I love the way these teachers interact to explain, in simple as possible terms how to create a good podcast. It has taught me how to start a podcast from the very beginning which is so cool. Nice vibe too.
this was so helpful, thank you for sharing! all the other beginner videos suggested buying expensive michs that I just don't have the funds for right now, so i really appreciate this thoughtful advice! 🙂
Thanks for the video. I'm wondering if, when recording separately on two phones placed near each other and then combining the audio, the voice of the first person doesn't appear in the audio of the second person and vice versa. How should we handle this situation?
Thank you so much for this information! I will be using Descript for my podcast. Do you still have to convert the file when using Descript? Also, are Auphonic and Descript compatible?
Hey! I didn't really understand the way you got to your end result. Did you manually cut off all parts of the recording with the other person from your audio track or did you combine the two?
Hey guys, I love the channel. I have a question. What if I want to record remotely with two people but don’t want to use Anchor? Is there a audio application that will allow me to record remotely but own the rights to my podcast?
Thanks! When plugging in my Apple wired headphones, the Auphonic app shows "Headset Microphone." However, when I use my AirPods, it stays as "iPhone Microphone (Bottom)." Is there a way to record the AirPods with the Auphonic app?
How can one do this remotely, especially on an android phone.. I know android doesn't allow one to record when making a call, so how can we do this effectively.. Thank you.
So if I were to have a guest on my podcast, would they need to download this app themselves on their phone? Or how would that work if I were to have a guest?
I have a Samsung S9,,,using Anchor with earbuds w/microphone,,but I cannot hear my voice while recording,,,i need to hear myself,,is this possible,,do I need newer phone
Yes, you can make that work. You won’t, however have each speaker isolated o. Their own tracks, which can make editing a bit tricky. Also, it’s nice to be able to silence the microphone of the person who isn’t speaking, during the editing. But I think it’s worth trying out.
Please I hope I get a reply to this question. I've searched the internet but cannot get a definite answer... Is there a way to connect two microphone and headphones to a android phone to record a podcast? I know a y splitter can connect one external microphone and a headphone but I need the connection for 2 instead of one. I hope you can reply please. Thank you 🙏
That’s a tricky thing to accomplish. I’m not aware of a way to use 2 usb mics on one phone. You might try using a USB hub. If it did work, both of your microphones would share the same recorded track.
@@podsoundschool thank you so much for your reply! I did think about the recording being on one track and the issues with editing after, so I've decided to go ahead and get a audio interface 😊.
great question. There are a lot of ways to do that. some more advanced than others. The best and easiest way is by using plugins. My favorite is one from WAVES called NS1 Noise Suppressor.
Yes. You could have as many as you want really. It can just get a little tricky to sync all the recordings together if you're not in the same location.
It would have been easier, yes, but it would make advanced editing more difficult and we also wouldn't be able to apply effects individually to our voices. I like to EQ, compress, and de-ess Veronica's voice differently than mine. If we had been farther away from each other, we would have achieved even better results. Then if we wanted to really take it up a notch, we could use USB microphones with each of our phones.
its a very nice tutorial, but it seems to me you are basically cutting, intercepting whenever someone speaks, and silence the person who doesn't talk. I was looking more for a solution where you don't have to do this. seems like a lot of work, especially if you have a 2 hour interview.
There is a tool that works really great for this. A Gate. gates allow you to draw a line (so to speak) on the volume spectrum and only allow things louder than that line to pass through. This can be really helpful. The problem with our setup in this video, is that we were too close to each other, which makes using a Gate not as effective.

You have encouraged me to start my own podcast. Useful and straightforward tips. Greetings from Brazil.

what are your pro-tips on a podcast interview with two different locations. So a virtual interview.
How can I record a video using this technique. Pretty much, how can I add that audio to a video form?
I have a Samsung s24 ultra and for some reason it says auphonic is not compatible with my device

THANKS!

What if you want to edit the audio files in GarageBand? Would that be possible?
Pardon the late response. Yes you can absolutely edit in GarageBand
Could we have more than two phones to record and then edit on Reaper?
Yes. You could have as many as you want really. It can just get a little tricky to sync all the recordings together if you're not in the same location.
Wouldn't have been easier to just set one phone up with Auphonic app to record both of you?

Can we do it for free
Yes. There are free DAWs you can use. Reaper is $60. But ProTools First is free.
Out of date, that recording app is no longer free.
Thank you for letting me know
Are you guys a wife and husband?
We are not 😀
