Anaesthesia is extremely dangerous the longer you’re under, it has many side effects physically and especially on your mental health. The longer you’re under the more dangerous it gets.
@@LiveBetterTryHarder Complications during surgery and overuse of anesthesia can cause you to not wake up edit: I know these cases are very rare, I'm just giving insight into why some people have these sometimes irrational fears. Anesthesia is generally safe when handled correctly by professionals. I'm not trying to create fear around it.
Its extremely rare but there are people like myself who will go into anyphlactic shock if given inhaled aesthesia. I found out I was allergic because my uncle had a tumor that required surgery but when they gave him the aesthesia he went into shock, had a stroke, and died on the table. It took the doctors several minutes to revive him and he was left paralyzed for several weeks. Even 10 years later, half his face remains paralyzed and he suffers from severe migranes although he is able to walk and function mostly normally now.
I had surgery three days ago..... They told me I was gonna count down from 10...., I don't remember starting any count down, they wheeled me in and I blinked and they were done with the whole surgery It's like a damn time machine
Anesthesia is indeed a mental time machine, the drugs they give you disrupt the ability of your brain to form new memories and a lot of other functions like your "biological clock" so you wake up thinking that only a split second passed but it was actually hours. It's fascinating stuff that we still don't really understand.
That's exactly how it felt. Counted up to 12, the next thing I know I'm slowly opening my eyes in the recovery room, the people and noise of the OR are instantly gone. Not like sleeping; there was no sensation that any time passed. Later, the nurse rips off the wide tape that holds the IV needle in the wrist. For a guy with hairy arms, that hurt!
Crazy that the father sounds more concerned/excited with the kid breaking a record than the fact he's going to have a potentially very scary surgery. But all that being said, I hope whatever this young man is going through, he recovers from and is stronger and healthier than ever!!! Godspeed little man!❤
i remember the last time I got one I said to the doctor "i don't like that feeling because...(at that point the anesthetic kicked in) ... BILL COSBY!" and then i passed out
I had just rewatched Vanilla sky not long before I was paralyzed in 2005, I was getting emergency surgery and when they asked me to count back I sang "what if God was one of is, just a slob like one of us" smiled at my mother and passed out.
Do you dream under the anaesthesia or do you just wake up instantly like one minute your in the theatre and the next your in a different room after surgery
He's just trying to break the record.. he got nothing wrong with him.. his dad has treatments twice a week and they play with the nurses.. u see they was waking him up right after..
I don’t think I ever got past eight and I was out like a light. This little boy is so cute. I hope what he had to be put under. For was not anything major and I hope he said healthy. Happy boy now God bless him.
@KevinDaLizrd like a fucking freight train hit you. But no pain 😂😂😂 all I remember is them rolling me in the room putting ankle cuffs on me then me waking up 2-3 hours after surgery. You don’t really remember falling asleep
@KevinDaLizrd as you’re losing consciousness you don’t realize it and then you fall asleep you then wake up like nothing happened but your body feels really weird your balance is off hearing is off it’s almost like being in. Deep sleep and abruptly waking up and trying to move around all your senses are off
@KevinDaLizrd for me, it just feels really wonky but doesn’t hurt (sometimes it burns in the arm where they inject it) and then eventually you just start to sleep, and next thing you know you’re awake
He is such a little brave man am actually so surprised honestly I would be nervous but the smile on his face is probably everything to his parents may god bless him❤
When I was put under for a surgery I started giggling, the anesthesiologist said "are you starting to feel it?" I said "yeah" and then I was gone. My brother they asked to count down from 100 he said "100 99 98" then after the surgery he woke up and said "97" and the nurse just lost it
That’s what happened to me, I finished counting to 10 then asked when it was supposed to kick in but apparently it already had and when I woke up I finished counting
Well mine was a bit more weird cause I was 9 having a surgery and the person who is giving me anesthesia is my fathers friend that we meet often so it didn’t really matter to say anything (as my father is also an anesthesiologist/doctor).
actually when i broke mg wrist the first time it was like that but they put me under a second time felt like i was high or something i could see the room and my dream it was like a hallucination
Anesthesia actually just knocks you out and stops you from being able to make memories. We actually dont know if it actually stops us from being in pain, but doesnt really matter because we dont remember it lol.
I went in to have sinus surgery once, and the anesthesiologist asked me if I was there for a leg amputation. I never got to answer cause I got knocked out. Remember waking up feeling both my legs to make sure they were still there!
I passed out at about 2 seconds because I had rushed in for a lung problems when I was 3 years old and was hyperventilating so I inhaled a lot of it in really fast and and passed out immediately
That's a great idea to help children with their anxiety before a surgery. Giving them something else to think about instead of just the procedure is genius.
I felt bad just watching it I started thinking what if one day doctors tell me you're gonna go to sleep and when you wake up some sort of surgery will be done, and It was a terrifying feeling just to think about it, can't imagine what a children in a situation like that would feel!
Once during anesthesia doctor asked me do you have girlfriend and i was about to answer but i got knocked out then under the whole operation i was thinking do i have a girlfriend
I actually did wake up at the end of my simple surgery, before they could finish up. At first I could see, but not feel anything. Then I could feel, but not move. Then I could feel a bar in my mouth and it was very irritating. I was too young and had no idea what it was. I wanted to get up and began fighting them. Took 4 guys to hold me down and try to put me back under.
@@abducron na I was joking but the challenge is that if you go under anesthetiser just see how high you can count before you go under & most go under before reaching ten but this little legend got to 15

