Discrimination and prejudice against ANY skin color is considered racism.

As a white guy, when I grew up in the 80's and 90's, we were told that race didn't matter. And guess what, none of us cared what colour our friends were. We all grew up together, played together, and shared all the parts of growing up. Now, I have passed this same thinking on to my children who are young and in school. Somehow, things have gone backwards this last two decades.

I grew up in the 90’s and 2000’s. It was the same for me. We didn’t care about skin color. We were taught to respect each other’s differences. HeII, I remember watching the original The Land Before Time movie and learning about overcoming racism to make friends of every race, by seeing Little Foot do the same with his dinosaur friends.

What happened, we still have racist whom are in their twilight years and still want things the way they used to be back when they were young and can’t stand evolution, that MAGA crap. Make America Great Again is the undoing of decades of progress which is now backfiring cause all people of color truly understand what was meant. Why send billions of our hard earned money thousands of miles away to another continent for War. But yet we have homelessness and poverty in our own country and unfair immigration tactics to people in South America on the same continent as us also? This is another form of racism and discrimination towards people of color, but yet we can send Billions to Caucasian’s in Russia? I would not feed my neighbors children and let my family starve. The government’s actions speak louder than words in this situation that’s why there is so much backlash. The accountability is not present, just like the government debt standoffs. Stop sending Billions overseas and take care of home country and continent first. Inflation is going up and they still want to give tax breaks to the ultra rich? What about the homeless and poor? Where is their breaks! We always reap what we sow. Just thank the so called forefathers for writing the constitution the way that they did and then changing things during Reconstruction, stealing land from indigenous people whom were here first and Jim Crow rules which are still in effect in many ways. GOD will make those whom used his name in vain and misinterpreted his words for all his creations on earth will Repent. GOD created the human species to be equal and we share the same DNA for a reason, that’s why any human man and woman can reproduce no matter the race. Cause we were created equal at first and will always remain that way. Knowledge for some was like eating the forbidden fruit and now the earth is getting destroyed because of the greedy racists thought they knew it alls. Take care and live better and teach better humans until we die!

People who no longer make their own judgements based on day to day, real life experiences, and rather zombie sheep who just sit indoors and watch and do/believe ANYTHING they are told.. then they repeat it to everyone they can using that social media and it continues to get worse until a race war begins.. blm are trying to recruit and arm as many delusional idiots as they can.. they are attempting to assemble an army, and genocide is their goal. And that's just one example of MANY bad things that will come from this. Technology nobody ever wanted or needed is causing this, we need to be set back many years and stay where we once were, it really was better back then.. but these kids don't know that.. it's orwells 1984 but not fiction.. everyone is a slave to the system that oppresses EVERYBODY.. we work ourselves into the grave to line others pockets and struggle to survive.. the poorest pay the most.. and told its just life.. it wasn't at one point in time.. none of us asked to be forced into this society where we are slaves to a system we hate.. we were lied to from birth and groomed to be disposable machines and get nothing good from it.. most people can't enjoy their life because money is a constant worry.. we are on a path to self destruction.

I grew up in a major city, in a community that was maybe 60% white and 30% black, in the 60s and early 70s. Most of the kids I went to school with lived in a four block radius of my house. Three of my friends were born on the same day as me. We all played together and got along. When we graduated high school, 70% of the graduates went on to college.
This was an INNER CITY HIGH SCHOOL.
The difference between then and now: we all had two parents in the home. Both parents worked. Black and white kids were held accountable for their actions. If I sassed an adult, they were on the phone to my parents and I was punished.
There was no "white priveledge" we were all priveledged our parents provided homes, food and love.
My mother's friend group was mixed and her best friend was black.
There wasn't racism because we were taught to respect each other.
Too bad those days are gone.

