Absolutely hero. When I was 15 I emailed Michael to tell him how big a fan I was of his art and he changed my life by sending me some signed art books and Roger stickers - this was my first time connecting with someone I looked up to and it really motivated me to pursue my passions.
Wow man, that's so fkn cool. I absolutely love hearing stories like that. A lot of these people don't realize how much people truly look up to them, and to see someone not only acknowledge it, but to go out of their way to do something nice for someone.. is pretty damn cool.
Hi all! Jason Georgiades here, the editor for this episode. The name of the song at the end is from Mike Aho's band Sounder and the track is "This Nothing." It appears during Michael's video part for Roger Skate Co's "Water Spirit" video on Thrasher's site: ruclips.net/video/61vXtS7cc84/видео.htmlsi=HztBEvUQdwB2wPqx&t=385. Thanks for watching!
came across Sieben as a little bmx kid through his work for T1. I am so grateful this doc exists on this legend. continuously inspiring and fun and funny and talented. god bless you michael
This dude made some of my favorite art! Loved seeing it in Thrasher each month. Thanks for posting this, I was thinking about his work recently but for the life of me couldn’t remember his name.
If anyone is wondering why the guy at 18:48 looks SOOOO familiar, that is because he is Negan’s main Hinchman in TV show - The Walking Dead on AMC before.
I grew up on Thrasher in the early 2000's. Sieben's articles and artwork were always highlights. I'll always remember his article about him skating around Austin with Ben Gilley getting drunk on SPARKS and the banana Farm Freakout article. Also his article on his shoe collection and tee shirt rotation🤣 Love Sieben, man
Came to RUclips to finish watching this so I could give it a thumbs up. I used to really look forward toInternet Shack, can't believe I missed Camp Ramp dropping. Anyway, Sieben is great and this is a great series! Keep it up!
Thrasher is definitely an all time favorite of mine 🖤 already educating my 7 year old bout the different teams and the meaning behind the brands we wear
Loved his work in thrasher just renewed a subscription like last year really enjoyed reading now and getting a long look into the life of Sieben. Thanks a lot this was very informative. Lol reminds me of the Mail Drop in thrasher those are always funny the editor in chiefs response
I have a tattoo of a bird I saw in Thrasher almost 20 years ago. It has a little scarf on it. Still stoked on it. It was of course from a Sieben article.
i only knew his art thru his Volcom (featured artist) tshirts. i had like 3 of them cause i loved his aesthetic.... what's crazy, is i just happen to be wearing one TODAY (like, right now) which is paper thin and full of little holes cause i got it in the mid-2000s...... i love how he draws birds....
I appreciate their efforts to keep this hobby alive in this age. This sport/entertainment is fun and similar to cycling as its environmental friendly and suitable for children as a outlet. I would have definitely used a skateboard if my public roads in my region were that flat and well paved. The only aspect that scares me is the stunts performed.
I recently got my hands on a NOW SKATEBOARDS Shaped Skateboard Deck. The Texas Deck?? It's really fun to ride and can do basically every trick I can on my popsicle
2:34 Funny, his last name means seven in German. Here, he's indirectly wearing a German flag and by the 1880s, over 40 percent of Seguin's population was of German descent. He's clearly a Kraut!! As a German-American we tend to spot these things XD Cool that he played off of his name and made the artshow on the 7th of Sept. at 7pm. Classic Sieben!
Ryan Thompson and David Langston are two of the best dudes on wheels right now, and not enough people know that. And I gave myself a Sieben tattoo, so that should sum up how I feel about him.
I love good art. Art today is so disneyfied and corporate. I dont find joy in accuracy or drawing every bone and muscle in the body. Skate and surf artists always have the best art imo. Nothing else compares.
DBC..Daily. BLESSINGs. Coming! .. Thank You ALL for Skateboarding and Everything, EVERYDAY!! I’ve ALWAYs Loved Skateboarding and Art, but Never liked big crowds or understood how it worked! Great transmission, as always. I appreciate the no-nonsense approach you take to the news and the markets. A lot has changed and that's about it ,but the truth is that I don't even care much about the bull or bear market anymore because Jones Chloe covered me while I'm doing comfortable.20k 30k every week and I'm still counting thanks to her ❤
her transformative power of trading is remarkable. Despite being a medical doctor by profession, I've found that copy trading generates higher income for me without the need for direct involvement in trading activities
I remain eternally grateful to Jones Chloe for her efforts that got me to this point , finally paid off my mortgage and all my debts, what more could I've asked for. She changed my life for good

That's so sick.
I have a similar story. He really is a special human. So happy I could look up to him when I was younger.
I’ve known this dude since we were in grade school. He’s the same guy he was in 6th grade. Solid as a rock.

how did you get it tho!?!?! I can't find it anywhere not even sounder bandcamp.
Sieben rules! When I was a kid in school, that was one of my favorite parts of Thrasher
I remember laughing out loud in social studies inappropriately several times because I was reading the Sieben section in Thrasher inside my textbook

Nobody skates anymore, and if you did skate you are a poser

Sieben and his family are the best people. One of my favorite artists and people in skateboarding.
Been a fan of sieben since internet shack. Still a huge fan of his art and what he does for skateboarding.

I loved Bueno and carried it at my skateshop; the brand just never sold. It was heartbreaking, i never understood it.
Freaking Loved Bueno Skateboards because of Shiloh Greathouse’s Part in Transworlds First Love Video
Really enjoyed this, thank you
Inspiration of mine growing up! Loved all the thrasher/bueno stuff when I was a kid.
I've seen so many of these murals around Austin and didn't know that they were connected to skaters. Great artist and skater!

Thought his tattoo flash in Thrasher was so funny that I permanently got the crying flashlight on me. 😎
Also, always loved the 20% skateboarding 80% weed and cobras Roger ad. And the "why is that hat so far up on your head?". A genius among men.
