Nice ride back to Oita from Saiki. One question if I may. What is the meaning of the numerous ubiquitous signs along the track that have a "Tsunami" like picture on them? Are they a warning that if you see a sign like that you need to go to higher ground in case of an earthquake? I've searched for the meaning and the info available seems to be almost zero. There is another sign that does mean earthquake tsunami danger but it looks nothing like these. Thanks for the video. Good job.
I'm not sure, but the signs could indicate the evacuation route. I'm guessing this because the tracks are so much higher than the houses in some places, and the signs are every so many feet apart - the train driver wouldn't need so many reminders.
