Xpander just announced that they will be having the hybrid engine in the coming next generation. Don't think Unta BRV will go for it which by the way it looks cheap skate on the interior especially the folded down 3rd row seats which looks like a dumb design. Mr Mah, you forget to introduced that the Xpander has the telescopic as compared to Unta BRV - nil. Mr Eu Jin, both vehicles are MPV which were designed for family comfort driving not for racing, what's the point of those little paddle shifters installed on the 1.5L engine ! Despite this is the BRV's facelift model and yet there are so many things that needed to improve but still nothing as you have pointed out on the BRV.
This is really close comparison. I think Xpander have better AC...driven Brv up genting, power is good but AC almost full blast. In Vietnam in2019, booked Grab and ride on Xpander, mild setting but pretty cold. Seated 6 pax but the pull on flat road seems alright in city drive. Actually pretty close competition among two for me. Driver will appreciate the BRV power but all round comfort seem to be Xpander but driver nd to sacrifice driving a bit.
this should become a series, where these 2 guys fooling around (just like top gear) while reviewing the car. For this episode maybe they can have some challenges like moving things to test the practicality and acceleration with loads, or try to race across the KL to test maneuverbility (parking, u-turn) etc.
I can atest to the more comfortable seats in the XP.. i have slipped disc, upon test driving the XP, the pain went away... then came back when i sit inside my BRV... now i wish i should have waited for the XP last time...
i own BRV for 4 years now and i have never regretted my purchase. 2 airbags only? big deal. practice defensive driving at all times. and BRV is meant to be driven at appropriate speed not like a typical felali. 3rd seat row has adequate space for a typical adult. But i wished newer gen of BRV could have an AUTO CRUISE function instead of paddle shifters.
Agreed with you on that. At the time of it’s launch in 2017, it’s the best 7 seater compared to Alza, Avanza and exora. As for 2021, Aruz is the best for value and safety equipment imho. I also owned a 2017 BRV too.
Unfortunately defensive driving alone is not enough to keep us safe with all the maniacs on the road these days. Just watch some of the dashcam compilations and you'll know what I mean.
I've been driving the facelift brv for over a year now. The handling feels good. It accelerates better than most others in this segment. Driving is easy and very enjoyable. Feels stable and grounded at high speeds. But here is what I really don't like. - getting over speed breakers/bumpers feels stiff. - gets very noisy, esp on highways. - the seats are not comfortable as compared to cars in similar categories such as Toyota rush or Xpander.
In my opinion is BR-V is more better because it's fun to drive while the X-PEN created just for comfort. Also BR-V has clear designed as what he say that before "evergreen" which is more familiar to Malaysians
Xpander slightly better than BRV but if no need for 7 seats, better buy other B segment cars than these 2 like X50, Almera, Ativa, City etc. My 2 cents
In Indonesia, BRV is one of the least selling honda here. It actually got really crushed by Toyota Rush and Xpander. Honda could actually really do much better for this car. My family've been using BRV for about 5 years, I really like the driving, it's so fun and feels like a hatchback
I wonder why these days most auto reviews like u guys don't mention fuel consumption, don't you think this is one of the considering factor to choose a car?
Fuel consumption Is very not accurate and very subjective in this era.... When blogger or RUclips mention 50%town /cities drive 50 % highway drive, usually they are base in KL SELANGOR, Which the area town drive have may have lesser Traffic lights, wider Road, more lanes, Speed constantly more than acceleration, and these conditions of "town drive/ cities drives" in kl selangor may Consider as "highway drive" for melaka and other smaller cities.
When kl people saying full tanks 42litres Can run for 460km or 590kn, But when come to.melaka, due to Traffic lights, junctions, acceleration will be more than constant Speed, at the end Only manage to get 380 km. When melaka people saying highway drive, LEBUH AMJ which have more straight Road Can drive more constantly Speed, even thought there are some Traffic lights along the way which require stop and go, But for us, we Consider it as hw drive already, whereby when kl selangor drivers mention hw drive Is which means drive from kl to seremban, melaka, which can more constantly Speed and without Traffic lights for stop and accelerate...
