What a great demonstration of club awareness and control. The relationship of the palms to the clubface is something that every golfer should be aware of, and I like how you incorporated it into the pre-shot routine. Brilliant.
Excellent video Carolin! You have superb swing control; no walls were damaged during the making of this video. I was holding my breath while you were demonstrating the face awareness drill.
Coach, this is brilliant! I was struggling with slicing and had fixed it ... but slicing returned. then I watched this video and ta-da! much better results !! also, getting greater distance because the downward palm at midpoint leads naturally to better wrist position at the bottom and then into a better wrist snap followthru. Proof: I played really poorly on Friday. watched this video friday night and went to the range on Saturday to try it played on Sunday and did better doing "the palm down" went to range on Monday to work with it some more played today, Tuesday, and played so much better! hit all but two fairways. and irons/hybrids were much better as well. Thank you! now I'm going to your website to see what you charge for whatever you offer!!
Great tip. I'm hopeful those thoughts on the right palm will help me. For other thoughs, I've seen drills where coaches put a tee in the grip or/and in the ground and speak about where the force on the grip should be at the top of the backswing, I've never seen anyone discuss the pointing and motion of the grip at and after impact. Always great to see your videos.
Ive always thought that the right hand should release "down" and you have just described and demonstrated this perfectly (as well as confirming that doing this in a drill is beneficial). Thank you!
Hi ... Props to ur vid, as many who watch & mimic will no doubt benefit. I've been a private swing coach forever & if I may be so bold to 'accommodate' ur 'hack;' ( which is not a hack, as most pros apply what you've discovered as 'standard fare' as per the way they manipulate their hands nano seconds prior to impact ). Along with ur great tip is the essential need to maintain a solid connection to our upper torso ( core ) by pretending each upper, inner arm is glued to the upper sides of the body; all the while maintaining this solid connection through impact. The worst thing in any 'swing,' ( how I loathe that descriptive word ), is the slightest disconnect from the core. Also, if you're viewers will hopefully take note of how ur left shoulder ( at impact ) is slightly left of target & rotating upwards & heading towards the back of you, whilst ur right shoulder rotates downward, then towards the target line. This is how our bodily mass compresses the golf ball; a motion that initiates from the ground up, as far as the downswing is concerned. Lastly, I've always taught the Mike Austin way of his 'Square To Square' method, which has been adopted by a number of pros & aspiring pros on many tours. In this way, the club face is continually square throughout the body rotation & release. I do love surfing to see what innovations are uploaded & I usually will not comment but I felt compelled as I feel you have the know-how to get through to aspiring golfers; keen observance being a key factor of 'student revelation' & success. Lastly, I've always encouraged my students to 'vid' themselves at 2 angles. It is the best teacher. Keep up the good work.
Very well explained. Makes a huge difference. I went back and looked at my swing video... my hand is not flush with target at contact. Thank you for that tip!!
This is so true. I used to have to aim left of target with my irons because I was hitting the ball in a straight line, but to the right. once I figured out what are saying in this video, I am able now to hit the ball where I am aiming. Great advise as always. Thanks.
Perfect timing. I just got done playing with a case of the rights. I have been focusing on shallowing and a tip was to have the palm facing up half way down. This requires some serious turning to get square at impact and gets me too handsy. I can't wait to try this. P.S. Love the shaking finger to communicate a no-no.
Excellent! I’ve had so many issues with hitting the ball left, and the only explanation my instructor has given is to keep the back of my left hand facing the target. That’s difficult to practice because there’s not a reference “feeling” I can develop for that. Your drill using the right hand makes much more sense, and you can develop the correct feeling using the visual reference for right hand position at impact. I can’t wait to practice this on the course!
Very good video, I don’t slice too often, but when I do the outcome can be quite horrendous. This tip is so good because of its simplicity and ease to implement. Many thanks.
Congratulations, you got a lot of honorable mentions on the best golf coach in 2024! Golf Spy had a top 10 list. Many of us said you should have been on the list. This is why a short and simple tip with a drill. Thanks!
Great tip. It definitely made a big difference to my ball striking and I’m not hitting the ball fat as much. Do you have any tips on repairing sheet rock?
Great video thank you it really resonate with me to have the hand. The trail hand be the representation of the face. I never heard that before. It makes so much sense and is so true. I have a turbo slice, especially with my driver the pump drill I done before, but the emphasis in the hand is where I’m gonna focus now. Thank you so much.
Love your tips and drills that is why I subscribed to your channel. They are easy to follow and it makes sense. Thank you for sharing. Btw, another topic- I noticed the golf towel in your bag and I love it! It is nice and colorful and not the same boring ones that one usually buys in the golf stores. Can you please share the brand name and where one can purchase it? TIA
Superbe message Carolin la main droite qui regarde en face et le coude droit très proche des hanches à la frappe le résultat est très gratifiant, pour m'aider je pense à une balle basse 🤗
a couple of weeks ago, i did this accidentally, and was very aware of it. my 9-iron approach was 2 ft from the pin. it felt very "right". this video is a confirmation that "accidentally" did something right!
The release is totally passive, it happens when the hands trail the body in the correct ratio. the actual turning over of the wrists happens half way through the finish, again a reaction, but if you feel like you have to initiate the release actively you body is not turning fast enough towards the target in the downswing.
Coach Carolin I am a right handed golfer .. do you have any drills for the left leg and foot to be more stable..( without the foot dancing around )..thanks coach appreciate your time
But how does ones not cup the right hand and bow the left hand too much that it actually closes the club face to create a hook shot, because this is what I do? And, at what point in the downswing does one turn the right hand down?
Great video.. but serious question… do you have a 5 gallon bucket of sheetrock putty in your garage? 😂 The level of anxiety I had this whole video waiting for you to get a little excited and put a whole in the wall was astounding. Palms sweaty over here.
This made me just flick my right wrist at it, destroying all the momentum already built up by rotation. I do much better just leaving the right hand doing nothing except along for the ride.

