Minor update: After comparing this to pictures of Sailor Pluto, especially how both figures handle the boots and general leg shape, there's very little doubt that this reuses some of the same parts as the Figuarts Sailor Pluto bootleg that is also circulating both eBay and Aliexpress at the moment. Would also explain why the figure fit so poorly in box, as the box is meant for a shorter figure!
I am pretty sure I specifically point that out when doing the side by side comparison, also mentioning the lack of paint application there at the time. Best part is that it seems to be glued in to some degree, meaning I'd probably have to break the peg to get it right side up.
While this figure is definitely no stranger to using parts from other toys as I swear this thing actually uses parts from an earlier Sailor Pluto figure, the pigtails may just be poorly done recast parts in this case.
Ouch. While interesting to someone like me who tinkers with these bootleg things, I can't say this one is a great substitute if you were looking for the real deal for reasons stated in video.
Sorry for the delayed response, but I usually find my material for these videos off eBay and there's probably tons of AliExpress sellers; I do not really provide links though as I am more informing of the quality of these things which is usually questionable at best and thus not directly advocating purchasing any of the stuff shown on this channel.
@@miscellaneouscell While it does not appear to be as common, do pay attention to 3rd party sellers on Amazon too, as I have definitely read comments about purchases there going sour with bootlegs as well. Usually the price is a giveaway, but always check buyer feedback.
Could've SWORN I saw this, but dismissed them as cheap legit ones because I didn't see any chinese ones. Double checking on eBay shown me otherwise. Would you recommend this for customization? Since Bandai show no immediate interests for Sailor Crystal Scouts (maybe for the upcoming movie) these might be useful as I've seen them for less than $20. I don't mind extensive mods BTW.
Based on the sample I have here, I strongly recommend against it for even sub-$20. You'll probably need a fresh set of joints to replace the incorrectly sized ones, have to strip the paint off the hands which are clogged so much they do not fit correctly in most cases, find new correctly sized thighs as I honestly believe now they came off a Sailor Pluto bootleg instead, and even then that doesn't cover the missing faces, poorly cased pigtails, probably wrong dress and waist from another figure too, and other things I'm forgetting offhand.
Unfortunately, the modifications required are just too numerous and require too many spare or custom parts to be reasonable. You'd honestly already need to have access to commercial grade molding and casting materials to really fabricate some of the parts required, which probably does not fit in most hobby budgets.
While true, the type of floor polish that seems to get suggested the most seems to have gotten more scarce in stores from what I've heard. Both of those and glue all work on the same principle of creating an extra layer of friction for the joints to grab onto.
Do the stickers on the boxes guarantee the figure is real? I recently bought one online and forgot completely to check if it was real. The box on the seller's page has all the warning and authenticity stickers. The figure itself is not very visible although I will check for flaws when it arrives.
While it' hard to confirm without seeing pictures myself, it does tend to improve your odds as I rarely see bootlegs go through that extra effort to dress up the fake. The height will be the biggest telltale sign though if you pardon the pun, as you can clearly see it is a good deal taller than she should be.
I would Rather Have the Bootlegs than Give Greedy Bandai 40-50$ for one Tiny Figure! And BTW, The Legit one Are Actually VERY Cheaply made and Are Quite easy to Break. all of the Work was Put into the Look of the figure which is FANTASTIC!!! But the actual durability of the Figure wouldn't hold up In the Hands of A Kid! Also what kid has 30-40-50$
I personally haven't any any serious build quality issues with the real figures as of yet, but the Figuarts line of toys are definitely more targeted as adult collectables rather than children's toys. Great detail work and color application, but punishing on the wallet, especially depending on where in the world you are located... which is part of the reason bootlegs like these get a market in the first place.

Yep...
It looks like the pigtails are from a cheap racing miku figure that was repainted

Oh no! I got the fake one, at least it has free returns. Thank you for this tip video!

SAME!!! :c, now i know that i should never Buy figures on Wish
Where did you get these boot legs? Are they found on ebay? More popular on certain websites?

@@ManyNinjas Thank you, I want to avoid accidentally buying bootlegs. I have gotten my items on Amazon and had good luck.

U can just used a naiL poLish coLorLess on the Loose joints or fLoor poLish to make it tighter if u have the fake one

I have seen better bootlegs than this haha
Figured it could go either way, but certainly did not expect it to effectively be a reworked Pluto bootleg as it was.