I loved how he started counting faster when he really started feeling it kick in. Bless his precious heart. I wonder what number he remembers counting to. Lol😂😂😂😂
Anaesthetics are like dying but without the pain. You unwillingly lose conciousness and anyone who's had it knows that you don't even feel it happening.

When I went under I was told to count to 10, I got to 5 then blinked and counted the rest of the way, then asked when it was supposed to kick in; apparently it already had and I just woke up and kept counting lmao
I had my first ever anesthesia two days ago at 33 year old male. Lemme tell you i had not had this mich anxiety prior ever before. I was close to running out of the hospital. My anesthesologist was an absolute unit of a guy, funny awesome personality. I went out cold im a second. Turns out the anxiety only existed in my mind. Anesthesia = 10/10 experience lmao
It really is nothing special. You just get knocked out and the next thing you remember is waking up. It feels like seconds go by, while in actuality hours passed
Waking up is the terrible part. Apart I get agitated when I wake up and I woke up with my whole chest, arms and legs bruised from me flailing about and the doctors and nurses trying to sedate me.
When my big, huge, burly husband had surgery, the anesthesiologist said it would take a little longer to kick in so they'd make small talk until 'countdown'. He asked my husband if he'd watched the race that weekend and who his favorite driver was. My husband said, "yeah, Da....." and he was out. Anesthesiologist laughed and said he'd had 40 pound kids last longer than that and he was the first to not make it until countdown.
Loool I woke up in the middle of the surgery and asked the doctor to make haste because I'm hungry. Then we proceed to talk on how to cook a proper instant noodles before I went back to sleep (i think they gave me another drug)
Broooo that shit knocked me the HELL out faster than I could count. I was trying so hard to fight it but it’s like everything is fading in and out, voices and faces. Voices sound distant and then darkness. That’s how it was for me.
I had to stop watching it because my heart was beating too fast and I felt sick. I hate when kids are put through things, even if it’s just getting anesthesia 😭

It's like a damn time machine
Hmmmm fun
Anesthesia is indeed a mental time machine, the drugs they give you disrupt the ability of your brain to form new memories and a lot of other functions like your "biological clock" so you wake up thinking that only a split second passed but it was actually hours. It's fascinating stuff that we still don't really understand.
Lol, in reality you just used “fast travel” to skip the surgery 😂
@@Bezimienny1598 ikr it’s crazy I’ve had surgery before and it seems so fast
That's exactly how it felt. Counted up to 12, the next thing I know I'm slowly opening my eyes in the recovery room, the people and noise of the OR are instantly gone. Not like sleeping; there was no sensation that any time passed.
Later, the nurse rips off the wide tape that holds the IV needle in the wrist. For a guy with hairy arms, that hurt!

Honestly to me where he loses consciousness is soooo terrifying
@KevinDaLizrd it doesn’t really hurt or feel uncomfortable, you just count down and fall asleep
Deep sleep and abruptly waking up and trying to move around all your senses are off
@KevinDaLizrd it doesn’t feel like anything. I went In there, then opened my eyes and was in recover, don’t even remember closing them
@KevinDaLizrd for me, it just feels really wonky but doesn’t hurt (sometimes it burns in the arm where they inject it) and then eventually you just start to sleep, and next thing you know you’re awake

When I was put under for a surgery I started giggling, the anesthesiologist said "are you starting to feel it?" I said "yeah" and then I was gone.
My brother they asked to count down from 100 he said "100 99 98" then after the surgery he woke up and said "97" and the nurse just lost it
