    Just got this, the Oxblood version. Here’s the deal with the sizing.
    I’m 6’3 and 195 lbs, athletic build (narrow waist/wide shoulders). I typically wear a size 42-44 in motorcycle jackets, I ordered the 42 in this one.
    My preference in fit is snug, form fitting, so the 42 is perfect for me. That being said, I think most people my size should get a 44. I only wear a t-shirt under the jacket, there is no way I could get a hoodie on and wear this, but that’s not my style.
    As far as sizing down, I would definitely NOT recommend that with this jacket. If you like room to add a hoodie or prefer a more loser fit, size UP.
    It’s definitely on the stiff side out of the box, but the leather quality is top notch and beautiful. I’m sure it will loosen up with extended wear.
    Finally, without the liner, you can definitely wear this in the Summer. Although the leather is “thick” in regards to protection (AAA), it feels light weight when you wear it. I just undue the collar and get some nice airflow that way.
    Fantastic jacket.

    Absolutely awesome jacket. One critique, the black is fine, but WHY wouldn't you show off that absolutely BEAUTIFUL Ox blood option!?!

    On terms of Waterproof measurements
    Is it 20k L? Or more like 10k L

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  2 месяца назад

      Merlin's claims have this just under 10k waterproofing which isn't the best we've seen. However, the fact that it is built into the leather of the jacket (and just being paired w/ a full leather jacket at that), is one of the bigger features that has made this one so popular.

    What's crazy is he is 1 inch taller than me but I fit perfectly in a size 46. A size 40 would be waaaaaay too tight on me...

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  Месяц назад +1

      That's why we don't size jackets on height or weight, same with dress suits. It's all about that chest measurement for the most part.

    Nice Jacket. Can you replace the L1 armour with L2? Is the Armour removable?

    • @cloud9847
      @cloud9847 8 месяцев назад +1

      it's been a year, but yes, you can remove the armor. I personally own the ox blood version and replaced the armor with lvl 2 sas-tec stuff. It's a great jacket, buy with confidence if you still don't own one. Revzilla customer service is second to none as well.

      @@cloud9847what size is your chest and what size did you go with, how does it fit?

    • @cloud9847
      @cloud9847 7 месяцев назад +1

      I'm about 39" chest. I went with a 40 size and it fits perfectly. I'm 5'7" tall and weigh about 155-160lbs. I'm somewhat athletic build (I do pushups and stuff) with a 33" waist. If it fits, it's an exceptional jacket and for the price point I think you'll struggle to find better around the $600 range. Without the thermal liner in I can easily fit a sweatshirt under the jacket for anything in the 50's. For colder temps I have other layers but with just the jacket/thermal liner you're good down into the 60's easily and then with a sweatshirt on you're good down into the 50's. I've worn it in temps as high as 75 and it will start to get warm then while sitting at lights and stuff. I wouldn't want to wear this jacket in anything above 80. With the right layering you can get down into the 20's and be comfortable in this jacket. Hope this helped bud!

      @@cloud9847 Yup that’s why I’m researching it at the moment. I have a Merlin Perton in medium that fits roomy and a Merlin Hixon in 40 that fits snug. I also have a size 39 inch chest, 6’1 185 lbs but I do like a roomier fit so I can wear a sweater or hoodie underneath. There is a cycle gear near me with this jacket in stock so I will be going to try it out. Thanks for the help! I’m going for the oxblood version as well, how is yours holding up?

    Some say go one size up, some say go one down, some say it fits as described in the chart. Go figure that out.

      We'd recommend trusting our recommendation in the video since we are professionals and try / review gear for a living. Some reviewers don't know how a jacket *should* fit for riding and more importantly, safety. But, you can always reach out to our team of riders in Customer Service and ask them for further tips as well. Whichever is easier for you - Pat

      @@RevZilla I saw two reviews at Urban Riding, one said just trust the chart, the other said size up. Don’t get me wrong, it’s just that it’s difficult to trust any kind of review online.

    Warning : after placing an order of over $700.00 10 days ago I got notification after the order they are overwhelmed and behind. My order hasn’t shipped as of yet and I don’t believe they are warning customers on the site about this prior to ordering and/or checkout. That would have been nice. Buyer beware
