I'm rather envious of your wonderful Agatha Christie Folio Society editions collection. Very impressive indeed
This channel is a precious treasure
Thanks so much 💕
As it turns out, I have one of the Miss Marple books, bought ages ago from a second hand bookshop. Now, I am really curious about the other binding, and of course, the set of three Hercule Poirot ones. Thank you for such an informative video!
Murasaki & Co Thanks for watching 💕
Thanks for making this very helpful video. I am also reading the written articles on your website. I appreciate all that you do.
Glad it was helpful, and thanks so much for taking the time to comment! 💕
Wonderful collection. Congratulations!
Like Thunder Thanks! I love both Agatha Christie and Folio Society, so it’s a great match 😀
What a wonderful collection and insightful video. Thank you BB. I absolutely adore the Andrew Davidson illustrations. The design of those volumes is wonderful with the Art Deco spines. Despite having requested that Folio release And Then There Were None, I cannot bring myself to purchase their edition, due to the illustrations. I too would love to see The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and Peril At End House released as single volumes in series with the Andrew Davidson illustrated releases. Five Little Pigs, Curtain, A Murder is Announced, Crooked House, and Endless Night would also be on my wishlist.
SirMinty Thanks for the kind comments. I do agree with you on the fabulous Andrew Davidson illustrations, and I confess it took me a year to buy the And Then There Were None volume for the same reason. But once I held it and read it in person, it was much clearer what the artist was trying to do - the illustrations are actually far more haunting and evocative of the story’s mood on paper than they appear on the website. I very sincerely hope FS are listening to your wishlist, as your suggestions would be fabulous additions 😀
Hi SirMinty and Beautiful Books! I'm happy to report that Folio Society has released THE MURDER OF ROGER ACKROYD with Andrew Davidson illustrations! It looks great! I too couldn't bring myself to purchase And Then There Were None even though it is one of my favorites!
I love agatha christie! Love the vids!
Thanks! I love her too 😍
Love this collection! Are you planning on doing an updated video with the new books put out by folio? Glad to see you got your wish for the murder if Roger Akroyd. I'd love an updated 4:50 from paddington with pictures and appointment with death
Hi Sarah - sure I can do an updated video with the new titles, I'll add it to the list (and yes, I was indeed very happy to get Roger Ackroyd!!) 💕
Thanks! 😃
And thanks for watching :)
@@BeautifulBooks You're so welcome! It's good to know what's out there.
I think my favourite Poirot is Peril at End House and my favourite Marple is 4:50 from Paddington. I've never read And Then There Were None, but I don't really like the illustrations of the Folio version. I prefer the Andrew Davidson illustrations.
Leanne Burnham I really like Andrew Davidson’s illustrations as well. They seem to capture the faintly menacing but entirely cozy nature of her mysteries. If you have a chance, I think And Then There Were None is very cleverly plotted and well worth reading (in any edition 😉)!
Muito bom.
💕
Apart from the Miss Marple complete short stories...why are these editions so rare and expensive...? The 2003 poirot set go for hundreds. They're more like a limited edition.
Around this time, some FS print runs were only 2000-3000 copies - so, you’re right this means they are essentially a limited edition. Also, there are a lot of Christie collectors, who hold onto the books… The Marple short stories were released in two different editions, so there are both more books and less competition )unless people want both copies).
@@BeautifulBooks right....if there are less than 3000 copies i guess that makes sense.Interesting.Great channel btw 😊
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is certainly one that is missing! Wonder why haven't they published it before.
EstoNoEsUnSpoiler I really don’t know! Can always hope though...
EstoNoEsUnSpoiler The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is available now! Folio Society released it with Andrew Davidson illustrations. :)
