paladin version from the king version and the king version was better known worldwide than that of the still unknown paladin until the altera suggested using the moon cell to alter this

I love how his final ascension is basically him fusing with his Ruler counterpart. Making him more serious, but at the same time, he is still as charming and charismatic Charlie we all know

You know suprising that I thought it was going to Hiro Shimono ( the voice actor of zenitsu) but we got Ryōhei Kimura ( the voice actor of childe) but he's fine to be honest
the reason why was because he was one of the my most highly requested (yuki kaji as well as yoshitsugu matsuoka) and also because he hasn't played a fate character yet
He already had a VA in Extella Link, some there was little reason to change it.
