Wayne I honestly think it’s a double edged sword. For PR to only start sending you things at 3 million subs is crazy. I’m 41 years old and I can afford to buy whatever products I want to buy. And companies don’t gear their ad campaigns to my age group. They gear them to people who are young enough to be my children. Who do they think has to buy said product for that child? My point is simply this unfortunately due to age, gender, your honesty is why I personally think the PR bus was slow. I admire you for so many reasons. Being humble, honest and being able to admit your faults is what being a grown up is all about. I never put makeup on until about 3 years ago and your videos were the first I ever watched. What I think is lacking in the beauty community is basically the same things you touched upon. I can’t for the most part tell who’s being truthful. What the makeup actually looks like in real life and I have very few beauty influencers I can relate to. I wish you all the success you deserve. Thank you for being relatable and honest.
I just realized that Wayne has changed my whole look! I'm one of those people who made A LOT of makeup mistakes, which could be forgiven in my younger years. But now, I realize he's changed my techniques in my fifties, to the point that now, turning sixty, people constantly say I look like I'm ten and fifteen years younger. And I don't even use foundation most days! I'm a minimalist, but I just pay attention to my biggest flaws, with Wayne's help. Thanks, Wayne!

Oh Wayne. I have been watching you since you sat at a desk with a wooden door and white walls in the background. And maybe even a desk lamp? ... I remember watching you and actually learning make up techniques that I could apply to my daily routine. I could feel the love and passion you had for shaping faces and enhancing the natural beauty that we all have. No fancy background, PR hauls or other stupid shit. It's been years since then and I still am subscribed, watch to the end, and learn. It's not about all the fluff and bull shit but the actual content and person who you are. I love you as a you tuber, a make up artist, and I respect you as a person.
I personally don't tune in for the background or the editing.....I watch because I like your tips and what you have to say. I'd probably still watch if you filmed on a box in your closet wearing pajamas or whatever ,but that's just me. And your brushes are the shit!!! I have the #18 eye brush , got my eye on the #14 cheek brush and the fan brush next. Honestly I was hoping the #18 would suck so I wouldn't want any more of his brushes but its FABULOUS and I'm hooked!!

Part of the enjoyment of YT is to be able to create, edit and upload your own videos. If we are all going to get professional editors, then it will just become online Hollywood and it will lose the personal touch and relatability. I love that you have kept your background as it gives a sense of constancy and familiarity when everything else seems to be changing around us. Don' t stop being you. You have 3M plus people who have welcomed you into their lives, and is for a reason. The 10 individuals that email you their lack of joy and misery are only worth being ignored.

My daughter and I found your videos several years ago on the same day but separately! It was the strangest occurrence but a happy one. Your tips and reviews cross the generations and are appreciated, always.
please NEVER change your background! Love it as it is! :))) This is my way of saying, I couldn't freaking care less about your background! And regarding the youtubers that make a good living out of this and forget about how lucky they are... Only hours ago a very popular female youtuber (millions of followers) posted a video called something like "$3,000 of makeup tutorial". And although I do like to watch high-end stuff and learn more about what there is make-up and skin care wise in the world, I was seriously disgusted by the fact that the same youtuber regularly complains in her videos about NOT being on some company's PR lists, hence not getting more stuff for free... I was so disgusted that I left my opinion in the comments and unsubscribed. Why? Because I hate it when people forget to be thankful and lose their head when success hits them. Most of her followers will never be able to afford the stuff she gets for free and yet she regularly finds time and place to complain about the fact that some companies don't shower her with gifts... A big no-no for me.
5Heliotrope I watched that one today as well. I usually skip these types of videos from her and others like her. There is high-end (my high-end is $20 mascara to $50 palettes) and her high-end, which is absolutely outrageous. $200 setting spray? Never could I get that and I think it's a waste of money. If I had money for that kind of stuff I would probably donate food or clothes to shelters, etc.
5Heliotrope I too watched that today and remembered her complaining in a video about companies not sending her free stuff & emails she had received from companies. She dedicated a lot of time to bash these companies & made it clear who they were in future videos. I left a comment mentioning that a real MUA like Wayne goss still has to buy everything themselves whilst she was getting a new house, free holidays a new Porsche a big wedding a room make over by the same company as Jeffree starr for free. She has a producer, editor & director & that comment was removed repeatedly from her page. It seems she didn't want people knowing the truth behind her 'success' it makes me sick that level of being detached from reality & her humble beginnings & she gives nothing to charity, shelters or even her viewers. She inboxed & just throws hundreds of pounds of make up aside as if it were rubbish without barely a thank you, it makes me sick that entitlement level. She also had 446 likes when only 8 people had viewed the video, that made me very suspicious & I too unsubscribed, it was the icing on the cake for me.
5Heliotrope I hate the videos she makes showing her wardrobe and calling out the designer names. They just scream “look at me, I’m rich!” She used to be more humble, don’t know what happened.

I started watching your videos seven years ago when I used to live in Beijing (yes, I had a VPN so I could bypass the Chinese firewall that blocked YT, FB, Twitter, etc) and your YT channel was my little place of escape from the craziness of work/chaos of China lol. I have continued to watch your videos even after moving back to Canada a few years ago and it's comforting to see that background! I, for one, am glad you haven't changed it! What's more significant, though, is the fact you're still just as humble, down-to-earth and relatable as you used to be. A lot of YT beauty personalities make sudden changes when they start raking in the views/subscribers and that, as some of the comments from viewers make evident, has alienated a lot of viewers who see that as selling out, being fake, etc. I appreciate that you have remained true to your purpose of being on YT and never forget where you came from. I learn so much from your channel and I hope you continue to share videos with us (and enjoy making them!)