Just violent crimes based on race,. It had a category .for each minority against all the other minorites...black on white , white on black Asian on white and vise versa , Hispanic on white and vise versa ,black on Hispanic etc....each category had betwee 1000/2000. It came to less than 60000 approx with all gategories except from black on white , which left just under the 600,000 which was black on white Racially motivated violent hate crimes based on there colour and Michael Moore ,is sitting saying in interviews that black ppl shld be scared of us ,evn tho he is white ❓❓❓. Also I'm not out shooting ppl bcos of terrotority or a diss track Bt it's not colour it's content off individual characters but IV never owned a slave , none of my ancestors did either , my grandmother suffered alot thru her life , does that mean I have generatoral trauma 🥺, ❓ all love here for all my brothers and sisters from all over the world , I don't judge by race.🤷‍♂️ There are rotten apples in every race ,colour, minority, but most logical ppl are decent hard working ppl with goodness and love in there hearts.❤❤❤❤

@@TimeMasterOGWhat I find most annoying is that not every country has had the same history with colour discrimination as the US. I happen to live in a country where for most of my childhood and adult life we were all getting along pretty well. There are always some racists ofc, but they were fought and the general opinion was that we were just a bunch of people from varied backgrounds trying to live together as one people.
But the US is still such a dominant force in western culture that a lot of people still can't seem to help wanting to run after whatever they're doing.
So now we're going backwards and it's frankly all starting to feel more segregated. But self imposed by groups blaming us for things that just aren't true in this country. Like police brutality, it exists but as isolated incidents by individuals most often found guilty and punished for using too much force. It does not exist here as the default for a racist and deeply flawed and corrupted police force.
Here they tend to be rather diverse in my experience, when I do see them around I mostly see coloured officers. That's probably a local thing around the bigger cities, but on average I'd say the police are pretty representative.
One of my most uncomfortable experiences in recent years has been with two guys coming to install a new refrigerator.
They were late. It was that kind of annoying appointment where they tell you they'll come somewhere between 8am and noon. So I took time off and sat there waiting from 8am. Only for them to arrive at 1pm. Naturally we had contacted the company around noon and their boss told us they were 15min away.
So I was a little annoyed when that turned into another hour. They were both coloured and from two different countries that are common here. Doesn't really matter which, because I didn't give a crap about any of that in that moment. I was just relieved that they got there and wanted my new fridge installed so I could get on with my life.
I did expect them to come with some kind of explanation as to why they were so incredibly late, but they offered none. So bit of an awkward silence there, but I figured they had a rough day and politely welcomed them in and led them towards the kitchen.
Immediately I picked up that one was rather hostile towards me, though I couldn't fathom why.
They set off to work. Their boss did call and gave them an earful for being late and not communicating, which obviously didn't go down well. Then they realised they hadn't actually brought the right screwdriver. One called a colleague who said: well what do you want me to do about it, buy you one?
Having overheard this, I had by then scrounged together about 6 different screwdrivers which I offered to them. The guy with a problem with me didn't seem thrilled. The other one did thank me and we exchanged some small talk about it being a busy day for them, to alleviate some of the tension. I got out of their way and left them to it.
Back in the living room I hear the one guy shit talking in his own language and insulting me for being a white guy, using colourful terms he thought I wouldn't be able to understand.
Then he complained some more to the other guy about his boss and how unjust it was for him to be upset with them.
Now his whole attitude probably came from some previous experience and his boss was probably a jerk, but I was just being a friendly customer and I had had it.
He was acting like I was just another white oppressor forcing him to slave away for me.
No! I'm just a customer that bought a fricking refrigerator from a company that I paid to have installed and you chose to work for that company. Be a fucking professional about it already or choose a different job.
So I called him out on his behaviour, telling him his boss was not wrong to be displeased when I had been waiting since 8am and neither had any clue when they'd arrive because he hadn't bothered informing anyone. Nor was it very professional to call your customer racial slurs when they have invited you in their home and have been nothing but kind and helpful to you even when you forgot to bring your tools.
That shut him up and they wrapped it up and l escorted them out shortly afterwards.
It was very unpleasant being around him. Having done nothing wrong but getting treated like the enemy, while any disagreement instantly got interpreted as if it was about race.

