Was camping on Flagstaff Lake with my girlfriend this past week and low and behold we had the opportunity to meet Kappy and his girlfriend camping on the next site. We were talking and it came up what he did as far as his videos, I was so impressed. These kids were so nice to talk too and spend time with, keep the great videos coming Kappy!
Was such a pleasure meeting y’all!! You guys were the kindest camping neighbors could ask for!! Hope we meet again someday haha! Thank you very much!! And much appreciated for watching!! :)
When I see these big beautiful homes I always wonder how it was decorated by the original owner. Love all the dark trim, the old doors and knobs, the front door and side window. Truly a gem from the past.
It would definitely be a house someone could rescue, as it appears to be structurally rock solid. The yucky renovations could be removed and make this into a lively home again!
Nice house , people mess them up trying to make apartments out of them , probably be a housing development before long ,these homes have character to them, good explore
Wow-the woodwork and floors refinished, walls redone, kitchen updated...what a fabulous home! Great work, Kappy-can you see yourself on that porch? All crows welcome, too. Hi, Ruby!
Another great explore, thanks! When you began by stating it had been converted to apartments I expected the worst but the wooodwork on the first two floors was amazing. That first floor was built for entertaining. The third floor was a nightmare, but I expected far worse. Thanks once again.
This is a very solidly built house . It's too bad someone can't restore it as it has great potential . I saw some things lying around indicating that at some point someone may have tried to start a restoration but gave up . Also someone at some point had gone to great lengths with the stenciling around the tops of the walls . Beautiful woodwork and hardwood floors as well . I don't know who was more startled . You or the vulture .
Wow! As you were walking through I was imagining what I would do to restore it. It’s beautiful or was beautiful. The woodwork, doors and large windows were stunning. If only I would hit the lottery:). Thanks Kappy!
For a second I thought it was the one I lived in, but last I knew they wanted to tear it down to make a gun range. I left ME for good in 2016 and miss the beautiful old houses there. Thank you for sharing this gem.
I love it already!! When I was 6 I lived in an old house with pocket doors , push button light switches & a twist bell doorbell in the main entry door, woodwork galore, my favorite kind of house!!
My first comment on your channel. Definitely a beautiful, solidly built home. At 8:09 in video, there is an old bread box on the table. As soon as i saw it, i thought it looks just like an old bread box that was my Grandmother's & i still have it on top of my fridge. To be sure, i pausef the video, carried my cell out to kitchen & compared to mine. And, Yes- the Exact same bread box!!! Probably somewhere in the 1930s to 1950s time frame. Small world!!!
Wow! What a beauty! If it's structurally sound, and someone has enough money to put into it, as well as perhaps the skills to do some of the work on their own, this could make a great family home again. Looks kind of like my old family home we had to sell because I had neither the cash, nor skills, nor ability to keep up with it & renovate it. I miss it, but now it will have someone who can give it the care I never could.
OMG! Kappy I cracked up when you opened the bedroom door and that turkey vulture started flapping its wings😂😂 you are genuine that's for sure! And that wasn't concrete that's limestone blocks. Not exactly cheap when it was built. But a beautiful home. Victorian homes were just amazing. And with that view I'd say the owner had a schooner and could look out to the bay and see it at anchor. Not uncommon in that region.
I always feel an incredible sadness when I see these old homes abandoned. This one in particular was a finely built house. It would still be standing and lived in had it been loved and cared for when things began to deteriorate.
This place is massive and gorgeous. It appears to be worth restoring. I"d love the opportunity to do that. Thank you Kappy. You did it again. Great find!!
Thanks for adding the "cc"s. I am hearing impaired and cannot follow unless they are on your videos. So thank you for including them. Love your channel
21:27 Bright green and turquoise blue are such beautiful porch ceiling colours. They really need to make a comeback. Porch swings were the 💣 for talking.
Hey Kappy! Wow. Beautiful old place. So happily surprised that nobody painted the woodwork! Ashame its days are probably numbered. Lots of character and charm! Thanks for the look around. Stay safe! ✌️
Nice home. The stenciled border is pretty and keeping with the age of the house. The box of Frosted Flakes in a room full of curling, peeling paint was ironic! The woodwork and spaciousness of the rooms was dreamy! Thank you Kappy. I would loved to have tackled this one in my younger years starting out.
Thank you for looking at the date on the cereal box to give us an idea around the time this house was abandoned. And thanks again for another great video! :)
What a magnificent home! I appreciate how you pause in certain places to give the viewer the chance to imagine the home's beauty back in its glory days. You are a brave explorer. Nice video.
What a place. It would have housed a very large family. I hate to see updates made on these old places. Let the old charm shine through! Another great video Mr Kappy!!! Thanks for taking me along with you!
Hello Kappy! You've found another interesting explore, complete with tour guide 😲! What an imposing old house this is! It makes a person think of a fortress! If they do tear it down, it's going to be quite a job! That'll be a shame, because of the history you shared in the description you wrote. (I wonder sometimes if I'm the only one who even bothers to read those). Some of the questions people leave could have been answered if they'd read your short paragraph about each house. As for me, I read that information before I even start the video. There's a lot of good background info there and I appreciate you taking the time to write it. There! Got that off my chest! Now, for the house. I agree with you, Kappy. This house seems to be remarkably clean and relatively tidy. That is odd, as it is so close to a large, busy highway. It's a lovely house, with all the millwork. Those stairs are so sturdy! There wasn't so much as a squeak when you went upstairs! These rooms are so bright and spacious! It wouldn't take that much money to complete the renovation on this house. I wonder what that situation is. I really like the green room with all its angles. It makes me think of that green treehouse room we found in that oddly constructed mansion in the forest a couple of months ago. This is a confusing house, for sure. It leaves many unanswered questions. Firstly, how in the world did somebody wrangle that fridge up that narrow staircase? It really doesn't look like it would fit! Oh! That poor bird! You scared her half to pieces! I guess she's thinking that she's found a great place to raise her babies. Maybe she'll come back, especially as she may have eggs already. You found us a great house this time, Kappy, my friend. It's very sound, as far as water damage goes. It's not trashed up or painted with vulgar obscenities. All in all, this one was well worth the explore and I'm glad you took us through it. Thanks so much! All is well here, except for the occasional head-scratcher, like how did he even manage to put my grandmother's cookware in the microwave to begin with? Fortunately, I smelled hot plastic and ended his attempt to boil water before something caught fire. No harm done, thank Heaven. I hope you are able to keep up your exploring through the coming winter. It's supposed to be a bad one. Until we meet again, take good care of yourself and the Ruby girl! Lots of love from Tennessee, Becca
