It's so great to hear about our founding fathers in more than one dimension. I get so sick of the stock 3rd grade primer version of these men. They were "men" just as we are. Full of failings, quirks and dichotomies and confusing behavior. But, in spite of it all, they created a great nation. I was so amazed to find that John Adams was the defense attorney at the trial of the British soldiers from the Boston Massacre. Amazing man.
Just heard more of importance in 5 minutes then I learned the rest of my day. The modern day has so much more volume and so little content.

I loved listening to him. Started with Johnstown Flood. I’m going to go watch HBO John Adams ⭐️
I saw the HBO miniseries on Adams and was really struck by it. Seeing it sent me to McCullough and other writers.
Honest? That shipped has sailed. What a shame we don't have men of solid character anymore in government.
