- Cringe has peaked with Cid Kagenou. And it is probably the best peak of cringe I've ever witnessed.
Hope people won't rage at the beginning segment of this video...

The algorythmic gods have guided me to a mildly amusing video with criminally low views once more ,and i am damm thankfull
The one who should be thankful is me to have come upon an individual who found one of my videos to be the slightest bit amusing.
Grateful to you, sire 🙏
Isekai needs a good twist in order to make the story interesting. The OP main character also being completely, totally, absolutely batshit insane before he even meets truck-kun is certainly one way to do it. Might check it out.
I actually love the fact he wish to be a mob so fucking badly...that he ends up sucking at it! It is so hillariously ironic.
If he just stayed quite or tried a little less he would genuinly do the role perfectly but he wants to show off how much of a mob he is and that is exactly why he ends up not even being a mob.
He gets "beat" but wanting to show off several more of his "getting his ass handed to him" techniques he end up being seen as a respectful fighter.
He wants to protect what he sees as the perfect heroin character. Not because he cares about her ofcourse but because her dying too early doesn't fit her character...so he ends up "sacrificing" himself for her.
He completly forgets the whole mob role at one point when he protects the girl that is trying to save the school because he needs to tell her how terrible she is at sneaking around...
It is seriously hillarious!
Seriously, every single time he whips out those Mob Techniques, I question whether or not he's aware that he's doing the exact opposite of what he constantly sets out to do.
How saving a person who might as well be an idol at their school constitutes to fulfilling his mob goals is beyond me, but damn I would be a liar if I said it didn't bring me the slightest bit of amusement while watching it.
@@cydthemanic Lets be fr, if he isnt aware of the cult being real, he obv isnt aware that he is complete trash at being a mob cuz like there is no way
@@cydthemanic Look at it like this, he doesn't understand the power scaling of the world and ends up overestimating the strength of the average mob. This actually makes sense, because how could the strongest person in the world accurately grasp how weak the average person is? Pair that with the fact that he doesn't consider the people around him to be 'people' but NPCs, it's not surprising how he thinks he doesn't stand out.
Well, he doesn't consider ðem NPCs. Ðat's a mistranslation.@@shred1894
"Powerup with little to no explanation". Oof, the manga and LN really explains his grind way better. He actually had an average amount of magic at the beginning and just got autistically good at controlling it.
It also has a lot to do with his overwhelming determination to become "better." While others are steeped in tradition, or assume that just getting 'bigger number' will make them the best, he is experimenting with things (like the slime) to further refine himself. He also has a clear(er) understanding of fighting that he learned from Earth where people have to grasp every advantage they can as opposed to just relying on their raw stats to over power someone effortlessly (which he then proceeds to do anyway).
Like in the book, he explains concepts like reach, and spacing in respects to a fight, when most people of the world rely so much on their raw power that they just kind of default to "rush in as fast as possible and land a killing blow, or probably just die I guess."
Does he at some point understands that at least that cult of diabolos is real or is it just made a fact that he won't ever understand it?
@@Valysion Up to this point? No, he still oblivious that all his BS are real. I don't know when or if he will ever know that the cult is real, but maybe at the final arc he might realize that he did already become the eminence in shadow he always want to be.
@@voratittchunharuckchot9711 this fucking show. It has everything i love and everything i hate. I love cool overpowered characters. I love how it all looks and sounds. But i fucking hate the misunderstandings which are everywhere in this show. Just tell the fucking truth it's not that hard. So i'm really torn about it.
Autisticslly good 😭😭😭
The thing about mob characters is that they appear once do their little one thing and then disappear.
Cid though, wants to play the role of every possible mob character in every scene. Even just a background character is bound to have major impact if he is drawn in the background of every single scene.
The 'not giving up in the fight' part is actually one of my favorite parts of the show. The dude literally came up with tons of different ways to lose and only got up just so he could use them all. I love that for some reason
The algorithm gods have blessed me this day. I love how you mentioned the “I, am, *atomic*” it sent chills down my spine hearing it the first time and no other recaps mention it, which is a shame.