Thank you for reading the description!! I appreciate it!! Fantastic observations as always!! Good point about the fridge lol what a sight that would’ve been!!
So glad you caught the microwave before a fire or something!! Happy to hear things are good otherwise!! Yes have lots of cool places too check out this winter!! Maybe I’ll get snow in a few house videos! Thank you so much for watching and the kind words!!
What a great view.Seeing all the stuff left behind made me smile.i still like the house you explored where you found all those gossip magazines just laying on the bed.
So many older homes in Maine just end up falling apart or get demolished for something "shiny and new". I wish more people moving here would consider buying these places and restoring them. I am doing that with an 1800 farmhouse. It will take me quite a few years to "fix" all the previous failed repairs but she's got good bones. It's just the way they built homes to last so long ago. Thank you for the tour!
Very nice house. Wood trim on the doors and windows is beautiful. Nice staircase and thanks for NOT opening the Fridge. That room was the vultures room. Great explore of this old beauty. Bummer those doors to the basement were padlocked. I bet that door you tried to open was for the basement. Love these old houses.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love these old houses, with the dark wood doors, staircase, etc. It must've been quite the mansion at one time. Our old farmhouse was built in 1919, and I vlove the old, dark woodwork. Pillars too, and it's still so beautiful. If I had tons of $, I'd restore this one!! So sad to see it go to the dust!
Beautiful house with beautiful features but the upstairs top floor not so much 😉 sad that it's going to be torn down. Stay safe see you on the next one 👍🇨🇦
Just tuned in! Am excited to see what ya see! We looked forward to your posts each week! I know it’s more work then people realize! Thanks for powering thru! I explored when I was younger & it’s a thrill fer sure!! Thanks Kappy!!!
yay new house, i know its going to be a good one, kappy u always find the best farm houses, especially the ones from the 60, 70s and 80s...i like the 90s farm houses, but its something about those from years ago....very touching and moving...makes me think about when i was young and how my mother lived in a type of farm house back before i was born...
Urban Exploring With Kappy thanks for sharing this video with me my friend i really enjoyed this video this house looks like it could be still lived in it just needs some work i hope this house could be saved this house was a old farm house at one time kappy in the 1900-1920 you said above and God Bless and thanks again for sharing this i can't wait to see your next video.
Great find Kappy !! I enjoyed your vedio of this house !! I wish this house could be mine... I would definitely keep it and fix it up as a bed and breakfast... I love the woodwork, the old door knobs and the picket doors... I would definitely keep all of that...This home could be beautiful again... I wished i was rich and had the money to save this home .. Thanks for sharing this home with us !! Until the next exploration stay safe out there Kappy and take care ... To bad we couldn't get in the basement !!
This house would have been beautiful back in it's prime for sure. Nice big house with room to grow. Too bad it will be demolished though probably has quite a few unforeseen problems too. When you scared that vulture she/he flew off and was sitting on 2 eggs hopefully it comes back soon. Thanks for sharing and you have a great day
You're in MAINE! Awesome! So many old incredible abandoned homes up there. Check out the Unity to Belfast area. Whatever that block style foundation they were going for, .. looks like it was a bad idea, especially with icy Maine winters.
Another great...and different house tour. I like this house. It has basic, no frills detailing for a house of that era. Simple doors, moldings, railings, etc., yet detailed enough . Also, woodwork and windows seem to be in great shape. The house doesn't seem to be sagging anywhere (?). Hey, a slate roof too! This sort of cinder block, with the "hand hewn" surface look, was popular around this time. Curious thing, they used it here for the whole exterior walls, not just the foundation level, as was usually the case. Even the small pillars are old cement, how cool. When going apartment, the upper floors were probably somewhat rearranged to accommodate for separate digs. Gee wiz, was a black vulture? They have like a five foot wingspan!
Right!! The cinder block construction was really fascinating and not the typical basic cinder block house you’d see! Definitely was a pricey house when first built I’d think! Thank you very much for watching!! Great observations!! :)
I can't believe no one has tried to salvage that beautiful word molding and pocket doors. Too bad, the old girl doesn't really seem trashed inside, and it did look like maybe someone thought about fixing it up once by the dry wall in one of the front rooms. Thank you Kap!
What a beautiful house,it could easily be fixed up Solid wood floors doors stairs ,and love the wallpapers, porches,it could easily be fixed up and beautiful again.👍🇺🇸❤️
Cool old house. Always a bit disappointed when they get divided up but I have to say it gives the house that many more memories than if just one owner occupied. Creates all kinds of strange rooms, hallways and blocked off walls. Always wonder if the tenents were friendly. Did babies grow up here? Did old people share their home to make ends meet. Thanks as always.❤
True unfortunately very common with old houses it seems! Great points!! This house has held many lives!! Thank you for the kind words and watching!! :)
23:46 Rivers are so Beautiful yet can cause such devastation. I always have to live somewhere close to water. Although I never want to clean up the aftermath ever again.
This house has some really nice bones to it. If it wasn't for taking care of my elderly mother... I would be getting the location from you to this house.
My 1916 farmhouse has those same doorknobs and back plates. Love mine! They sold them in 1915 in the sears roebuck catalog. They sold for 1.50 a set back then.
Such a great explore Kappy‼️Those giant on the 1st floor windows are awesome & the cinder block it was built with-awesome❗️Maybe they climbed out the windows to get onto the 2nd floor porch? Not sure when you explored this but it’s a classic❣️
I’ve restored houses in similar decrepitude and brought them back to life. My best friend has moved to Maine and this would be the perfect project for me next. But I’m dying too young and can’t do it. I hope someone will love that house as much as I would. I’d do it in a second!
I recently saw this house in one of your videos. I would love to move into it and bring it back to life for many more years. I fell in love with it. I wish I knew how to reach the owners to talk to them.

