- In this video, Yvan Lacroix and his wife Sylvie transform a garage into a proper detail shop. That includes a Kranzle Pressure washer, a set of bottle holders and racks from Maxshine, and so many other items.
What do you think of the shop build? Anything you learned from Yvan in this video?

Wow, Love it.
Thank you
Looks Great!!
Every human being on earth deserves to have someone like Yvan in their lives.
Thank you! I agree, I was thinking about how there's probably nobody *better* on earth to set up a shop for me with lighting, placement, efficiency etc..... and how grateful I am for that. -Nick
You and the wife did a great job. Awesome to see a good working partnership and relationship. Shop came out great and thanks for the content.
Thanks!
This really is a DIY channel! 😁 Great to see Sylvie in front of the camera for a change. She’s great!
Thank you, she normally makes sure everything works well behind the camera.
The shop update you did one or two years ago for Nick was on point, but i think this one is even better👌
Yes Yvan had a blank slate here, Nick's was a mess and was a different space lol. Also Yvan and Sylvie had time on this one, whereas the last one from 2020 was 2 days
Wayyyyyyy better! 🤓😎
The racking for the lights was very smart! Great looking shop and the detailing should be epic. Thank you for the video.
Thank you for taking the time to comment.
That lighting fixture is flippin sweet.
Right?
Saved this video for when I FINALLY get to redo my shop!
Can’t wait to see it!
What a view, and the new shop looks amazing! Everything is functional and has its place, the lighting rack I'd have never thought of but it will absolutely improve everything. I know a lot of hard work went into this, it really is awesome!
Yvan and Sylvie worked their butts off, it’s simple but functional. I’m going to probably start with a budget extractor and maybe save up for a steamer…maybe one day get Swiss tracks…but for now this is all I need to professionally detail at a high level 💪
@@diydetailofficial absolutely agreed! Everything is there and the rest will come along. They really did a phenomenal job, I can't wait for more videos from the new shop
The shop looks great! Love the hexagon lighting. It's a great look.
Thank you!
@@diydetailofficialwhats the minimum height for this kind of lightning do you recommand? 8ft to low?
Amazing am so glad you guys are doing great love the shop too. Continue doing a good job
Thanks brother!
I have those maxshine pad holders and polisher rack. I also had an older plastic 2 tier cart that I cut a hole in and keep my Pad Washer 3000 in it. Really saves the back not leaning over cleaning pads. As I use more and more DIY products I may just switch to using them as my main products and pickup those bottle holders. as a DIY enthusiast I have a shelf with so many different products that I havent used so many in so long I need to cull out stuff i dont use
The struggle is real haha I feel like buying new products is fun but you end up with the shelf of crap you never use. What I like about our labels is they’re clean, and our stuff works really well, so it does make for a nice visual if you line them up on a rack….and you won’t kick yourself two months from now for getting sucked into the hype of some brand with crappy products but good marketing 😂
The shop looks great. Love the lighting. Btw - had to clean the outside of the windows of the house this weekend. Decided to use DIY Rinseless and Ceramic Gloss instead of a glass cleaner. Windows came out amazing. No streaking at all. I presprayed the windows with rinseless. Then used a microfiber in bucket with rinseless. Sprayed ceramic gloss. Used a microfiber to wipe the first and then a glass towel to finish. Windows looked the best they ever have.
Excellent use for both products, thanks for sharing ,
I just priced out a wooden garage and it is way out of reach, lol. It is great to see what people do and you all that a great job
Thank you.
Awesome video!!
thank you sir!!
Nice to meet Sylvie! Hi! Great teamwork! I love what u did! Nick great shop!
Thank you
My favorite pair of detailers 😅 you guys rock and we’re all very happy to see the success !!
Thank you 🙏 🙌😊
Great video Yvan and Sylvie!
know it might be a fair amount of work, but could you add a link to the suppliers and a list of products you used in the build out? Some of those would be very helpful.
Will do in the description later this evening.
@@diydetailofficial Awesome, my friend, thanks. Are you going to be at MTE?
Yes we will be there, Yvan is one of the education day speakers.
💯
Can't wait to see you up and running. Looks great
Thanks Moises! It won’t be a full time operation as I’m working on a lot of content creation and back end stuff for the business but I’m stoked to get back into a shop setting working on cars…it’s my true passion
@@diydetailofficial this is Nick right ? We texted a couple of times. Hey bud I kinda took your advice and started to put myself out there, I've been showing my work and I'm getting positive feedback . Looking forward to black friday/cyber Monday
Thanks, our Black Friday sale is on now, special kits, and 30% off using the code BF30.
I would love to have a shop like that good job😂
Thank you
Lovely so good results. Perfect music also.
Thank you very much!
The shop looks great!
Where did you source your lights for the hex grid from?
Amazon surprisingly enough…
amzn.to/3ubRYJ4
Excellent work!
Thanks Scott!
I love this. It’s like Nick’s parents made him a detail studio for his birthday 😂
Thanks
There are separate shops for DIY and Nick? Also, I reduced my vacuum hose to a 1 7/8", more manageable/flexible, with more accessories, and up to 20-foot lengths. Minimal reduction in performance. Readily available on Amazon.
post a link! Yes Nick is based in Utah, but Yvan and Nick meet up at HQ in Omaha about once a month
You have a recommendation for a cabinet 2 door. That stands against the wall To keep towels etccc in.
Unfortunately not
wow awesome!!!
Agreed 😊
Awesome job!
Thanks Eddie! Yvan is the man
@@diydetailofficial you sir are the man
You’re making us blush…
Amazing setup!
Thanks Rob! Agreed
You gave me some great ideas for my home shop! What lightning did you buy to attach to the pvc if you don’t mind sharing.
These are the lights we used, this kit covers 8x16 feet

Sylvie! Always more Sylvie.
She is very camera shy.

Thank you
You still have the craftsman wall mount vaccume. You recommend ? Also did you change the hose. If so what you find. ? Thank you.
It’s an ok vacuum not my favorite
@@diydetailofficial you reccomend one ?
What you can get Locally that you can get service for.
Yvan or Nick....if I perform the wash, clay and protect with Quick Beads .....then add a final layer of Ceramic Gloss, can one assume the protection could last close to 6 months?
Absolutely 👍
@@diydetailofficial thanks for the quick response!
Our pleasure, thanks for the question!
First
I love Utah, many times I have been in Salt Lake city, Provo, Jordan, Roy, Ogden, Sandy
Nice! Yeah you said that you had swung through not long ago…
@@diydetailofficial yes, last year again 😄
Is that Nick’s old shop or is it just a similar one?
This is a new shop space for Nick-his old shop (he’s had 2) wasn’t far from this one in fact just down the road in heber city Utah