I think it's because it's obvious that that scene was just friggin' fantastic that they don't feel the need to mention it. People would be lying if they said it wasn't awesome, heck quite a few people started The Eminence in Shadow because of that scene (among others)
@Kuurokuro If you're up to date on the manga you don't need to worry, so far the anime is by far behind, I've read the manga and an watching the anime currently and have to say I love both!
I love how he is just having the time of his life while everyone else is fighting for theirs.
“I knew this kid was going to be something special in my eyes”
"And I was not wrong with that assumption"
I really wanna read the light novel...
Yen Press adapted it poorly like there's no distinction between between noble speaking and a commoner, which is important in some characters like Rose and Epsilon. Their personality is based on their pedigree so now everyone pretty much speaks the same.
@@kennichigatchalian6710 Oh, well that's a shame. Typically prefer it when the manner of speaking for certain characters is kept in line with how they are written in the original language, but I guess some just get lost in translation.
Although I still do want to give it a shot eventually to gauge whether I'll actually enjoy it or not. If not, then I'll try my luck with the Japanese version lol.
it really is just the way he says ᵃᵗᵒᵐᶦᶜ that really gets me you know?
he does it again in later episodes, but it doesnt hit as hard as the first one ngl.
Yeah, it was good in the 14th episode though, but that 1st atomic is just undefeated
You just can´t expect the atomic..... I knew the manga and I was still bawling my eyes out xDDD
Who thought of this shhhh is genious.
I'm watching this show with german sub and I actually thought, the book page was just translated into german💀
Lmao 😭😭
if gaslight gatekeep girlboss was an anime
ngl i thought whenever he used that ability "i am atomic" i thought he wouldve said "i am death" cause that was what the first man who created a nuke said when he saw the power of his creation
(edit: i thought it wouldve been cooler)
Well, he IS atomic. Ðat's ðe point. He can control atoms.
This video was awesome 9.9/10 you nailed almost every point.
With but one exception.
This 6:06 "unknown language" Is German...
Because of course the Japanese edgelord chunibyo would have a note written in German talking about ancient magic words XD
I thought it was gibberish trying to imitate the German language lol.
【People can go berserk and call me a toddler, an edgy/emo teen or anything that pertains to someone having an underdeveloped brain, I do not care. This scene was friggin awsome.]
had me dying on the floor
Ayy man, when something is awesome, it's awesome. I don't care what anyone else has to say about it 😂
@@cydthemanic is true tho
I respect that
I kept laughing all the way through even when they show serious scenes😂
This anime is so frustrating i was so angry the kid Sid won’t do anything you expect him to do he’ll do the opposite. And now here i am waiting for a next season 😭😭
Damn, youtube really isekai'd me into some good recommendations today
Grateful to them for bringing you here man
The universe altered itself according to Cid's mind aftere he got hit by truck-kun. As the saying goes: "when Cid drops into a the water, the water gets wet" .
Lmao. So Cid is bascially the second coming of Chuck Norris?
That turbo reference😂😂...glad I found this channel
ur so underratted i love how u interpret jokes in the video, keep it up!
Thanks man, and will do 😤
I mean, lets look at how he truly developed. Cid was born into this world completely conscious of magic and that it would further facilitate is ultimate desire. This man was so dedicated that he brought crowbars, which were actual murder weapons, to school. (They clank together in his bag at 2:03 on episode 1.) If you were born and every day of your life was spent trying to attain the singular goal you had tried to reach in a past life, I guarantee you that you would be very good at it. Take that a step further and be so fanatical in reaching this goal that by age 7 or so you are legit murdering people with no remorse. Our guy is legit a psychopath.
Hmmmm... You know, you make a very valid point. I never even considered to think that his drive and obsession in acquiring magic in his past life might've led to him acquiring it at a faster rate than most people to the point where he'd become OP and now that you've mentioned it, it's fairly obvious that I'm surprised I didn't even think about it at first.
You've enlightened me mate.
@@cydthemanic thanks bud. :) great video btw!
@@bloodelfreku thanks man 👍
I think the animation didn't really showcase what Cid was trying to do when he was being beaten by the princess. The comic version showed different variation forms of the mob-fu he demonstrates from each time he was hit. It was magnificent, even though he overdid it out of excitement
Yeah, I took a peek at the manga version and damn, that part in the manga was actually far more hilarious than how it was portrayed in the anime.
god tier content hopefully this blows up and i am proud to be one of your og fans now when thhe day comes when you hit 1m subs
Thank you man, appreciate the compliment 🙏🔥
@@cydthemanic imma be here too....edits on pointt
Not sure why many people thought this anime is "trash" or "cringe" when it's much more well written, with actual thought to build the world and character than 99% of isekai.
