Hi, thanks for this reaction! There is a bluray disk of this whole performance. The show is called Black Symphony. Yes, I was there. There are more songs of this concert on youtube, like Mother Earth, What Have you Done, Our Solemn Hour, Jillian, etc.
Even more impressive is the fact that Sharon was sick during this concert. And yet she still managed to sing her heart out for the whole TWO HOUR concert over not only the band but a full orchestra and cheering crowd, because sick or not she wanted to perform. The whole concert is fantastic but *especially* her duet of Somewhere with Anneke van Giersbergen, another one of the Dutch rock queens! It's so haunting and Sharon's high notes are literally like she's got a flute in her throat.
This is a band that I generally enjoy listening to studio versions of the songs more than live versions. I'm sure there are exceptions but... What a wonderful performance it was, the stage presens and how much the band enjoyed it is great. I might just search out some live performance videos just to see that.
That’s an amazing performance! Black Symphony is one of the most creative and well performed concerts of the band and also from Symphonic Metal history. “The other half (of me)”, “Morher Earth”, “The Truth Beneath the Rose” from this very same concert are also GREAT songs. “The Promise” from Elements concert (also with an Orchestra) is beyond amazing as well. Great video! Keep rocking 🤘🏼
Love your reactions! I've always thought this is the best Symphonic Metal concert ever. I strongly recommend 'The Truth Beneath The Rose', it's a true masterpiece, and one of their best songs. Rarely recommended though, I think you'd love it. Cheers!
The whole show is amazing. You should definitely check out The Promise and Mother Earth from the same concert if you want to see more of her dancing. The dancing has always been part of her stage persona. I love to watch her perform.
Please, next Within Temptation's reaction, THE PROMISE (From this show called black symphony). It's one of the songs that really increases a lot with the orchestra and the head voice from Sharon den Adel
Black Symphony is for me, with Retrospect (of Epica) and End Of An Era (Nightwish) the three most important live shows of symphonic metal ^^ From Black Symphony, you should definitely listen to Jillian and Our Solemn Hour. One group you've never watch which quite amazing is Powerwolf! Let There Be Night is amazing
I am so lucky to have found this band as they get next to nothing in radio play in the states. They played the Filmore in Philly this past September to promote their latest album, and while I'm not 'sold' on the new songs, I wasn't going to miss them live. I took a bus, spent 2 nights in Philly, a stay over to be there and another before leaving. Still, it was my cheapest thrill ever.
This is Black Symphony concert, it’s one of their best shows. You can try almost every song from this show and you won’t be disappointed. I personally can recommend you “The Heart of Everything”, “Our Solemn Our” and “The Other Half of Me”(if you want to hear mix of Sharon’s angelic voice with male growls).
Still waiting for "Paradise (What about us?)" feat. Tarja...lol c'mon man you have to do that one! Such an awesome song! Also recommend "The Reckoning" and "Endless War" from their newest album "Resist".
You know what was amazing about this, that back then they had fans from all over edit a song from the concert and the fan who edited the best take on the specific song they chose, got to have their video released by the band! I remember I even submitted one, and it was honestly amazing (i thought! haha) Now I want to find that again, damn it! lol
Within Temptation are yet another massive Nordic symphonic metal band like Nightwish who'v been pumping out albums/huge Tours and main staging massive festivals for over 20 years and people are only just discovering them.
If you watch "The promise" and "The other half of me" from this DVD you will find a Within temptation you have never seen. Hahaha They have been changing everyday. They released a new song and it is REALLY different. They have 2 different DVDs with orchestra and choros. But on this one (2008) they were this whole other band. Their music now is more electronic than anything. So,to end, it would be cool if u could react to SUPERNOVA from their most recent album and also their new song ENTERTAIN YOU, which has been Just released today.
The song by Evanescence is Bring me to Life, Metropole Orkest is a very important dutch orchestra, they won a Grammy, they perform with many artists and different kinds of genres, they did a version of Beyond the Matrix with Epica, it's a song from The Holographic Principle and when they get the chance to record something with Metropole Orkest they pick up that song, its wonderful , you should react to it