In my town there has been a lot of theft from any and all people … retail workers have been assaulted and physically attacked when approaching someone who they knew stole . A friend of mine who worked at a thrift store actually got fired because she called someone out on stealing .
My mom even saw someone steal at a regular retail store not too long ago . She reported it to the manager but the manager told her she can’t do anything about it because her and her employees are at higher risk to approach the suspect than to let them steal because employees have been stabbed with weapons or physically assaulted due to people being on drugs or just unstable . The state I live in , the entire state , mandated that all the Good Will thrift stores shut down any dressing room use because people were stealing , doing drugs and trying to assault
Employees for busting them . In another state I lived in years ago , exact same issue but it was effecting basic places even Starbucks , etc. so PLEASE be extra careful!! If you have to approach a person you know stole , please have another employee or two go with you to talk to the suspect or just call the police . Please do not approach them by yourself . It’s becoming more and more dangerous with drug abuse these days and people carrying weapons .

When we became weak in the XX. century they did stick with us against National Socialist Germany and they did stick with us against Communist Russia, they knew they got their punishment from those dictatorships when they inevitably take over our country but they still did it.

An easy target to get beat up. He was tall for his age, overweight, and not exactly sharp in his comebacks and put downs. So he would protect me from physical attacks, and I'd protect him from the verbal attacks. We complimented each other well. His family was my second family, and mine his. We didn't care about skin color, we just wanted to play with Transformers, sled down our hill, talk about cool things we enjoyed, and things like that. We spend the night at each other's house, and I'd help him babysit his brothers and sister. The only thing that mattered was loyalty, and that we shared the same interests. Sure, we would make racial jokes to each other, but racial jokes are not racist jokes, and we knew the other wasn't saying them to be mean. The bullcrap that passes today is nonsense, and wouldn't have been tolerated in the 1980s on our school ground, and definitely not in my backyard. We'd think those Tik-Tokkers were retarded back then, as they are now. We wouldn't have made up things to be offended by back then. In the history people were separated from one another, resulting in unique, different races between humans, affected by the environment we lived in.
Today, as the world is globalized more than ever, people don't have the same kind of environmental limits. Today, you can travel and decide to live wherever you want in the world. A thing that was unheard of only a century ago.

Like all I want is to just have this peaceful neutral existence where people are people etc and I bother no one and no one bothers me. Though just seeing those POC only bills and statements that I've never heard or seen has just risen the level on concern cause that means it's not even big enough to hit major outlits cause it may be considered common thoughts. Discrimination is wrong, no matter who does it. Anybody can become a victim of discrimination, and anybody can be guilty of discriminating others, no matter what race, gender, sexuality or any other groups a person belongs to, since a person is part of more than one. Problem is, over time, whenever media did try to explain the wrongs of things like racism and sexism, it was always the same set up. The racists were white, the sexists were male, and the victims were everyone else, they didn't rotate things around, showing that anybody would be guilty of it, because a lot of people would have refused to accept the idea that such things were more universal.

I grew up in the early 60s with no TV, no home phone, no car I’m white and we were dirt poor, we lived in the projects, brought up by a single mother. What we did have was a loving mother who worked two jobs, we were taught to love everyone, get an education, don’t get pregnant without being married, work hard, when you fall down pick yourself up, and keep moving forward. My mother refused to think as a victim, we were not victims even though we were poor. Far too often people want to blame others for their failures, they fail themselves by not taking personal responsibility for 99% of their own failures. There is no one standing in your way to do your best in school, do your best in your job, no matter the job. Nothing happens overnight it takes several years of hard work. This applies to the majority of the population. You never know the road a person has walked, don’t assume they didn’t struggle with setbacks, don’t assume they were never poor, don’t assume the color of their skin had anything to do with your perceived idea of their success. If you want to wallow in self pity, victim hood, life isn’t fair, work is too hard, well you get out life what you put in.

