// My Story
I am currently a software developer who once modeled and thought I wanted to pursue a career in the fashion industry. While I was modeling in Hong Kong, I eventually felt the desire to further my education. I decided to depart the modeling world and move back to Canada, knowing that could be the end of my modeling opportunities. I attended Ryerson University for GCM (Graphic Communications Management), as I thought I might still work in the fashion industry in another capacity. It was in my last year of university, I was introduced to a very basic coding course. I instantly fell in love. From there I knew I wanted to pursue software development but didn't have a clue where to start. I didn't want to go back to university as I just completed a four-year degree. I decided to enroll in a 10-week intensive coding Bootcamp. From there I started working at a small startup learning and growing my technical and soft skills. I then transitioned to a larger company where I am a software developer and technical consultant today.
Landed a job in Tech as a business development account mgr! Not coding, but excited to get into the industry. Eventually will switch to software engineering once I continue to develop my skills
Did you have prior experience in tech sales? What's the salary like for your role if you don't mind me asking?
I thought account management is sales like marketing . What you do in account management for tech
Hello brother
Just graduated from coding dojo bootcamp python stack. Looking to do something similar - get into tech and then transition into an engineering role. I have been in wireless retail sales for the last 10 years and am now an area manager. Excited for the next challenge of breaking into tech

Forsure!
I'm a security analyst right now. I was looking into security auditor. I was going to use cbt nugget to do the training. I've been doing security analyst for 8 months. So I'm not sure if I have enough experience for any company to look at me and give me a shot

What about Australia.. are there tech companies in Australia n there salary range
I am currently in school. N I hate my programming coding class. I understand Ctt a lot better than this class here. It's an Associate Degree Course. I don't know if I should cancel it. N do tech support. Do I need a degree to break into any Career in a tech company??
I agree. I’ve been learning code for a year and I have decided it’s not for me
@@gabl9692 same here. I would hate to make an F but I'm a try for D or C. Yeesh this is stressful
@@cherrylu2733 And that's why coding isn't for everyone. People tend to see the high compensations and just think it's easy but it's simply not and can be a very stressful career/profession. That being said, I feel like school courses don't teach programming well; you would probably do way better watching different RUclips videos and/or Udemy courses to learn how to code properly using whichever language (Python, JavaScript, Java, etc).
love u

I’d love to look into UX but I’ve heard it’s saturated. But I’d still like to try it.
It's saturated and now it sucks. It used to be a cool job.
really? it is not a good option now?
i literally want to start to learn
@@kiwifrenchie6036 try ar or vr design instead of ux design
Yeah I quit looking for certs cause I barely saw any jobs
American's salaries are huge!
high cost of living think it is with healthcare
Great video, where are these jobs. I'm looking for a job. Please help I'm desperate Thank you
I am interested in learning UI
Don't do it!
@@farmcat3198 why
@@kiwifrenchie6036 It's all played out. Far too many people doing it now. Hiring is a terrible joke.
@@farmcat3198 i saw some good paid posts on indeed and it's very tempting
Or what else do you suggest?
From mechanical engineering to?
@@kiwifrenchie6036 Don't let me discourage you from trying it. I've done it for many years and am burned out. It's become a mess. It used to be a pretty cool job, but now the art people have taken it over and turned it into a disaster.
