Considering Pat Monahan's voice is about as close as it gets to Chris's I wasn't terribly surprised by the quality...I honestly didn't think his band could play the music that well. Not that they aren't descent musicians...but this is WAAAY out their wheel house and in an epicly weird tuning compared to their normal stuff, and they acutlaly nailed it damn well.
He cried at the end, don't know how he managed to keep it together for the rest of the song. Best tribute I have heard to one of Rock's most brightest stars.
I saw Train a few years ago and wasn't the biggest fan going in, but when I left I was so impressed with their covers and how talented they are and this is no exception.
Cracks me up the haters here...this was a tribute. Not perfect, but the ones being critical of his off pitch vocals should be able to see that he can't hear himself. If you notice he is messing with his in-ear monitors and then pulls one out so he can. Cut the guy slack, would you EVER expect Train to cover Soundgarden? I thought it was pretty damn good.
Job well done Train!!! You guys did Chris, Soundgarden, and the song Justice. Very impressed!!! Your performance sounds like it's supposed to. This is how it's done!!!
SolidDante611 moved up for train part of show just to get. Pat told me before show when I was hanging out with him he was going to do it and I freaked out and was so excited and told him I couldn't wait! He seemed really excited to do it.
One of the best tributes I have probably ever seen! Everything from the guitar performance, to Train's lead singer's amazing ability- to not only sing the shit outta this song like it should be, but also his voice sounds so unbelievably similar to Chris's here that it actually gave me the chill bumps!! Job well Done Train!👏🖒
Testament to Chris's skill as a singer is that no other singer is able to sing his stuff as he did. Don't get me wrong, this was great, but after watching so many tributes, it notices that Chris was just out of this world. The same with Ronnie James Dio, no one sings like him either. Dio died on May 16th, Cornell on May 17th. A sad month it'll continue to be.
I made this same point in the Living Colour comments. (So I agree). Note: LC did a much tougher song than this one. Nevertheless I still think this vocal is the closest I've heard to Chris
Wow. The band sounds awesome. But the singer... The singer... He is good, I'm sure he is. And also, the tone of his voice is actually very similar to Chris's. But this is not a good performance. He intonation is completely off. He is consistently sharp or flat. I mean that will happen through a 2 or 3 hour set. I've had it happen to myself. My question is, how many songs that night did you play before this on the set?
He doesn't even come close to nailing it. Cmon go listen to Chris sing it. Granted it's great they paid tribute, he was a rock god, but this guy doesn't even come close. Ian Thornley needs to sing it if you want to hear Chris channeled. Ian Thornley of Big Wreck and Thornley is the only one who even comes close to Chris.
Wow. Out of key the entire song. Respect for the thought, but terrible execution....wouldn't expect anything more from this guy....firing his entire band (minus Stafford), but keeping the band name.
He channeled Cornell spirit.
Jesse Enger
did he?
or is it Cornell with a haircut and shave???
nope!
still gone
rip

Jeremy Hale nicely verbated. Dnt know band except for tribs. Such as Zep. Meet Virginia with hot oxycute model/actress. Gayheart.

+Mutee Ur Rahman He was crying because he knew he sang the song out of key.
Dear troll. Wish you hadn't said that.
I'm not a Train fan but I have to admit that this is one of the best tribute covers that I´ve listened lately.
Same here. I don't really like their original songs but this cover is amazing.
I was there and frickin' lost it at how well Pat performed, and extra props to the guitarist for nailing it
The best cover job. Trains Led Zeppelin cover cd is pretty great as well.
Great! He almost sounds like Chris here which is not easy because Chris had a very original voice thats why he was so special and unique
One of the best live tribute covers out there. Many thanks for sharing.
I actually really hate this band, but this is really good.
Todd Angeles me too, I wanted to hate it but it's actually good.
I didn't want to hate it, but I fully expected it to be terrible.
I disagree, this like the others fail in execution. Taylor Momsen and Corey Taylor have done the best ones yet
Mike Love did a great version of Seasons as well.
Great cover, much respect for nailing it. Chris will be smiling on you for this one. 👍👍👍
That was excellent. Thanks Train.R.I.P.Chris.You will never be forgotten brother.
Say Hello to Heaven, Chris. You are missed!!!!!
This really blew me away... never thought Train would have one of the best tributes out right now
As a 90s kid the beginning of this song is an anthem to us. RIP Mr. Cornell
I saw Train a few years ago and wasn't the biggest fan going in, but when I left I was so impressed with their covers and how talented they are and this is no exception.
this gave me chills

damn good ,indeed .
Very good but train his pretty dang good anyway I think. I have been listening to this tribute none stop it's so good.
Amazing tribute!!!!! RIP Chris Cornell
Came here to say goodbye to Mr. Chris Cornell. Just sad. Life goes on😢
Pat Monahan is the man. A great singer
the best so far......guitarist on point too,,,, job well done guys.
It's pure and a hell of tribute
Job well done Train!!! You guys did Chris, Soundgarden, and the song Justice. Very impressed!!! Your performance sounds like it's supposed to. This is how it's done!!!
this is so magical
Nice Tribute to *Chris Cornell* ❤ Beautiful Pictures too
We Miss you Chris *True Legend* #NoOneSingsLikeYouAnymore
They did a very good job at this. Thank you Train. RIP Chris say hello to heaven buddy
Train!!! Really great job!!
RIP Chris :(
Great fucking recording. Thank you.

Kaeleigh Jordan i made a comment on Metallica Leper Messiah vid. Soungarden could have been inspired by it. The day before his passing.

wow!!! chills!!!!! fab cover.
I got chills when he said "no one sings like you anymore"
Gracias Train, esto relaja el alma :'(
Good job, Pat, as a tribute to Chris, how he kept himslf from breaking down before the end, thank you Pat , Chris is looking down and smiling at you .
Well done, great tribute.
sounds pretty damn good to me!

This was cool but the best tribute to me was by Living Colour. RiP Chris Cornell and prayers to his family
Well done.
Train is such a great band!! Great cover!
Wow muy buen tributo tmb
Muchas Gracias Train. I liked it.
the guitar part was on point
Nunca pensé que Pat podía cantar así 😍😍😍
Not a train fan but never hate em but I'll be damned if this isn't pure
Thank you
Train kills !
they definitely nailed it.
gnarl
1 rehearsal...
And here we see Train is still very much capable of good music. Makes one wonder why they're such lame pop sellouts these days.
RIP Chris Cornell
I know they mean well...
Wow. The band sounds awesome. But the singer...

RED LINE TRAGEDY Chris didn't sound good all the time singing this either
Wow. Out of key the entire song. Respect for the thought, but terrible execution....wouldn't expect anything more from this guy....firing his entire band (minus Stafford), but keeping the band name.