The keyboard player that you described probably would be the one from "Dragonforce". The Evanescence song you were talking about is "Bring me to life". All that concert, "Black Symphony", is excellent. Any song you want to react from it would be great, but my favorite one is "The Promise".
I love this band...great take as well...I'm not a patron...but am giving my suggestion , not for me but for you...my favorite songs...official vid...faster and a demons fate...and mad world........and frozen.....and
Within Temptation did a collaboration with Tarja Turunen (you know her--the original singer with Nightwish). It is one of the most epic things on all of youtube: "Paradise (What about us)": ruclips.net/video/Dy6MpsDPKts/видео.html
They have headlined M'era Luna several times and for sure will do it again. I'ts quit close to your place. And there are always so many other great bands.
Glenn Frey of the Eagles said he didn't particularly want to get up and sing Take it Easy every night, but he knew there had been people in the audience waiting their whole life to hear him sing it, and you had to deliver
Start with orchestral intro followed by their first song "Jillian". That is how you create anticipation in the crowd and open a show. It was specifically written for the show. ruclips.net/video/cgq4S5zDafs/видео.html By the way you would think they would have put lot of effort in to convincing the orchestra to do this but it actually was the conductor that approached them if they would be interested in collaboration. Sharon nearly dropped out of chair and said something like "Your kidding right? of-course we would love to do that. You do not make our kind of music if we would not be interested in that". :-)
This concert is great !! The song Our Solumn Hour is one you need to hear. Here is the link to that song from the Black Symphony ruclips.net/video/SsoDezRwbnU/видео.html
You should listen and react to the song "what about us" a song in which sharon ( whitin temptation singer ) do a duet with tarja ( ex former of nightwish ).. amazing song
I am not sure what happened there. I can only hope that either this was at the very beginning of the show (so Sharon's voice was not quite warmed up yet) or at the very end of the show (so Sharon's voice was worn out by then). Maybe I am just too used to hearing the Album version... :)
I would say to react to both the studio version of Truth Beneath the Rose, and the Black Symphony version -- because both are amazing! On top of that, I highly recommend Somewhere from Black Symphony, as well -- it is one of the best duets ever recorded, between Sharon Adel and Anneke van Giersbergen(?). It is a beautiful piece.
Black Symphony is great, pick any song (one of my favourites from this dvd is Hand of Sorrow, but there is no bad song so choose any) ;) I hope you will, I like your reactions :)
Please have a look at the keyboard player from Rammstein, Flake. Without him Rammstein would never have been what they are. Again and again he is only moved into the nerd corner and underestimated enormously. What most people remember is only the treadmill he is running on while playing. Most of the Rammstein pieces are backed by a mostly inconspicuous but sometimes bombastically symphonic sound body combined with techno elements and so much more and it´s done so cleverly that it is hardly noticeable in the foreground. But if you take it out of the equation and mix it away at the mixer console, the rest sounds nearly like any metal band. Apart from the monster guitare reefs only the keyboards in the background fill up the entire sound, make things round, and not at least because of this, Rammstein sound so unique ! Please check it out - ruclips.net/video/IjGNTqAW58E/видео.html
To me, it sounds like either Sharon had some voice issue, or perhaps she didn't have good monitor feedback as she seemed to e ever so slightly off here and there. Not what you'd expect from a singer of her class.
Hi, thanks for this reaction! There is a bluray disk of this whole performance. The show is called Black Symphony. Yes, I was there. There are more songs of this concert on youtube, like Mother Earth, What Have you Done, Our Solemn Hour, Jillian, etc.
More Sharon is never a bad thing 😃
This live performance was the performance of a lifetime. The best ablum of the decade.
“Black Symphony” was a huge concert and “Elements” in 2014 was bigger yet
I recommend
Hand of Sorrow
The Truth Beneath the Rose
The Cross
three great songs and Sharon's voice is extraordinary!
The Truth Beneath the Rose :D
Yeah, The Truth Beneath the Rose! 😎
Mother Earth
You're just scratching the surface with Within Temptation. Keep scratchin' feels good. lol

