The Milk Carton Kids are the best kept secret in the music industry.
You're close - it's The Wood Brothers
NO ITS LEWIS CAPALDI!!!!!!!!!
SHHHHH
Agreed. I really like their dry humor.
Because they didnt sell their souls.
The Wish Milk You Carton Were Kids Here! This made me laugh. Beautiful cover of a beautifully despondent song!
+Ali Bracken Yeah, the typography is terrible. Luckily, the music more than makes up for it.
Cranston, unfortunately, you are reading left to right, but the name is up down from the left to the right
This isn't despondent. I't's crucial. Right now. What does it mean to you?

I first heard this in an art gallery and asked the assistant to play it again. The Pink Floyd original is one of my favourite songs and I think The Milk Carton Kids have created a beautiful cover version.
This ones better...
This is what it would sound like if Simon and Garfunkel played a pink floyd song. Loved it!!
My coworker and I were literally just saying that! Lol, nice.
Heard this song at work the other day and spent the next 10 minutes scouring the internet trying to see if Simon & Garfunkel reunited and made a cover of this song. Regardless, it is a beautiful cover.
god fucking dammit, i love these guys so much. i still can't believe this was live in front of one microphone
They were at a concert I saw in April, and I really like them. Emmy Lou Harris came out and sang a couple of songs with them. When she left the stage, one of the guys turned to the audience and said, "And that's why our job is so much cooler than yours.". So neat.
I have tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat just from the sheer beauty of this performance.
Talent , personality , originality , the list goes on . Glad i found them here. Why aren't they known in the UK? Come over here guys and sing your hearts out . Your welcome .
So beautiful! I heard it at Hardly Strictly in San Francisco. I loved the crowd reaction -- sort of a slow-motion series of gasps as, one-by-one, people recognized the song and smiled/clapped. I came home and frantically googled, looking for it. Nada. And now you've make it available. Thank you for meeting my TMCK addiction.
same!! the unexpected cover discovery was a great treat that swept across our audience too!

yep saw them perform it at HSB as well but then couldn't find it anywhere.
These kids seem to have been found, so will be hard to find them on milk cartons anymore
Excellent version. Took too long for me to enjoy it. Thanks Spotify
So amazingly beautiful and flawless I just assumed this was a studio version until the end when I heard the applause.
rmnp60 rmnp60 they are so impeccable live, that they have that effect.
What a cover! The MCK nailed it
It's difficult to compete with Pink Floyd, but freaking WOW!! These guys are so good, love everything they do! 💜
The same, original gem from Pink Floyd, with a slightly different polish. Fantastic!!! I love the original and this version as well.
I love their recordings, but it is so true that a live performance by The Milk Carton Kids is the best you'll ever experience in live heavenly Harmonies and superb guitar work @MilkCartonKids
saw them live, best live band i have ever seen.
I brought a friend of mine to their show; which included Sarah Jarosz.
She is not a fan of "folk" so I told her nothing about them, just that they were fabulous.
She was speechless-a magical night!!
+Joanne Stazio iecjsiakmqhhhklhkb
+Charles Porter I totally agree!
Agree, my favorite show ever.
This is absolutely beautiful 😊❤️🌈🎶
They used to come to the 1000 Islands before they went big time. They have a stage presence you just have to see. They had the audience in the palm of their hand the entire evening. Makes me wish there was still an "Ed Sullivan Show" so he could be presenting them to the world!
Rock for the River?
Great version of a classic.
milk carton kids is life
The encore song at the Boulder Theater a couple of weeks ago. Simply mind blowing! So great.......
Beautiful.
Saw TMCK at Birmingham Symphony Hall in February 2016 - simply stunning rendition of Wish You Were Here. Also loving Cara Dillon, Karen Matheson and Rhiannon Gidden on the same evening. Music for my soul :-)
This is one of my favorite Pink Floyd tunes because it reminds me of my best friend who died quite young and quite suddenly. This is the version she would have liked even though she was a Barry Manilow fan.
Had a friend who lived down our street. I was 7 when his family moved in. We grew up together. In a way he was like an acquired older brother. He died at age 28 [I was 26] and I realised that his half of our shared memories was gone forever and that I could never ask him to recollect them with me. In a way that was as devastating as the physical loss of his presence. It was a huge black hole to infinity it seemed. Perhaps, in another realm that does not operate in time & space as we know it, I'll find him and put back together the pieces of my life.
@@cpcnwI am so sorry for your loss. Yes, I do believe that we can make amends in the next life and am counting on it myself. Right now, I tend to heal from pain by writing and recording music. It seems to be a panacea for a lot of people. This is my latest, a positive tune with some bounce in it: ruclips.net/video/59FrTlhBH9g/видео.html. Let me know what you think of it if you feel like listening to it. Thanks, CPCNW.
Wow, never heard of them until today. Beautiful.
Loved this at Transatlantic Sessions on Sunday night. Would love to watch it all over again.
I was there also, what a show. Rihannon Giddens, the MCKs, Karen and Cara and the other guys weren't too bad. 😂
Special night.
Beautiful, and yes, definitely echoes of Simon and Garfunkle.
What a delightful surprise. I didn't think I could be any more excited to see them live in St. Louis next month and then this dropped out of the sky.
Thanks, gents!
+Jeff Hirsch Clap hard :) They did it as their encore at a show in Calgary last week.
OMG this is beyond awesome!
Great song, I heard it on spotify by coincidence, it made me cry al little, very touched bij you`re two voices en guitar play together. Hope to see you play in Holland once ;-)
wow :) so beautiful !
2 of the most talented musicians out there. You should check out a live video. Amazing.
They played this last night with John Paul White singing. It was so beautiful.
great rendition
Really nice cover! Thanks for posting, antirecords.
You guys are magnificent!
saw this live at the keswick in philly...awesome!
So glad you made it your own! Great job guys! come back to pittsburgh or WV sometime soon please!!
Incredible.
Beautiful
Love that wonky guitar.. Superb cover .
Quarantine blues
beautiful- Brilliant - i think I even like this more then the Original! I actually liked this probbly least of all of the P.F songs.. now I can enjoy this song!
fantastic, please tour the UK again. I miised the concert last time around!!!!
They are playing 2016s Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow. Two nights guesting with Transatlantic Sessions in The Concert Hall Main Auditorium on 29 and 31 Jan and a night of their own in between at the Mitchell Theatre 30 Jan.
Transatlantic sells out very quickly every year and no doubt their own show will too so buy tickets asap if you're planning on going.
tellement beau... wow...wowww
I'm seeing them live in about a month. I hope they play this song
They played it when I saw them live last October! But that was right after they released it. Not sure if they're still doing it...
Nice! All of their songs from Monterey are great too
They played it last night!
YA! :D
And again in Woodstock tonight! Best closer I've heard in a while.
Sounds like Simon and Garfunkel covered Pink Floyd, it is a cool sounding cover though
I appreciate their style, .. now, who really wants to compete with other originals singers of songs? Not I .. Uniqueness can be magical, 😉💖💞
I agree with Todd B.; the guitar sounds a lot like David Rawlings. Harmonies too. A great dou!
I saw them do this at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco and it pretty much blew the minds of every boomer there. Amazing cover. (I'm not a boomer)
Thank you mansur yavaş
The new Simon & Garfunkel 👌
Thankfully, Not as much a secret in 2019 as they were!!
great job ..love it to death.....
duo
3 Years later: Not a secret anymore!!
Tolle Interpretation
This is the stuff.
2:49 👌👌👌
3:53 is a quote (perhaps unintentional) from Josh Turner's Would You Go With Me. It's even in the same key.
Dare I say this is better than the original?
+Evan Beckstedt Never be better than the original. Its good but no one can duplicate the Pink Floyd sound and feel
+Brian Lee not duplicate, re make. It's just a classic case of old school bias. You have to like the original better just because it's Floyd. But IMO it's way better
+Evan Beckstedt what if you hate Floyd?
+Brian Lee I think that is a matter of opinion on this one. To say "Never be better than the original" is incredibly bias. I've always talked to Pink Floydd fans and they say, to "feel" their music you had to smoke a large joint, or drop a bunch of shrooms..The latter is not needed in this beautiful rendition.
+Ryan Burns I hope no one hates Pink Floyd