thanks so much! TBH I totally forget the walls are there most of the time because i get so into it LOL!

Another great lesson.
I will try this drill on the range. I think it will improve my ball striking.

Thank you coach . Well done!
This helped. Thanks.

Superb, thanks coach
Great tip!
awesome tip, i remembered this from years ago!
So glad you could remember this, it is a game changer!
what adjustments, if any, would one need to make to incorporate this drill to the driver?
Love it. Great tip. AKA I guess "covering" the ball.
another great tip!
Thanks for watching!
Nice Vessel Bag 😊
Thanks a lot from Indonesia
thanks
I like that !That palm connection I can work on that…

Amazing welcome to the channel and to golf! So glad to have you here!
a couple of weeks ago, i did this accidentally, and was very aware of it. my 9-iron approach was 2 ft from the pin. it felt very "right". this video is a confirmation that "accidentally" did something right!
like they say 'put your mind in your hands'.thnx for the help.
nice tip
ill try it out today
is it the same palm down for driver and woods?
thanks for your answer
You got it! Yes, it is!
How do you know when to initiate the “release” of the club in the swing?
The release is totally passive, it happens when the hands trail the body in the correct ratio. the actual turning over of the wrists happens half way through the finish, again a reaction, but if you feel like you have to initiate the release actively you body is not turning fast enough towards the target in the downswing.

I do! check out this video of mine => ruclips.net/video/Eipj-Z75fv4/видео.htmlsi=NdPuR1oQSo5RPcoo
who else loves his apartment corridor walls ?😁

Wondering how many times the walls in that hallway have been repaired! 😂
0! Believe it or not!
Pas de blabla très bon coach 👌
I guess I shouldn't have tried this drill at full speed.🤨
This made me just flick my right wrist at it, destroying all the momentum already built up by rotation. I do much better just leaving the right hand doing nothing except along for the ride.
its more about the rotation of turning the palm down not an early hinge. Maybe this distinction can help feel it better!
@@coachcarolin oh that's different!
69th to like🤗🤔🥰😍I made this realization on Sunday, the palm has to be in the slot and square to the target.🤗
OK, be honest, have you damaged your walls?
nope have not (yet) lol
You must be married to a drywall contractor.
Please drop the it’s like cheating headline. So annoying
bad swing
