    Even though I went through the police academy in 1968 I believe this still applies. Every evening when I got home I typed up my notes from the day and put them into an indexed notebook. It helped me retain the day’s info for exams that were coming up later. Sage advise about not going out drinking but I was newly married and we could barely afford monthly expenses.

    My test is in 3 weeks... I just hope I pass, but honestly, I'm so scared. I was active in CrossFit for 3 years but after COVID I just couldn't keep up. No excuses... but I guess the last years really hit me hard. Anyways, thank you for your videos.

    I believe people fail the police academy is that they do not listen to what the instructors are telling them., especially when it comes to passing the scenarios. They don't study and with having Google, and multitude of resources, I'm not sure why they don't take advantage. Also ego may be a factor or they just give up.

    Hello Lt. The Academy was 1994 for me. We had to drive around the park. Some one was drowning. We had to turn off the squad with our lights on and siren, call on the radio 10--53 Emergency drawning. Take off our duty belts take out our keys and locked the squad and run inton the water and resque the person and drag them out of the water and preform CPR. Then the ambulance would come and take over. Then resque some one in a fire fire. House fire to. I like shooting since i was perfect. Datt and MOHAB training. We had the run to the 50.yard dash. The obstical course. That was a charge. My test taking was the only thing i had to work on. I had to study in school. To i was born 2 months premature. Almost died. Scored perfect on the vehicle course. Ran over 1 cone backing up lol. We had target shooting, Taticial shooting, and hogans alley shooting that was awsome. I had the best score in the the drving, shooting. Everything but test taking. I be the last 3 people left out of a class of 34. Lol. We did servial training if you got shot or hurt. We didnt have tasers back then. Oc spray PR-24 and pistols, shotgun and AR-15 training. Gas M-79 40 mm training for SWAT, MP5- UMP 45 acp training. Climbing. Repelling. Jumping out of choppers and patrol boats. Fun stuff great video Lt. How long was your training 26 weeks ours was 16. We did it with the county sherrifs dept. My Marine Corps boot was 13 weeks, AIT 4 WEEKS SNIPER SCHOOL 4 WEEKS, FORCE RECON AND REPEL SCHOOL WAS 4 WEEKS COMBINED.

      That's an incredible rescue story. Back in the day, with no body cams we can't go watch that now but that would be amazing! Great job persevering through the test part of the academy. Sounds like you excelled in everything else. We all have our strengths!

    I got a question, if you pass certain classes or a certain amount and the academy kicks you out for failing a PT test, do you start over from day 1 or does your progress of the classes you passed save and all you gotta do is pass the classes you failed?

    • @copmom911
      @copmom911  Год назад +2

      This is a good question! In our academy, I believe you move to the next class unless you have too many points. Then you are separated from the agency. So it would probably depend on your other points. Having the same "points" for physical and behavioral makes no sense to me, however I did not create the academy plan! :)
