In my modest oppinion, Aurora's songwriting, it is unparalleled in todays modern music. Her songs are deep and meaningful, and the way she performs them she can and often absolutely will give a powerful cathartic release to the listener. Her voice is absolutely crystal clear, and she has a way of demanding your complete focus when she performs.
agreed. i think she will be one of the defining female artists from this era, like bjørk, kate bush or joni mitchell, she is always closely if not fully involved with the music she releases and because of that her music is truly her own. if an old guy like me can be inspired by her, i can`t imagine how impactful she is among upcoming talent.

Dude, you have no idea what you've just discovered. I hope you will take this journey. I assure you that you will not be sorry. This young lady from Norway (who will be 25 in june) is one of a kind. She sings many genres of music, so you cannot really put her in a box. If you are interested in continuing with her, I would suggest a few songs. Not sure what kind of music you are into, but I would check out Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1) live from 2015 Nobel peace prize concert (or Runaway from that same concert) If you want a bit of a rock vibe, you can check out "Under the water" live on the Honda stage. And if you want to see more like this, you can check out "It happened quiet" live at the Current. I would start with those and see if you continue to like her. If so, I have many more suggestions. She just happens to be my favorite of all time (and I'm 49 and love all kinds of music) I only just discovered this lovely young woman about six months ago. Haven't been able to stop listening since.

Or, you can just do one song at a time. Each one is wonderful. You have no idea what this girl can do yet. You've only just scratched the surface. And yes, she does use her hands a lot. She is a very kind, sweet, quirky and funny person. Her interviews are hilarious. I've never seen anyone so open in my life . And so, yet another journey begins, to yet another Norwegian artist. These two, Angelina Jordan and Aurora Aksnes, are my two favourite artists. They are both so genuine and down to earth, and deliver with emotions and sincerity like no other. Aurora started writing her own songs at a very early age, but no-one knew about it until she sang at her mother's birthday around the age of fourteen. When her parents realized what she had been doing over the years, THEY were the ones convincing Aurora to start performing. They understood right away what a gift to human kind she could and would be. Aurora is very shy and timid by nature, and at first totally rejected the idea. But luckily, at some stage, she gave in to her parents, and the rest is history. You said in this video that you forgot to breathe. That's a very common reaction from people listening to her. She has this special way of drawing you in, almost as if you're hypnotized. Her artistic expression is very intense and captivating indeed. Her live performances is a sight to behold. To give you a gentle nudge in the right direction, I suggest you start with ANY of her performances from the concert she held in the oldest and most beautiful cathedral we have here in Norway, called Nidarosdomen. Or, to see another side of her live performances, you might want to check out her concert at KEXP in Iceland. I can't tell if Angelina Jordan Astar started writing also at a young age, but at five she was already learning to sing and play instruments. Aurora Aksnes wrote Lucky at the age of 9, and Runaway at 11, and she started learning piano by herself very young, with a defective electric piano; she had to press the On button, and play only with one hand. Anyway, those are indeed two geniuses, and Aurora Aksnes is a genius not only musically, but as a human being. And so is Angelina Jordan Astar.

Looking for information about Aurora is easy, but I like to give you something about her musicians... She writes and produce most of her music herself, along with her main producer, Magnus, who is also her drummer. He do backing vocals as well. Earlier, she performed with a man at guitar, Odd Martin. He is an artist on his own and do some backing vocals with her. The guitarist who most usually play with her now is Fredrik. He also do backing vocals. Her main backing vocal is Silja Sol. She's an amazing artist who prefer to sing in Norwegian. She is often seen behind a bass or a keyboard. When Silja is absent, Aurora have Selma with her as backing vocal. I could recommend a lot of songs for you, but the truth is that you could take any song by random, and you will find it amazing. Especially the live ones that is not phone-recorded. She is involved in producing her music-videos too, and they are equally stunning - visually. Aurora don't have "hit-music", she have songs that touches the heart and matters. Right: Ole Martin, Guitar, Bass and backup-singer. Middle and right got married and left the band. Ole Martin started producing a friend of Aurora "Sigrid" who is an amazing artist herself. The band members who replaced them are also amazing, you will see them in live performances from 2017 -> and they are still together. Aurora writes, sings, produces and arranges her music, but surrounds herself with people who can help her put her vision into life. She is well aware that one person can not do everything but will always have the final say. One of the benefits of not being in the American music industry i guess, but also why i think she will never hit mainstream there. She has over half a billion views on youtube and is big globally. Personally i find she is one of the best artist out there today because her lyrics can always be interpreted in multiple ways, but she is also not afraid to have strong messages in her music. She has an opinion, a voice and will use it how she feels she can. She can't be put in a box either, she has music ranging from pop, to electronic to quite metal. I have listened mainly to metal my hole life but lately a lot of very talented young women have popped up that make me question my musical taste. Aurora is definitely one of those. I always get tears in my eyes when she sings, it's like she sings from an ethereal place.

