    Definitely time to step away from the budget turbo and step up to a Bullseye or Comp.
    I know you're aware but, for those that aren't,
    A higher quality turbo gives you,
    A more efficient compressor (= more air @ less heat) can make more power @ lower boost.
    A larger, more efficient turbine.

    Hell Yeah brother! Big congrats to broke that 1000hp barrier, I LOVE inline 6's in general, of all types and sizes but the fact that this is an american one, that's to far from the development of a RB, or JZ, o barra engine, same with the aftermarket support, is just amazing what you've done to this platform dude, and I really thank you for the time and effort you, your family and the people that make parts for the engine spent, seriously. I hope in the future to see even more progress and upgrades you can do to the platform, a bigger turbine housing is a must i think with that backpressure. Great Job buddy! Now enjoy the Car and make it go to the 8's!

    Way to go Calvin!! Not to sidestep into a tuning debut, but do you think it's probably just as safe on a sliding scale to drop boost another 2 psi, and up the advance another+2 deg? I know a lot of tuning classes advise to run boost over advance, and every engine has its sweat spot, but that thing seemed to respond pretty sharply to a few more degrees... Makes you wonder where the best mean amount of boost could be for triple digit hp.
    Edit* all agreeable on bigger turbo... Backing the advance off in exchange for better exhaust flow, and more boost is probably the wisest street worthy decision.

    • @Calvin-Nelson
      @Calvin-Nelson  12 часов назад +3

      I prefer to be very soft on timing. 10hp per degree is decent, but 5hp per degree is definitely not worth it. I just like to give it lots of room. The Dyno is not the track. What might work ok on the Dyno for a 3 second pull might be catastrophic for a 9 second pull. I've been burned by chasing the red mist of timing.

      @Calvin-Nelson;
      Certainly the upgrades with a larger turbocharger are beneficial also with other means to lower exhaust backpressure.
      There are other means to improve combustion efficiency via VVT as Brent & Jaime do at PFISpeed within Honda, Toyota and other engines.
      Also, as mentioned several times, the fuel choice with high to highest ethanol content is the superior choice before any methanol injection or full methanol use.
      Also seriously look at water injection via David Vizar along with improvement via his experience, expertise, details within head porting, air flow improvements for intake and exhaust too.
      There seems to be some minor differences between this version in the Camaro compared with the wagon. Perhaps many of the viewers would appreciate the comparisons, results at the Dynometer and track too - some of these were shown at the track together previously.
      All The Best, Sincerely :-)

      Look at the numerous successes with Toyota 1JZ & 2JZ engines [2.8-3.0], Nissan, Ford Barra, also GM and Ford 250, 300 CID, Mopar 225 CID along with new "Hurricane" too !!
      If You view the World Cup Finals race from 2022, 3 then this year, You will see a number of vehicles with 2JZ [3.0L], which achieve much higher power, 5.45-6.2 sec 1/4 mi ET, 200-250+ MPH TS too !!

      When You choose better fuel with high ethanol to highest, 85-98% then You will the range with advanced timing to achieve much more power and safely too.
      The common 'gasoline' fuels, even racing versions have inconsistent combinations of many hydrocarbon fuels. Thus, results in inconsistent burning, combustion, accordingly.
      Thus, with a consistent ethanol fuel, the results are consistent, safer, better burning, combustion with significantly more power as proven by everyone from within chemistry, physics, engineers, engine builders, racers, and mechanics too.

      Same!!!! A few 3.7 questions first balance shaft delete any info on what rpm the vibration is bad and if it clears after it surpasses it. Anyone delete the balance shaft? How much hp would you expect a stock 07 3.7 to be able to hold, how much if built with forged internals and valves/ cams I’m wondering the combo to buy with your shim kit. Last what standalone and turbo size? I’m really considering building the 3.7 for a time attack setup.

    It looked like y'all were loosing fuel pressure on the top end

    Running out of fuel pump? Looks like fuel pressure drops off and injector duty cycle shoots way up towards the end of that last run.

    What a time to be alive!🎉
    Would it be feasible to back off the boost and add 2° more to hit 1000? Which would be safer?

      Eh. Boost could definitely be backed off. I just don't like chasing the red mist of timing. It just needs more turbo.

    Twin Turbo your car like the Dodge Ram inline 6 and BMW inline 6. BTW great job on reaching 1000HP! Keep proving that GM shouldn't have dropped the inline 6

    Just a request…… I have a Miata……. I also have a weird idea of the vortec 5 cylinder swap….. if it ain’t to much to ask, would you be interested in playing around with one of them and see what happens? Good or bad I love the content and love the “being different” type of thing cuz i align with that myself. Not one to do something cuz it’s the new big awsome thing…. If not interested I get it and understand but im curious what the 5 cylinder engines will do and also just love the dang sound of them about as much as the 2j 4200 sound
