This has nothing to do with South Africa. SA brought a case to International Court of Justice (ICJ), which is a UN organ. This potential arrest warrants come from International Criminal Court (ICC), a different, independent body created by Rome Statute. ICC does its own investigations, they do not operate at the request of South Africa. ICC is the same court that issued arrest warrant for Putin last year.
Palistine brought this case to ICC in 2019, why all this wasn't stopped before October 7th nobody knows..

In the ICC, there can never be equality between the victim and the perpetrator between Israel and Hamas, because Israel is an occupying power according to international law, while the Palestinians have the right to defend their land by all available means.

No surprise that for the ICC’s Karim Khan, once again, history begins on October 7th even though his investigation has by his own account been ongoing for a number of years and is supposed to take into account all crimes committed since 2014 - but he has yet to address any crimes between 2014 and 2023 notably the crime of apartheid, the crime of illegal settlements and the occupied territories.
The other thing is his attempt to place the onus primarily on Hamas - so he's indicted three Hamas leaders but only two Israeli leaders and, strangely, he is seeking the arrest Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the group’s political bureau, who - according to most accounts was not involved in the planning and execution of the Hamas attacks of October 7th. Meanwhile he has not sought the arrest of either Israel's President Isaac Herzog or the Israeli Chief of Staff or any of the commanding officers involved in Israel's Gaza onslaught since October 7th - nor for that matter other key decision makers in Israel's war cabinet like Benny Gantz ,Gadi Eizenkot and others.

Officials of any country that's a signatory to the ICC is obliged/authorised to arrest Netanyahu, etc if they enter that country. Hence, makes it hard for/prevents the accused traveling outside their homeland. There's no organization that can enter another country to drag the person before the ICC, so not a prefect set up.