As a white woman who was born in the late 80's, grew up in the 90's/00's in Birmingham the UK (one of the most multi-cultural places here) I've seen a shift towards negativity and racial divide in the last 5 years, possibly longer. From both sides, mostly online but also occasionally in the wild. I grew up truly believing that all races are equal because I grew up alongside other races and saw it for myself that while we came from different cultures/backgrounds, we are all essentially the same.
Social media and TikTok/RUclips play a huge part, mostly because everything in America filters over here even if it doesn't particularly apply. After that I think our schools/colleges are failing students and are teaching them that it's a good thing to be a victim and are no longer teaching them what they need to learn to be a productive member of society. Parents aren't parenting as well as they should either, society is crumbling.
'Fun' fact/'morbid' fact, Jeffrey Dahmer's while his victims were mostly black, there were a couple of Asian and white boys/men. While the handling of the case by law enforcement was handled badly (likely because of the indifference towards homosexuals and racism)... Dahmer was not racist. He found the victims attractive and wanted to 'keep' them, he dismembered and preserved the body parts so that they were always close. He even tried to make his victims into zombies of a sort by attempting to lobotomise them.
I haven't watches the Netflix series, but I studied Criminal Psychology and have an interest in the minds of killers. To answer your question about the race of serial killers, I'd say looking at the numbers that it's pretty much reflective of race distribution... as in there are just as likely to be black serial killers as white but as there are more white people in say America, there are far more white serial killers. Some of the most well known black serial killers include:
    - Samuel Little (convicted for 50 murders, confessed to 93)
    - Wayne Williams (convicted of killing two men, but suspected but not definitively proven to be the 'Atlanta Child Murders' killer, 28 children)
    - Mark Goudeau (9 murders, 15 cases of sexual assault, known as 'the Baseline Killer')
    - Paul Durousseau (7 murders and 2 attempted murders)
... there are are many more.
There was a report published in 1990 looking at the killers of the 20th century which concluded:
    NCJ Number 140479
    Author(s)
    M Newton
    Date Published 1990
Within 544 cases of serial murders, involving about 750 individual murderers and an estimated 5,336 to 6,368 victims.
74% of the murderers were from the United States
    84% were male
    8% were female
    82% were white
    15% were black
    2.5% were Hispanic
    87% operated alone
10% committed their crimes in pairs or groups
5% involved members of the medical profession
6% of the cases involved greed
8% of the cases involved practitioners of Satanism (since 1969)
"Some committed their crimes in specific geographic areas, while others travelled widely. Motives were often psychological, with strong sado-sexual overtones and evidence of compulsive behaviour."
TL;DR: Racism sucks and has no place in modern society from ANY race. Also looking at the numbers regarding serial killers, it's pretty much reflective of race distribution... as in there are just as likely to be black serial killers as white but as there are more white people in say America, there are far more white serial killers.

I mean, what I find so interesting is no one said anything about all of the otehr serial killer shows and movies where it was all white on white. Now the one time a show chooses a serial killer who preyed on black people they think this is something brand new? And that Dahmer is somehow the only serial killer that people are fascinated by? Humans have been fascinated by serial killers for decades since they became prominent in the 70's. Most of them are white, which makes white men look bad, not "better" than black men. The actor who played this particular sk had a huge fan base prior to this, so that's why there are so many "he's kinda attractive though..." comments, and in real life, Dahmer was attractive. It was part of how he was able to get men to trust him. But I don't know a single person who looks up to Dahmer or actually likes him for who he was as a person. And I also don't know anyone who didn't feel so sad and horrified for the victims. This show showcased the victims more than most, so I also don't understand that criticism. Maybe most people didn't finish the series?

When we first started going out, we got looks from both white and black people. The reactions from white people were passive and hushed, the black people was a bit more visual and up front.
My wifes parents are still together after 40+ years of marriage and they managed to buy a house back in the 70s and are still living in that same house today. Despite all the adversity they have and may experienced over the years, they still managed to succeed in life. Go to college. Have successful careers. Buy a home and start a family. The only group of people who are harming people of color are abortionists, college educated liberal rich white people, college educated black women who majored in black or womens studies, Black men who were raised by single mothers who were welfare recipients. Prior to welfare, nuclear black families ubiquitous and successful. After welfare, black families fell apart and in some cases non existent - especially in democrat controlled cities.