It's the classic case of genre-parody anime being better written than most anime in the same genre.
It's weird people couldn't see this from the first episode's storytelling.
"I am Atomic"
The things I felt hearing that can't be explained
That was a great video, love the edits too. I have nothing more to say except hope that my like, subscribe and comment draw others to this video as well. Good day to you sir
Thanks man. Your contribution is very much appreciated. Good day to you as well 🙏
The ONE THING that got me to watch the anime was the atomic scene…CHILLS. Just HAD to watch it after seeing that.
bruh i just rewatched it and i still get goosebumps
I have no idea how i ended up here but this video is really fucking funny so uve earned urself a sub my man, may ur channel get the exposure it deserves!
Man, that means a lot. Appreciate the sub.
Title is spot on
finally someone that understands that The Eminence in Shadow is an isekai that INTENTIONALLY doesn´t take itself serious. Like... at all. You cannot judge TEiS by normal anime standards, because it literally is a mockery of the whole isekai-genre. The best way to describe it would probably be: "TEiS is the One Punch Man of isekai". And judged by this standard, it is genious.
At all? Highly incorrect.
While I do agree eminence in shadow does mock other isekai, it does take itself seriously to a extent but not by much. If you read the manga, then you get the impression the story isn't taking itself seriously but the LN and anime take themselves a bit more seriously by comparison while simultaneously mocking other isekai. Take sao abridged or dbz abridged, both are hilarious but both still have their emotional and serious moments surprisingly enough
W video and i agree with basically everything u said regarding cid and his edge lord ways it is peak
Thanks man ✊
Look the anime doesn’t do a good job of describing the lengths he takes to being a mob which is quite extensive. Fun fact there’s another video that helped described how the anime the manga and the light novel are all essentially different experiences
This is the prime example of being so bad on purpose and embracing it that it’s good it’s so enjoyable it’s so funny has a unique twist on the genre and on the main character as a whole and just is a good time killer if you want to turn your brain off and have fun One of the best anime this season honestly It’s also fucking hilarious. One of the most funny animes I’ve ever seen.

„reading scriptures in an unknown language“
me: bro its german
I know now dude, I'm sorry 😭😭😭
Nice ending Picture, make a Video about Grand Blue it would be awsome
The thought of doing so has occurred to me several times. It's gonna happen, eventually...
It's ironic cringe therefore not truly cringe.
I love it when someone talks about my favorite things.
why the hell is the views so low bruh.....this is GREAT.. keep doing vids like this..imma be watching
Thanks man and I'll keep doing so 😤😤😤
@@cydthemanic as you should
idk why but Cid even preparing his own "pathetic-dramatic death" when the fake Shadow Garden attacked shows how committed he is to the role lmao
do more cut-angry-shout or cut-screams, subbed
If the need for them arises then I'll do so. Also thanks.
"Reading scriptures in an unkown language" shows a book who wrote in german. Me a German: broooooo
Great video btw. loved the edgelord-series also.
This video has really good editing
Thanks man
This is amazingly entertaining, it does remind me of "Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs", which is also rather good.
This is criminally underrated, gave me a good laugh
Glad I was able to do so mate 🙏
Your opinion is correct, this is peak cringe. And it is a glorious play to behold!
this video is masterpiece
Thanks man. Glad you think so.
this is the one chuuni show that isn't cringe because ALL CHUUNI people and their light novel/fanfic garbage are PURE CRINGE. This isn't cringe, this is for real and done right.
You~
You get it
this channel is about to bloooow 723rd subsicrber
Grateful man ✊
I honestly think I came a little with that first “atomic”. So good.
Man... You and me both.
I only get cringed whenever he says "more power" or "i am atomic"
The God of algorithm has guided to this untainted sacred land. Praise be to god!
