2013 focus with a 5 speed trans. Crazy clutch Fail!! Follow my Instagram and check out our website for CNG or Whipple upgrades. #focus #clutch #l8rhp / l8r_hp mtechsolutionsi...
Thank you so much for making this video! Why it was so difficult to find a clutch system replacement video for a manual on a Ford Focus 2013 SE is beyond me! I appreciate your help in posting this!
Ford has been using that trans for years in all kinds of cars and vans and it generally works pretty well. I'm surprised to see the clutch get burned out so thoroughly in so few miles.
@@L8R-HP I had a previous gen Focus that I punished relentlessly, but the original clutch would still chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift at 200k miles. But then again it was significantly lighter and less powerful. It does seem this one saw some serious abuse. ruclips.net/video/fMD46qeEKEE/видео.html
Impact guns- also known as ' miracle stripping tools ' Recently at junk yard a guy was trying to help me get a part off. He had battery impact gun. When he got done trying to get a bolt off that i was working on, i had to use my ' impact gun miracle rescue tool ' which was hammer and chisel.
If you have any brain you get those off and never put them back on . Lots of cars use those stainless cover cap lugs and first thing when you get them is change them out.
You can never tell. How bad the previous owner drove that car. I've had many of these ford focus 5 speed manual transmission. Great motor and manual transmissions. You can't beat like it a race car and think these problems won't happen.
Did this drive really nice after the install? I am looking to buy one however having trouble finding the Dual mass flywheel for a decent price. The clutch kit it is reasonable.
Made in Mexico quality. The Focus automatic transmission is about 10 times worse. My 2014 Focus rides great drives great but the auto transmission needs an $1800 repair job every 18 months & now that it is about 7 years old the plastic it is made from is starting to get brittle and I have decided to get rid of the vehicle ASAP.
When I had Ford Escorts I used to see on Forums an endless array of arguments over using heavy gear lube instead of the prescribed ATF automatic transmission fluid. What I learned when I had one all apart was most of the gears were in the middle of the case but off of the end more to the outside of the main case was I believe it was the high 5th gear. It had a little metal tray that would catch oil splash and carry it through the end of the case to lubricate the high 5th gear. I was concerned whether the heavier gear lube would travel down the tray as well as the ATF. I don't know how much different these newer Focus transaxle are from the Escort 5 speed. I also learned more recently of some other car and how the factory prescribes the gear oil and how that particular car has problems with 5th gear wearing out fast. Be careful choosing oils, sometimes it makes more difference than people think.
Most likely was from excessively hard down shifts broke the friction material and finally broke a plate holding it and wouldnt release so they probably stabbed the brakes and bird nested the rest of the friction. Basically pure abuse lol
They don't have the ' springs ' in the disc, they have solid disc and funny rubberized flywheel. Probably can't take even half of the abuse as old style. Sounds like progress to me.

This’ll definitely give me an idea what I will encounter when it comes time to do a clutch on my 2015 Focus SE 5-speed.
I doubt it will be this bad lol someone abused this car 🤦🏻♂️

The car is rough inside, someone abused it the whole 85k miles lol there is a hole in the carpet near the clutch pedal lol

Awesome job and come backs!
TIp for those Ford wheel lugs, pick up a 19.5 mm socket. They are specially made for those crappy Ford lugs

True!
The manual transmission is a millennial anti theft device.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The Fiesta was made in Mexico but the Focus final assembly was at the Wayne, MI plant.
Should we use 75W 90 gear oil instead of dual clutch transmission fluid?
Should work. Need to try it. All the oil does is lube the gears ⚙️
Thanks!@@L8R-HP

Hey is there any trick you did to take the axle out the transmission im stuck right here.
Pry bar and a hammer. Just be easy with it.
Would it be a similar process for the Powershift trans?
It’s a little different. The clutch is on the transmission on those and I believe you need a special tool to remove it.

Sounds about right lol

Which manufacturer did you go with on the disc pack.
I got the kit from Oreillys, worked great 👍
@@L8R-HP it didn't have a brand name on it?.
@@orangeguy3314 sorry I don’t remember, but they only had one option I pretty sure and it was in stock.
Wrong fluid , it is NOT a dual-clutch.
It’s just a focus
The automatic and manual use the same fluid. Got that from Ford technicians.
Not wrong. Factory fluid from Ford is Dual Clutch fluid same as the automatic. Can you switch it to Ford manual transmission fluid? Absolutely.
Hack-job repair on an abused car.