It’s was so nice meeting y’all, Thank you for your hospitality and great conversations!!! Safe travels :)
I totally agree, it was a pleasure meeting them both and I hope to see them again, such a nice couple. I enjoyed your newest video Kappy
Wow. That's cool. How ironic
Whooptydo😮
When I see these big beautiful homes I always wonder how it was decorated by the original owner. Love all the dark trim, the old doors and knobs, the front door and side window. Truly a gem from the past.
Agreed would love too take a Time Machine back and see this place when it was just built!! Thank you very much for watching! :)
I agree
It would definitely be a house someone could rescue, as it appears to be structurally rock solid. The yucky renovations could be removed and make this into a lively home again!
Well said! Could definitely still be saved! Thank you very much for watching! :)
Nice house , people mess them up trying to make apartments out of them , probably be a housing development before long ,these homes have character to them, good explore
It really bothers me when these beautiful homes are converted to apartments. I guess I have no legitimate reason. But I just feel that way
They really knew how to build homes back then great 👍 video thanks
Wow-the woodwork and floors refinished, walls redone, kitchen updated...what a fabulous home! Great work, Kappy-can you see yourself on that porch? All crows welcome, too. Hi, Ruby!
Agreed! That second story porch was heavenly!!! Thank you so much for watching!! :)
Now that house has true renovation potential.
Agreed thank you for watching! :)
Another great explore, thanks! When you began by stating it had been converted to apartments I expected the worst but the wooodwork on the first two floors was amazing. That first floor was built for entertaining. The third floor was a nightmare, but I expected far worse. Thanks once again.