She grew up in the Norwegian forests which was her backyard. Parents called her home with a bell. She continued to get lost in the forest so she was taught to find her way home by the stars. She is self taught. She writes her own songs. She taught herself how to play the piano at a very young age. She plays by ear. Between her and Angelina most of my days are filled. She has a unique personality and basically refuses to be what most consider normal. She refuses to be controlled by her record labels and follows her own path. She is ten years older than Angelina. I recommended Runaway by Aurora, she wrote it when she was a child but it's amazing. I think you'll love it. She's also Norwegian like Angelina Jordan, she's 25 y.o. I think. Many of her songs are about subject matters, some hard, that she deeply cares about. There's something in Norway's water that they're producing great singers like them. Sigrid is another female Norwegian artist you will love, she's more pop than the other two but she's great.

Aurora is hoping to release a new album this year ... It will be her 4th (or 3rd if you count the middle download only album as an EP). I can't believe there are still people that have no idea she exists. Of all the new albums I anticipate this year that Aurora album is my most eagerly awaited one. Her albums so far are wall to wall phenomenally brilliant.... you know like some albums have a weak track, not with Aurora, well not so far anyway... She also has a few covers which she puts her own spin on other peoples songs. But mostly she sings and produces songs she has written and a lot of her performances of her songs (her children as she calls them) have different tweaks and re-arrangements. Her voice is phenomenal and her performances are captivating, she really inhabits these songs and pours her soul through them. Her genre is pop but her songs are very progressive. The songs are usually emotionally charged or they have a powerful message. She is an introvert and you get the feeling she has tried to hold n to her own values, and she doesn't seem to be clouded by her success. She is very soft spoken and empathic, but not without humour and a whole bucket load of charm. The world should be proud that this one has turned out right. She is the voice of the spirit that calls out to Elsa on Frozen 2. So Disney has found her. It seems a lot more people need too find out about her too. Check out her songs and her interviews as well. Also her band members are brilliant too I particularly like when she harmonises with Silja. But also with Magnus and the guys in her usual line up. Aurora creates amazing harmonies with all of them. So she's actually from Norway as well, Like Angelina.. I've actually met her. She kinda passed by me walking hand in hand with her girlfriend (i assume.) I said hi and she smiles at me and said hi. I said i am a fan. She was walking on a crosswalk with her girlfriend so i diddent want to bother her that much so i never got the picture with her.. Shes an amazing songwriter. And she have some beautiful songs. I think one of them is murder song or something she did at the nobel peace prize. But i think my fav is running with wolves. But run away is also a good one. I can't tell if Angelina Jordan Astar started writing also at a young age, but at five she was already learning to sing and play instruments. Aurora Aksnes wrote Lucky at the age of 9, and Runaway at 11, and she started learning piano by herself very young, with a defective electric piano; she had to press the On button, and play only with one hand.
Anyway, those are indeed two geniuses, and Aurora Aksnes is a genius not only musically, but as a human being. And so is Angelina Jordan Astar.

Looking for information about Aurora is easy, but I like to give you something about her musicians...
She writes and produce most of her music herself, along with her main producer, Magnus, who is also her drummer. He do backing vocals as well.
Earlier, she performed with a man at guitar, Odd Martin. He is an artist on his own and do some backing vocals with her. The guitarist who most usually play with her now is Fredrik. He also do backing vocals.
Her main backing vocal is Silja Sol. She's an amazing artist who prefer to sing in Norwegian. She is often seen behind a bass or a keyboard. When Silja is absent, Aurora have Selma with her as backing vocal.
I could recommend a lot of songs for you, but the truth is that you could take any song by random, and you will find it amazing. Especially the live ones that is not phone-recorded. She is involved in producing her music-videos too, and they are equally stunning - visually. Aurora don't have "hit-music", she have songs that touches the heart and matters. Her fanbase (Warriors and Weirdos) are known to be one of the most devoted kind. Rings true to me, at least.

