too much load on engine.....for each inch of line past the line cutter makes the engine temp creep 20-30 deg.....it also makes the clutch slip and that also generates a temendous amount of heat

lower octane "87" lacks the the resistance to burn thus causing preignition and higher octane resists those hot spots in the cylinder and keeps from spontaneously cumbusting before the spark plug does...i said nothing about power output....a lean mixture will indeed raise the temperature of any engine regardless of octane ratng used.

Great videos as always, just wondering why not having a guard on the trimmer head would cause it to overheat?

My piston has actual carbon buildup on it. Have compression and it runs good for 10 minutes then starts stalling and bogging down and quits. I have replaced everything else and it still gives me problems. Is the piston causing these problems. It's symptoms are the exact same as if the spark arrestor was clogged

Do you have a video that shows how to replace the seals? I have an echo that is wet around the exhaust. I looked at the piston thru the port and it looks great for now. Echo gt 2000 i think is what i have.

The flywheel is a fan, the fan is blowing the wrong way and does not cool the cylinder and head when its not shrouded

    lol :-)
Another thing that decides is the country you live in, the uk seems too dam expensive for parts, too much bloody govenment tax added to everything.
So sometimes its cheaper to scrap it, its sad, i dont like scrapping stuff :-((

WHEN THE CYLINDER AND PISTON GETS THAT BAD IT WOULD COST AS MUCH TOO BUY A NEW MACHINE THEN TO REBUILD IT ESPECIALLY ON WEED EATERS! THATS MY OPINION ESPECIALLY WITH LABOR COSTSUNLESS OF COURSE ITS A $300. WEEDEATER