"Somewhere" from this show is amazing featuring Anneke Van Giersbergen! ;)
Well after he sees that i bet he wants to see more Anneke !
The solemn Hour is also amazing.

Stand my Ground has to be the most beautiful song ever written
Love your reactions! I've always thought this is the best Symphonic Metal concert ever. I strongly recommend 'The Truth Beneath The Rose', it's a true masterpiece, and one of their best songs. Rarely recommended though, I think you'd love it. Cheers!
My favourite version of that song is this one, as it has the greatest stage exit ever
ruclips.net/video/ePXiuATGE20/видео.html
@@johnhitchens5632 if they had added that exit to the concert with the live orchestra it would've been the cherry on top. 😁 Love it indeed.
@ Omar: I do not agree! the best Symphonic Metal concert ever is Nightwish at Wacken 2013, but WT is not bad at all
You can't listen to Nightwish without passing onto Within Temptation as well 💕 I have to say I love them a little more 💕
You could listen to somewhere also with Metropole orchestra and I always forget the other lady singing but it's amazing 💕
The whole show is amazing. You should definitely check out The Promise and Mother Earth from the same concert if you want to see more of her dancing. The dancing has always been part of her stage persona. I love to watch her perform.
omg you should definitely check "The other half on me" also from black symphony, its outstanding
Please, next Within Temptation's reaction, THE PROMISE (From this show called black symphony). It's one of the songs that really increases a lot with the orchestra and the head voice from Sharon den Adel
Stand my ground is like a prayer for me .... all through the years...
Is like a hymn...
Black Symphony is for me, with Retrospect (of Epica) and End Of An Era (Nightwish) the three most important live shows of symphonic metal ^^

Sharon and the whole band is great, amazing. Sharon is a very nice person, she's very very sympathic human.

"AND.WE RUN"... Within Temptation.
And...
"What about Us"..(with Tarja).
There are too many ... in the band history so I ... surprise me...

Te recomiendo el duo de within temptation featuring Tarja turunen- Paradise
The Heart of Everything live at the same concert Black Symphony
Awesome but you have to listen to Mad World in Wacken live 2019 ,that's also a awesome live concert of Within Temptation
Glenn Frey of the Eagles said he didn't particularly want to get up and sing Take it Easy every night, but he knew there had been people in the audience waiting their whole life to hear him sing it, and you had to deliver
Please do Angels! Won't stop recommending that!

Black Symphony is great, pick any song (one of my favourites from this dvd is Hand of Sorrow, but there is no bad song so choose any) ;) I hope you will, I like your reactions :)
You have to react to their brand new single called “entertain you” it’s amazing!

Hey Johnny! Can you give me a heads up if the Evergrey reaction is still a thing or at least tell me if you read this?
Of course I read it ☺️. Yes it's still coming. 😎👌
Powerful Reactions Thanks bro! I just wanna let you know that the best song to start with this band is "A Silent Arc" (because you got 2 suggestions)
WT DVD's "Silent Force" and "Elements" - pick any song!
Hello, I love your reactions. could you please react to the Xandria theater of dimensions song 🥺

pls react to the new single entertain you
Plzzzz react Pierce the Veil King for a Day
if it ain't dutch it ain't much !!!
Tuning BEADGBE
What you said about the keyboards is what prog rock is all about and why it is so much better than pop - it's all about layers that engage your brain
To me, it sounds like either Sharon had some voice issue, or perhaps she didn't have good monitor feedback as she seemed to e ever so slightly off here and there. Not what you'd expect from a singer of her class.
I could be wrong but I believe she was sick here