lovely Aurora. She is 24 years old singer/songwriter/producer from Norway. All I can say is her music is healing music, and that's the only SLIGHT box I can put her music in! I recommend her Nidarosdomen concert... live with a full orchestra and choir, the songs It Happened Quiet, Winderbird, Under Stars, Lucky.... or basically anything from that Nidarosdomen concert is pure magic.
Subscribed for Aurora and to watch your journey. Aurora has some great music videos but for her or is about live shows. She is simply amazing. There is a lot of quality live shows with her. You will love her. She is about love and positivity. She is also charming, and funny. The song that has had the biggest impact on me is Lucky.

Middle and right got married and left the band. Ole Martin started producing a friend of Aurora "Sigrid" who is an amazing artist herself. The band members who replaced them are also amazing, you will see them in live performances from 2017 -> and they are still together.
Aurora writes, sings, produces and arranges her music, but surrounds herself with people who can help her put her vision into life. She is well aware that one person can not do everything but will always have the final say.
One of the benefits of not being in the American music industry i guess, but also why i think she will never hit mainstream there.
She has over half a billion views on youtube and is big globally.
Personally i find she is one of the best artist out there today because her lyrics can always be interpreted in multiple ways, but she is also not afraid to have strong messages in her music. She has an opinion, a voice and will use it how she feels she can. She can't be put in a box either, she has music ranging from pop, to electronic to quite metal.

I have listened mainly to metal my hole life but lately a lot of very talented young women have popped up that make me question my musical taste. Aurora is definitely one of those. I always get tears in my eyes when she sings, it's like she sings from an ethereal place.

She grew up in the Norwegian forests which was her backyard. Parents called her home with a bell. She continued to get lost in the forest so she was taught to find her way home by the stars. She is self taught. She writes her own songs. She taught herself how to play the piano at a very young age. She plays by ear. Between her and Angelina most of my days are filled. She has a unique personality and basically refuses to be what most consider normal. She refuses to be controlled by her record labels and follows her own path. She is ten years older than Angelina. Both of them are on their own journey and refuse to be controlled. Have a wonderful journey. Lol

I recommended Runaway by Aurora, she wrote it when she was a child but it's amazing. I think you'll love it. She's also Norwegian like Angelina Jordan, she's 25 y.o. I think. Many of her songs are about subject matters, some hard, that she deeply cares about. There's something in Norway's water that they're producing great singers like them.
Sigrid is another female Norwegian artist you will love, she's more pop than the other two but she's great.

Aurora is hoping to release a new album this year ... It will be her 4th (or 3rd if you count the middle download only album as an EP). I can't believe there are still people that have no idea she exists.
Of all the new albums I anticipate this year that Aurora album is my most eagerly awaited one. Her albums so far are wall to wall phenomenally brilliant.... you know like some albums have a weak track, not with Aurora, well not so far anyway...
She also has a few covers which she puts her own spin on other peoples songs. But mostly she sings and produces songs she has written and a lot of her performances of her songs (her children as she calls them) have different tweaks and re-arrangements.
Her voice is phenomenal and her performances are captivating, she really inhabits these songs and pours her soul through them. Her genre is pop but her songs are very progressive. The songs are usually emotionally charged or they have a powerful message.
She is an introvert and you get the feeling she has tried to hold n to her own values, and she doesn't seem to be clouded by her success. She is very soft spoken and empathic, but not without humour and a whole bucket load of charm.
The world should be proud that this one has turned out right.
She is the voice of the spirit that calls out to Elsa on Frozen 2. So Disney has found her. It seems a lot more people need too find out about her too. Check out her songs and her interviews as well.
Also her band members are brilliant too I particularly like when she harmonises with Silja. But also with Magnus and the guys in her usual line up. Aurora creates amazing harmonies with all of them. Also check out her earlier performances, documentaries and interviews.

I've actually met her. She kinda passed by me walking hand in hand with her girlfriend (i assume.) I said hi and she smiles at me and said hi. I said i am a fan. She was walking on a crosswalk with her girlfriend so i diddent want to bother her that much so i never got the picture with her..
Shes an amazing songwriter. And she have some beautiful songs. I think one of them is murder song or something she did at the nobel peace prize. But i think my fav is running with wolves. But run away is also a good one. Its been a min since i listen to her so im not up to date on her anymore.