Love this! As a new RUclipsr, I constantly feel pressure to have a nice background but like you, there's only one place I can really film in my house that's quiet and has good natural lighting and I can't afford to redo the entire room right now. But no one seems to mind my background and some have even said that they like it better than those that look like studio sets. I think it's just me putting pressure on myself. I don't think people watching are as critical. 😊💕
I appreciate that you: have a humble filming set up, make and edit your own videos, are not flashy in the slightest, find the balance between promoting and pushing a product, verbally declare that products are not sponsored and are not sent to you, do not gloat, boast or show off how much stuff you have, openly state when you've made a mistake or changed your mind, are cheeky, keep a small and highly curated kit (this helps us folks feel that great make up is achievable), are genuine and lovely. ❤️ from Australia.

Oh Wayne. I have been watching you since you sat at a desk with a wooden door and white walls in the background. And maybe even a desk lamp? ... I remember watching you and actually learning make up techniques that I could apply to my daily routine. I could feel the love and passion you had for shaping faces and enhancing the natural beauty that we all have. No fancy background, PR hauls or other stupid shit. It's been years since then and I still am subscribed, watch to the end, and learn. It's not about all the fluff and bull shit but the actual content and person who you are. I love you as a you tuber, a make up artist, and I respect you as a person.

I personally don't tune in for the background or the editing.....I watch because I like your tips and what you have to say. I'd probably still watch if you filmed on a box in your closet wearing pajamas or whatever ,but that's just me. And your brushes are the shit!!! Well brush....ive only been able to afford one so far but i plan on getting more 💗

Part of the enjoyment of YT is to be able to create, edit and upload your own videos. If we are all going to get professional editors, then it will just become online Hollywood and it will lose the personal touch and relatability. I love that you have kept your background as it gives a sense of constancy and familiarity when everything else seems to be changing around us. Don' t stop being you. You have 3M plus people who have welcomed you into their lives, and is for a reason. The 10 individuals that email you their lack of joy and misery are only worth being ignored.

My daughter and I found your videos several years ago on the same day but separately! It was the strangest occurrence but a happy one. Your tips and reviews cross the generations and are appreciated, always.
please NEVER change your background! Love it as it is! :))) This is my way of saying, I couldn't freaking care less about your background! And regarding the youtubers that make a good living out of this and forget about how lucky they are... Only hours ago a very popular female youtuber (millions of followers) posted a video called something like "$3,000 of makeup tutorial". And although I do like to watch high-end stuff and learn more about what there is make-up and skin care wise in the world, I was seriously disgusted by the fact that the same youtuber regularly complains in her videos about NOT being on some company's PR lists, hence not getting more stuff for free... I was so disgusted that I left my opinion in the comments and unsubscribed. Why? Because I hate it when people forget to be thankful and lose their head when success hits them. Most of her followers will never be able to afford the stuff she gets for free and yet she regularly finds time and place to complain about the fact that some companies don't shower her with gifts... A big no-no for me.
5Heliotrope I watched that one today as well. I usually skip these types of videos from her and others like her. There is high-end (my high-end is $20 mascara to $50 palettes) and her high-end, which is absolutely outrageous. $200 setting spray? Never could I get that and I think it's a waste of money. If I had money for that kind of stuff I would probably donate food or clothes to shelters, etc.

5Heliotrope I too watched that today and remembered her complaining in a video about companies not sending her free stuff & emails she had received from companies. She dedicated a lot of time to bash these companies & made it clear who they were in future videos. I left a comment mentioning that a real MUA like Wayne goss still has to buy everything themselves whilst she was getting a new house, free holidays a new Porsche a big wedding a room make over by the same company as Jeffree starr for free. She has a producer, editor & director & that comment was removed repeatedly from her page. It seems she didn't want people knowing the truth behind her 'success' it makes me sick that level of being detached from reality & her humble beginnings & she gives nothing to charity, shelters or even her viewers. She inboxed & just throws hundreds of pounds of make up aside as if it were rubbish without barely a thank you, it makes me sick that entitlement level. She also had 446 likes when only 8 people had viewed the video, that made me very suspicious & I too unsubscribed, it was the icing on the cake for me.

I started watching your videos seven years ago when I used to live in Beijing (yes, I had a VPN so I could bypass the Chinese firewall that blocked YT, FB, Twitter, etc) and your YT channel was my little place of escape from the craziness of work/chaos of China lol. I have continued to watch your videos even after moving back to Canada a few years ago and it's comforting to see that background! I, for one, am glad you haven't changed it! What's more significant, though, is the fact you're still just as humble, down-to-earth and relatable as you used to be. A lot of YT beauty personalities make sudden changes when they start raking in the views/subscribers and that, as some of the comments from viewers make evident, has alienated a lot of viewers who see that as selling out, being fake, etc. I appreciate that you have remained true to your purpose of being on YT and never forget where you came from. I learn so much from your channel and I hope you continue to share videos with us (and enjoy making them!)

Love this! As a new RUclipsr, I constantly feel pressure to have a nice background but like you, there's only one place I can really film in my house that's quiet and has good natural lighting and I can't afford to redo the entire room right now. But no one seems to mind my background and some have even said that they like it better than those that look like studio sets. I think it's just me putting pressure on myself. I don't think people watching are as critical. 😊💕

I also wanted to tell you that I received 2 of your makeup brushes for Christmas and I am so amazed at the difference they make with makeup application.