They saw black and they immediately thought poor or not educated. When my mother spoke to her over the phone once before they met, she said that my wife didnt sound black. There's a lot of history there, and it never really got better, but after all the time that has passed, I could have brough home anyone, and it wouldnt have been good enough. The rest of my family loved her and still loves her after all these years. My wfies parents never had a problem with me at all and we have gotten along great throughout the years. So much so that we've gone on vacation with them several times. So outside of my parents and brother, there wasnt a problem at all.

Of course we saw colour, we were just taught it had no meaning or importance on someone's worth or ability. I don't know what is better, but I do know that the racial divide seems to be getting bigger and more aggressive. We were raised by the golden rule "do unto others as you would have done unto you" how would it feel if reversed. If it wasn't good, it wasn't right. Now, people are accused or racism for parking wrong, or butting in line at a show. That's not racism, it's just rude. Racism used to be a BIG word. It wasn't thrown out without thought because it had big meaning and big ramifications. Now it's tossed out like candy and no one sees the ramifications because it's all behind the veil of screens and keyboards. The problem is it still has real world repercussions. If you are constantly accused of racism... how long before you either start to believe it or start to feel it.

That's how I go through life anyways, and what I try to instill in my children.

I had a few funny experiences in the early 2000’s when I was shopping in an Asian mega grocery store. When I went to check out, the cashier lady got really excited and told me I was the second white person today then gave me some free snacks. She always recognized me after that and put in effort to help me. Once I just grabbed a random fish sauce since I couldn’t read any labels and she gave me an ewww face, brought me back over to the aisle, grabbed a different one and told me it was much better. That is still the brand I use today!! Back then Americans hadn’t grown to love the culinary diversity each Asian country has and was greeted with a “that’s weird” attitude. I always felt she was excited to see me taking interest in something she was proud of.

I am a White person as well as a Native American. I am also an Anthropologist. I have never in my life look at someone on their color. I look at people by their actions. You are right, Black people were sold by their own people, but what most do not realize is Whites were sold by their own people as well. So was Native Americans, so was Asians, as well as people from India. Every race in this world was sold by their own race or by another race. We all come from a background of slavery in some form. We need to remember the past by acknowledging and respecting what our ancestors went through so we all would have a better life and stop living off their pain. In many cases I have seen and I was born in the 70's, but the most things I have seen was that people stating that others owe us this or that because their ancestors were slaves. Well my question is what about the other races. As said before we all come from a background of slavery. Stop blaming White people, Stop blaming Black people, stop Blaming all the races and start seeing all races as HUMAN BEINGS. It does not matter what color you are or what race you are we are all human beings. I have many friends all over the world and many different races and we all respect each other as human beings. Stop all this childish nonsense and grow up. This is a time we should all be joined together and not at each others throat. This is a time that hate should be no more. We all have faults. That is what makes us human. We should learn from out past and accept the past so we do not make the same mistakes in the future. But the Kens and Karen's of this world want us to be at each others throats like they are about to start a revaluation or something. It is time to stop the hate and become better humans. For those I see all the time in real life talking about races and promoting the hate. I always make a statement that they are the idiot and they and the people like them are the problem of this world, they are what is killing this world and I walk away. People enjoy drama and cant live without it. They have to have it as well as having control over something. Why follow someone for their own needs when you can lead and be an inspiration. All people be safe out their, there are some real idiots out there and the real human beings need to stick together. JoJo keep doing what you doing mate.

They are all shades of skin tone and the idea is supposed to be to warn people of what happened and what to look out for, but the victims almost always get lost in the translation. The "beware of the monster" has sadly become the big message and their victims become a secondary.