Good point haha the vulture upstairs definitely startled me!! Great observations! Thank you for watching!! :)
Kappy's favorite 😍 show on PBS #thisoldhouse 🤣
Wow! As you were walking through I was imagining what I would do to restore it. It’s beautiful or was beautiful. The woodwork, doors and large windows were stunning. If only I would hit the lottery:). Thanks Kappy!
If only I played it.
I love pocket doors, I worked In place that had them, I felt so intreged. Always love these homes.
DEFINITELY A RESTORABLE HOUSE!!! Still SOLID after 100+ years!
Completely agreed! Thank you for watching! :)
What a beautiful old house. Thank you for the tour..
For a second I thought it was the one I lived in, but last I knew they wanted to tear it down to make a gun range. I left ME for good in 2016 and miss the beautiful old houses there. Thank you for sharing this gem.
Something about these places, they are so interesting.

Hello from Flagstaff Maine, it was so awesome meeting you two 😊
Howdy from back down in maryland! Was so nice meeting y’all! Thank you for watching!! :)
Always such a shame to see these houses left to rot. Beautiful old house.
OMG! Kappy I cracked up when you opened the bedroom door and that turkey vulture started flapping its wings😂😂 you are genuine that's for sure! And that wasn't concrete that's limestone blocks. Vulture was running the show at that house
Greed never pays in the end! I hate greed! No house should ever be made into apartments ever! It should be against the law! ❤ #loveoneanother
This place is massive and gorgeous. It appears to be worth restoring. I"d love the opportunity to do that. Thank you Kappy. You did it again. Great find!!
Surprised no one has hauled off that expensive sub zero refrig
Hi Kappy! Another great find and I see the Vulture is sitting up there just waiting for you 🤣😂🤣😂. 🌻
Yes indeed haha! Thanks for watching!! :)
With that slate roof and no water damage this house could be more easily restored. Looks like someone started on it! Huge home!😊
Definitely, that roof, plus the porches, have kept the weather out
Totally agree! Thank you very much for watching! :)
yep I reckon that too, that someone owns this home and was going to renovate, so no need for unwanted visitors to trespass.
Thanks for adding the "cc"s. I am hearing impaired and cannot follow unless they are on your videos. So thank you for including them. Love your channel
21:27
Bright green and turquoise blue are such beautiful porch ceiling colours.
They really need to make a comeback.
Porch swings were the 💣 for talking.
Maine! You're really going far to explore! Nice old house. Too bad it probably will be torn down.
Hey Kappy! Wow. Beautiful old place. So happily surprised that nobody painted the woodwork! Ashame its days are probably numbered. Lots of character and charm! Thanks for the look around. Stay safe! ✌️
Agreed! Always love too see woodwork left untouched! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Thats a shame another house bites the dust and it was beautiful. Great find Kappy stay safe!
Yes I did love that juxtaposition of peeling paint and Frosted Flakes haha! Thank you very much for watching!! :)
Nice video.
Love the entry and staircase. Upstairs bedrooms were pretty big too. Massive house! Looks like it has a lot of property too! Thank you! -John
Gorgeous I'd love to take that house down all the way and restore it on my property. Big beautiful and grand.😊😊😊😊
Lots of love from Tennessee,
Becca
Thank you for reading the description!! I appreciate it!! Fantastic observations as always!! Good point about the fridge lol what a sight that would’ve been!!

Makes me sad ❤ some family used to love that old home 😢 it’s beautiful
Very cool 😎🆒 old house 🏠🏡 I wonder if it could be saved you find the best places kappy
Beautiful original wood doors and trim.
Love all the dark wood. The house is beautiful.
What a beautiful house that could be fixed up just fine to live in you allways find the most beautiful places to film so well done i love you channel.
What a great view.Seeing all the stuff left behind made me smile.i still like the house you explored where you found all those gossip magazines just laying on the bed.

