I’m already regretting the day when Mother Nature snuffs out the light in David McCullough’s, Ron Chernow’s, and Doris Kearns-Godwin’s eyes. The wealth of knowledge in the study of American history will be lost to time that no one can fill these great custodians of history’s shoes. Such a great vacuum will be created since I see no one of the younger generation showing anywhere near the interest to move us forward.

And so the day has dawned without David McCullough in it.
The world has lost a truly great, learned and eloquent man.

One thing is for certain, we are about due for a unifying president, we haven’t had unifying leader since John F Kennedy.

Cryptic. Too bad he doesn't get into specifics. It sounds like he is criticizing
what the liberals are doing to America's educational system. But, it appears
he lacks the courage to give us specific examples of where he is seeing
things go wrong. Perhaps, he is concerned the liberal media would not
broadcast anything he said if he got down to specifics. Sad, really.

    Federalist #10
James Madison; Daily Advertiser; Thursday, November 22rd, 1787.
“By a faction, I understand a number of citizens, whether amounting to a majority or a minority of the whole, who are united and actuated by some common impulse of passion, or of interest, adversed to the rights of the other citizens, or to the permanent and aggregate interests of the community.”

All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that through the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression.

XII. Another Way to make you Tax odious, is to misapply the Produce of it. If is was the originally appropriated for the Defence of the Provinces and the better Support of Government, and the Administration of Justice where it may be necessary, then apply none to it to that Defence, but bestow it where it is not necessary, in augmented Salaries or Pensions to every Governor who has distinguished himself by his Enmity to the People, and by calumniating them to their Sovereign. This will make them pay it more unwillingly, and be more apt to quarrel with those that collect it, and those that imposed it, who will quarrel again with them, and shall all contribute to your main Purpose of making them weary of your Government.

I respectfully disagree with Mr. McCullough. What this country needs at this time is a tough, no-nonsense CEO who doesn't give a rats ass about politics.

Well Ron, Here we are one year in , and you got your wish....except for the no-nonsense part, or do you think a CEO who stiffs his business partner at every turn and then relies on deep pockets to outlast them in court isa CEo to be admired , let alone followed. I hope for your sake , you are a person of privilege, otherwise , you just cut your own throat.....and a lot of other people who live on the margins. And they thank you for your gross miscalculations.