6:45 :"Something snapped, something snapped inside of me Kakarot"
4:23 can you spot the difference in this image
"To withstand a blast of an atomic bomb, *you have to become one*"
Cid, probably, while also detonating half the city for the memes
@1:24 bruh moment
where can you watch this?
“I’m Vengeance” -The Batman
No words on this anime wew
Where is that music in 2:17 from? sounds familiar
MHA Heroes Rising. Called Fight Together.
I love mediocre isekai. I’d rather watch this, Assassin Reincarnated as a Aristocrat, Arifureta, or In Another World with my Smartphone than most shonen.
yep Cid is the Master of BS and bless by lady luck herself to amke that BS real lol
The light novel will explain why he has all these powers and how he obtained them
what is the name of the song in this minute 1:34
One Punch Man OST - Sorrow
Man, wished you had a better mic, because your voice and script are FIRE.
Yeah, been meaning to buy a new one 😅
bro were can i watch this?
Ciaphas Cain would have destroyed the cult by accident in a single weekend and avoided exterminatus.
ive never thought that a phrase as cringy as "I am atomic" with the CRINGIEST POSSIBLE WAY OF SAYING IT wouldnt make me pause the episode and scream to 5 pillows over my face until i saw a protagonist like cid
This anime pulled off something i really wanted out of an anime after konosuba and thats *_BADASS CRINGE_*
author: wish I wrote the script appealing
cid: f*** that, I wrote my own script in this anime.
And Cid did one hell of a magnificent job with that script
I'm in love with this anime man
I heard in the novels they explain a lot how he got so strong
Are you talking about skipped content from the novel or just something later in the series?
@@baggelissonic skipped content i think
It’s my fav show rn fr
This guy is like Saitama. He is overpowered and puts an end to cliche troupe
This in my top 5 now no 🧢
It's a pretty fun anime to watch, so wouldn't blame you 🔥🔥
MOARRRRRRRRRRRRRR🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
If you love chuunibyos then you’d love ‘a destructive god sits next to me’ it’s funny but also pretty depressing
I'll check it out 👌
@@cydthemanic Beware, the whole anime is built on cringe. It’s also depressing because the mc never succeeds. I haven’t watched it in a few years but I remember thinking it was pretty good.
@@lumenx7499 funny haha/relatable cringe or goddamn I wanna die cringe?
@@cydthemanic Like watching a person do cringe chuuni stuff. The story is basically 3 chuuni’s, one normal person(the mc), and one diabolical dude taking pleasure in everyone else’s suffering. It’s sad because all of the above people are constantly ruining the mc’s life and he just deals with their shenanigans because they won’t leave him alone. You’ll probably know if you’ll like the series from the first two episodes.😉
I hear the information to his streangh is in the light novel, but who cares anyways xD
The animation is quite good too
i liked this video it was pretty funny.
Telling me that puts a smile on my face. Thank you very much ✊
cringe has lost all meaning
5:35
Cid trolls reality. That sums up this whole series. 7 shades are all on point though. Now I pray that isekai quartet has appearances by this group.
We're rioting if Cid doesn't appear in Isekai Quartet
8:02 basically the manifestation of "Mission failed"
Very anti-mob behavior.... lmao
I agree with the title
he tries WAY to hard on being cool and doesn't really seem to care about other people's feelings, still an upgrade from Issei who I despise in DxD
Sid is psychotic, and I love it.
This is all correct
you are not ready for the 13th ep if you think "atomic" is good...
"ANI MI"
Yes… and yes
nice
I am Atomic 🫣
hahaha that unknown language is german xD
Manga was better......I didn't mean it bro calm down.......Help Help me Help me.......The light novel readers are coming
Light novel readers:*spoilers*
Nah, it's trash taste, but it is refined.
Refined Trash Taste
All Hail CRINGE KING
Long may he reign
"unknown language" = german
Yeah someone informed. My bad for that 🙏
Hey Anos Voldigoad may be overpowered but he isn't from an isekai.
Yeah, but I needed an anime character that exemplified having a lot of power to the point where they are unrivaled for that segment (didn't necessarily have to be from an isekai) and well, he was the first character that popped into my head that fit the bill, so I just went with him.
@@cydthemanic I mean makes alot of sense becuase he can throw a castle with minor effort.
I don't think it's cringe whatsoever, but whatever lol