Was a nice home back in the day !!!! Thanks Kappy for a great video !!!!!
Thank you for watching!! :)
OMG what a great house!
It was interesting to see the woodwork and doors in the house. I live in a 1910 farm house in western Maine and have the same doors and wood trim.
Now, THAT, is a nice house!
Right off the bat, it's beautiful
I love these old houses, with the dark wood doors, staircase, etc. It must've been quite the mansion at one time. Our old farmhouse was built in 1919, and I vlove the old, dark woodwork. Pillars too, and it's still so beautiful. If I had tons of $, I'd restore this one!! So sad to see it go to the dust!

I really appreciate that!! So glad you enjoy! Thanks for tuning in and watching! Much appreciated!! :)
Another house that will be demolished. Thanks again for sharing.
That beautiful wood , you'd think someone would want that
Definitely a place I'd like to have. Wonderful tour.
Me too! Much appreciated for watching! :)
That’s definitely a house that could be remodeled or brought back to life. Specially the location beautiful.
Finally got to see one of "your" vultures up close.
I'm still collecting the magazines from the 70-90s, and will b ordering more very soon ❤
Beautiful old house 🏚. I believe that this house could be restored. But they will probably demolish it. Thanks for sharing 👍 😊 😀.

Nice explore. Thanks for your time and effort.
Thank you for watching and the kind words! Makes me happy to hear people enjoy these places too! :)
Nice to see the old house does not have nasty graffiti , very nice .
Dude! That candle holder on the door frame to the bird you spooked. That is interesting it was left even after the apartments were put in.
Good eye! I didn’t even notice that! Thanks for watching!! :)
@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 Oh heck yeah! Love these videos man! You do great work capturing these old homes!
Lol awww i love those birds glad he only left😊
Beautiful home. Thanks for sharing!
Agreed! Loved it! Thank you for watching!!! :)
So much unpainted wood, that’s Amazing!
This house would have been beautiful back in it's prime for sure. Nice big house with room to grow. Too bad it will be demolished though probably has quite a few unforeseen problems too. When you scared that vulture she/he flew off and was sitting on 2 eggs hopefully it comes back soon. Thanks for sharing and you have a great day
So much can be salvaged from this house . Especially those doors.

Simply stunning.
I can't believe no one has tried to salvage that beautiful word molding and pocket doors. Too bad, the old girl doesn't really seem trashed inside, and it did look like maybe someone thought about fixing it up once by the dry wall in one of the front rooms. Thank you Kap!
Depends on wood species
Much appreciated for watching!! Thanks!! :)
What a beautiful house,it could easily be fixed up Solid wood floors doors stairs ,and love the wallpapers, porches,it could easily be fixed up and beautiful again.👍🇺🇸❤️
Converted into apartments. That means the house is all cut up. I hate that.
Thanks Cappiefor another great tour!
I know you were “upset” that there was a padlock on the basement entry🤣😂…after the vulture tho, you deserved a break😂House is salvageable
Beautiful house .
Love this house ❤️
Thank you for watching! :)
Very good house.

Rivers are so Beautiful yet can cause such devastation.
I always have to live somewhere close to water. Although I never want to clean up the aftermath ever again.
Them doors trimming and floors reminds me of my old house here in Milwaukee WI
This house has some really nice bones to it. If it wasn't for taking care of my elderly mother... I would be getting the location from you to this house.
Love this place…hard to see it in decline
Ha! I’d recognize that Old Bay tin from 100’ away! And I’ll bet it’s still good! 🦀
Love the vulture on the roof!
Me too! Made for a cool shot haha! Thanks for watching! :)
My 1916 farmhouse has those same doorknobs and back plates. Love mine! They sold them in 1915 in the sears roebuck catalog. They sold for 1.50 a set back then.
The downstairs doorknobs are like mine.
wow what a find
aw :/ looks like there was a half hearted last ditch effort to fix it up that stopped
Thank you for watching!! :)
BTW California has ruined Nashville which is why I am ready to leave my home town.
I recently saw this house in one of your videos. I would love to move into it and bring it back to life for many more years. I fell in love with it. I wish I knew how to reach the owners to talk to them.
So sad its a solid old house that should be restored and be a beautiful old home.