The wish milk you carton were kids here
the wish milk you carton where kids here
Simon & Garfunkel harmonies?
could anyone make a tab for this??
Pink Floyd the wall
FR AsoMNiaK It's actually from the album of the same name--"Wish you were here," which, for my money, is far superior to The Wall.
the wish milk you carton were kids here 😜
Darren Korb sent me here.
This sounds like Simon & Garfunkel
+Isay Hi It does have that vibe to it.
+Isay Hi - I think they sound like Gillian Welch and David Rawlings
I know right! When I heard them for the first time, years ago, it already gave me that warm S&G vibe
IKR?
They have unofficially been called the "contemporary Simon & Garfunkel"
quizás suene un poco a Simond y Garfunkel
They should cover Halo of Flies
this is definitely better than the pink floid version
They are so amazing. When I'm listening in the car there are 3 members and one is pretty out of tune(me.) Love their music. A little too much stage banter at times though hate to say it, would rather have another song than mediocre jokes. What's the deal with that? Does Joe talk so much to give Ken's hand a break? Anyway, I look forward to much more from these guys in the future. Very unique and loved how they blew T bone and crew away in Another Time Another Place.
Jason Leeds their banter is reminiscent of the Smother Brothers! I think that's what they are aiming for....
Mansur Yavaştan gelenler ..
They are great but this one did not work. Some songs are best left uncovered
It may not have worked for you, but it worked absolutely beautifully for me.
You are just jealous of their godliness. The original version sucked of this song, Pink Floyd sucked.
Trust me when I say that this very much did work, just not for you.
In my opinion, they did better than pink floid
The original is far superior...good effort though. Still liking everything I've heard from this diamond in the rough group.

David Gilmore and Roger Waters are better
+Scott Hanks ...in their own way. Part of what makes music great is the subjectivity of it; its ability to meet people where they are. I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan but it's raining out today and some chill and beautifully executed folk music is just what I needed in THIS moment. Later I'll go back to the Floyd version and that will speak to me.
Glad to hear it, I didn't even know they were ill.
The MLK weren't saying that they were better, they were honoring PF. Understand the difference please
If you like David Gilmore, you should hear David Gilmour!
Sadly misses the meaning and passion of the original. If the lyrics don't mean something to you, you shouldn't cover them. Being a fan of the original isn't enough.
You gotta be kidding me lol
Messing with perfection never works out. Sorry but not digging this at all.
Hearing test? 🤔😂
Beautiful
