i don’t know how to explain the euphoria that japan (specifically kyoto) brings me. it’s like a long, deep breath after the flood of worries and problems the world brings me. i’ve always adored traditional japanese architecture, it’s pleasing to the eye and looks almost as if it was formed with the rest of nature in the beginning of time. there’s so much beautiful nature, highlighted by the grace of sunlight. it just feels right, and feels happy. feels like home.

One of the reasons why it is quiet and beautiful is that there are few foreign tourists. If the number of foreign tourists increases, it will be noisy and traffic jams will occur, and the town will become dirty. This is not discrimination.

I thought Kyoto was a big, big city like Tokyo.

It’s quite sad to see the empty streets and so many of the shops closed. Two years ago, when I walked through these streets, they were packed with visitors and all shops were open. I hope Kyoto will recover from the pandemic.

My mother went to visit Saudi Arabia and told me that the Indians there behave badly, to the point that a woman dropped her food on the ground and then sat down to eat it from the ground. I do not know why the Indians behave like this.
Thanks for sharing this video. This brought back memories. No crowds in peak summer and pandemic compared to peak spring in 2019, when it was very crowded. People do add different energy to the place. Love kyoto temples.

Inspirational more than inspiring video. Greetings to Japan, to this beautiful and dear country from Fresno, California.
The streets are so safe and crime free, the stores show their wares all the way out front and on the street where they can’t see them. The doors are made of wood/rice paper lattice, or bamboo/rice paper lattice, a lot of them. You feel safe walking the streets late at night/ early evening. I haven’t been there to see family in 46 years, but I remember feeling so safe, a warm, and welcomed. I recommend Japan to any one looking for a vacation.
