  • If you just got a new Mac computer, or never installed REAPER before this guide is for you!
MacOS has security features to get through for installing apps and extensions that haven't come from the App Store. Don't worry I'll show you how.
MacOS 13 Ventura was released back in October but every company warned not to update yet. And we're still waiting for the go ahead.
I updated my Mac Studio to Ventura and surprisingly, nothing broke. If your reaper was already installed and you did all the security steps it should be business as usual for you.
    00:00 - Intro
    00:52 - getting the downloads
    02:28 - Installing Reaper
    03:50 - REAPER resources folder
    04:12 - Install SWS
    04:35 - Resolving security warnings
06:08 - ReaPack install, same thing
07:12 - More Mac permissions are required
    Thanks for watching!

What does the shift + right click mean on the website when you open Reaper after the install?

Too many devs from Redmond went to work at Apple: “PROMPT THE USER FOR EVERYTHING”. Decades long macOS user, hate how it’s going.

Realizing I'm on the "old" version of SWS Jon recommended not using. Would it make sense to install the "Bleeding Edge build" even if I'm still on Monterey?
Is this as easy as replacing the previosu dylib file? Thanks!!

yes the bug fixes in SWS beta are not related to OS changes. check my video for the details.

Thanks a lot. I have just insalled reaper in a macbook pro m1 pro but I get this error: reaper_host_x86_64 quit unexpectedly. What could be going on. By the way there's one plugin that was on the proyect I'm trying to open that is not loading. Thanks for you help !!!

that's the 64-bit bridge for plugins crashing. is there an apple silicon update for that plugin?

@@TheREAPERBlog Thank you Jon. I have already written to the developers to see if they have an updated version for M1 pro. The curious think is that the stand alone version of the plugin opens ok, but the AU version does not. So, thanks a lot for your help my friend !!!!

      Try this custom action
Custom: JT: -2dB selected envelope section
SWS/BR: Select envelope at mouse cursor
Envelope: Insert 4 envelope points at time selection
Envelopes: Move selected points down a little bit
Envelopes: Move selected points down a little bit

I just returned a new M2 because it only had 8 gigs of Ram I think 16 is the minimum do you agree?

    • @TheREAPERBlog
      @TheREAPERBlog  Год назад +2

I occasionally hit that limit with my m1 mini. Firefox and Discord would use it all and more
