What a simply amazing find! It’s a pity it is just falling to ruin. I can see it repaired and clean!
How could this happen?? Often wonder if it’s a battle between heirs of an estate?

After the last couple of houses that were total disasters it is refreshing to see one that is still in good shape and that has not been vandalized . This one was a great find Kappy . I hope someone is able to finish what the last owner started and make it liveable again . I liked what they did with the floor on the porch .It's becoming almost cliche that these homes have a piano in them . This is one of those places that it would be fun to have someone restore it and invite you back to see it when finished.

It's a shame how we American's want to plow over and eliminate our past for the sake of a noisy wall mart developer. There are zillions of these really old houses still being rented with the cheezest cheap updates just lingering on waiting for some big developer to come along and plow them under, it seems our past is nothing to be so proud of and continue.

Wow! I assumed the last owner had passed. The house seemed to have awesome bones, and the extensive work done to restore it was evident everywhere you looked. I couldn’t imagine any other reason for abandoning this gorgeous place. We always say we wish someone would restore some of these homes, but THIS one looks doable! Somebody snatch this one up and bring it back to life, then invite me over for iced tea and finger sandwiches on that deck! ❤

This is a shame because this house is actually livable. They don't make houses like they use to, they were made to last. It's wonderful to see a young person that appreciates the beauty of old houses. I grew up in a house with the same hardware on the doors that these houses have and we had the farm sink and a combination wood and gas stove. I hope you'll keep sharing these homes because I prefer yours over others.

This house is in amazingly good condition for being so old! I’m stunned actually. Wallpaper looked new, paint wasn’t peeling bad, doors and walls and ceiling all in good shape. Even the doorbell sounded good. The bed in the one bedroom downstairs did make me suspect some squatters may have been in there. Kind of creeped me out a little. But overall this was a gorgeous house. Could really feel the 1850’s in there.

What a fantastic house. That’s a little bit of a departure for you. A place that still has nice furniture in it. If that were in St. Louis, the minute, those people left that furniture would all be moved out of there by somebody. That chime on the front door is worth probably almost $100. That glass in the window. Fantastic. And how about that old wallpaper? Fantastic. And then asked to be the tallest staircase I’ve ever seen. I would have to have my bedroom on the main floor. Those plank floors are also something really great. It’s all that expandable ductwork up in the attic. I put in a lot of that stuff in my day as a sheet-metal worker. Not as efficient as hard pipe so cool, I love the porches. I seldom go to my computer to leave a comment, but this one was worth telling you how much I appreciate you. You’re doing a great job. I watch you all the time. I can’t see why somebody wouldn’t wanna move into their house and fix it up. I’d be ready to pack my bags today.

Love this house! It couldn't take too much to fix it up, I didn't see any roof leaks. It looks like someone was trying to fix it up.
It was staged like they were trying to sell it and couldn't. Such a neat old house!

Beautiful! I love the little bird nests tucked in random corners. The doorknobs are stunning, too. Someone loved this house. I hope someone will again…soon. Thank you, Kappy😊

Something about this house was very healing to my soul. I would most definitely live there if it was cleaned up and put back in working order. I also loved the photography that you took without having to speak it was so wonderful to hear the crickets in the background and the peace alongside the visual was breathtaking for me.

Wow! This home needs a lot of TLC. It still can be saved, Who ever owns this home should hire a good contractor, and fix it to its former glory.

Hopefully fix it to its original color palette...... Because the color choices were straight up puke-worthy! 😆
Other than that..... The place is gorgeous and solid! And it deserves a good owner ! 🙂

Wow Mr Kappy! I do believe you have found a gem! The wall paper, the furniture, the fireplaces, OMG!!! If only someone would buy it for me, I'd sure appreciate it! 😮😊 Kidding of course. But yes, this place captures a time long gone. The wood in the attic, the original trees someone cut and they havent had to replace much of it. Wonderful find Mr Kappy! Thanks for taking me along!!!!
