    I just finished reading the book of John again. Dennis Prager, a non-Christian, cutting off Charlie Kirk, a Christian, and correcting him on what Christ *really* meant reminded me of the Scribes and Pharisees talked about in what I'd just read. Arrogant and condescending.

    My hubby drives all day as a mailman in a hot truck with no air conditioning so I drive almost everywhere when we're together with the kids so he can finally relax. He sees it as me serving him with love & so do I. But if we're on a date he always drives, holds door open, all the things. But this works for us.

      @stopteri 2 месяца назад +4

      I agree; we all have different ways of serving our husband or wife. My husband, like yours, is tired of driving because he drives big trucks all day, often long shifts. Somedays, like today, I even drive him to work! This is my way of serving him. (He is serving me by letting me take the vehicle for the day while he's at work- oh, and by going to work hard all day!!!)
      Edit: He will still come to the driver's door to open it for me and give me a kiss.
      But on many trips we would both find it standard if he was the driver.

    • @mchiaramonte3

      My husband is a truck driver, but will absolutely not let me drive when we're together. Even if we ride with other people and someone else is driving, I can tell he's a bit uncomfortable. He prefers to be the one in the driver's seat and since I trust his driving above anyone else, that's fine with me.

    Fun fact- my husband and I used to drive almost equal amounts when we would go on long distance trips. I used to pride myself on this. We were very Luke warm Christians and didn’t take our faith seriously. Im not positive the two are connect but as we became more committed to our faith he naturally started driving the majority of the time. I naturally let him. 😂 Something about a man LEADING and being the head of the family just really puts him the the driver seat. I do drive when we are on road trips (we love to travel) but only when he is starting to fall asleep and we still need to get to our destination. And hour or two TOPS. This dynamic is so much better and we both are happier with this change. Passenger princess forever!

    Dennis’ views basically absolve him of committing the most common sin. To think not all sin is evil is missing entirely how God sees sin. “Your God is different from my God.” He pompously and openly broken the first of the ten commandments. Jesus revolutionized Judaism because He showed us that our thought lives matter to God. To say Jesus didn’t say this about lust, when He CLEARLY did call out sinful thoughts on EVERY POINT, is heretical at best. He thinks he brought more people to Christianity than any Christian? The man doesn’t even believe what Jesus said! Prager sounds like the Trump of supposed “Christian” thought.

    Regarding Passenger Princess: I have noticed more and more women, especially younger women doing the driving. I just saw it as the natural evolution of the feminist movement. Women want to take over doing everything men did. I am happy to be a passenger. I try to assist my husband with navigation on long road trips into uncharted territory (for us). I leave him a place for his drink. I offer to drive on road trips and am always grateful when he doesn’t want me to as I immediately fall asleep when I get in the car on road trips. But whatever works for each couple. As long as it is not the woman needing to be in control there is nothing wrong with it, but I fear the reason women are taking over driving is because they NEED to be in control of everything! Just my take on it.

    2) for us- my husband is the main driver, but sometimes I go pick him up from work for lunch- I drive most of the time for this… mainly cause I don’t want to get out of the car and change seats- I’m lazy 😂
    My husband prefers to drive, but sometimes he doesn’t feel well so I’ll take the wheel. I’ve never towed our travel trailer! Also, my kids are 14 and 10, so I 1/2 the time ask my husband what he wants to listen to and I DO help with navigating when needed.

      Typical Jewish and middle eastern men’s mentality. Sex is a VERY important thing in Jewish culture. Once I heard Dennis say on Matt Fred podcast that lust is a normal thing with men and Matt was trying to make his point by saying that lust and love are not the same thing. You make love to your wife not driven by lust but bc she is a person ( and not an object) that you want to hold and have intimate moments with her. So the Christian concept of making love between Christians and Jews are different.

    Is it a bold statement to say that secessionism in Christianity is a big reason why all of these concepts are even acceptable to people? If most Christians believed that Jesus’s miracles were actually for today, such as casting out unclean spirits (since homosexuality can also be referred to as multi-spirited), the solution would be to cast out any of the spirits that didn’t belong there.

      you say it because you're married but what do you do when you're single or your husband is not available? we men we have to ejacul4te at least 2 times a week and if we don't do it, we have erotic dreams...
      its really difficult for me as a single man

      Whoever said that men need to “ejaculate,” at least twice a week?We’re not animals! We’re not brutes (we’re not supposed to live like this)! We were made to master our urges and not allow them to reign over us! Marriage does not give you or me some golden ticket to cash in on any pleasure desired! If you do not have self control before you are married, do not think that marriage itself will solve this issue for you. Yes, marriage is a blessing! Sex is wonderful within the context of God’s will but it’s not everything! Here’s my encouragement, get in the Word, grow in godliness, learn from older men, immerse yourself in the life of the Church, learn a trade, be wise with your money, stay away from &$&$ and exercise! You may do all of these things. Do them again! Read some John Owen, kill sin!

    I never really thought about the driving thing. My hubby does 90% of the driving and I do the navigating. He’s not necessarily very “alpha,” but when it comes to driving, he IS the man. Twenty five hundred miles on our first trip to Italy - he handled those roundabouts like a champ and we only got one of those tickets that just comes in the mail months later from the rental car company. I am still impressed by this feat 😆 I’m 63 and never bought into “feminism,” but I could totally be a bit softer - I can see where I’m the boss sometimes 😬

    Why do we inevitably grow older and die? "Sin", or in this case a subtle variant called "original sin"? But what exactly is this other variant of sin? Inattention? Not being conscious of every molecule of my body 24/7? This fascinates me.

    • @re-nx5fv
      @re-nx5fv 2 месяца назад +1

      Original sin is our present state of corruption. It is handed down to us by birth as a curse. It is a blessing that in this age we do not live forever, for this life is a test because we must always fight against our own flesh, and the evil of others. The blood of Jesus can cleanse our soul and spirit, which allows us to live in a way that pleases God, but our flesh being physical is still awaiting its chance to be made new along with the rest of physical creation. One day, those that have faith and repent of our sins will receive new bodies that are not corrupt, and we will once again have access to the tree of life and so live forever.

    My husband does all the driving when we are together. I don’t insist. But he does. I always offer, but he never takes me up on it. My only request is not to drive at night, I just can’t see as well. He sometimes has let me take over on long car trips when he’s sick, but after a while, he still insists on taking back the wheel. I can’t make him do anything!
    My family gives me such a hard time about it, as if I demand such. Nope. My sister wears the pants in her family. If she’s not happy, nobody is, but that’s just not how my marriage works. We are partners, but he likes taking the reins.

    "To this day" St Paul wrote "Whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart." (16) "but whenever a person is turned to the Lord, the veil is taken away" 2 Corinthians 3:15,16
    This writing is an allusion to the 1st Covenant and the Temple, where only The High Priest was called to enter the Holy of Holies, and that once a year on behalf of God's people and then with strict conditions.
    Under the New Covenant, Christ Alone is both our High Priest and the efficacious sacrifice which makes us Right and affords us the Grace and Communion with God via the Holy Spirit.
    It is now impossible to be made right before God apart from the Person and Work of Christ Jesus.

    Not just with a husband, but with any relationship I’ve ever had the bf drives, at least in 95% of the situations. Road trips def not driving that’s not even a question. This is 💯 normal, my parents have been this way, grandparents, aunts & Uncles, cousins who are married. Literally this is just the way life is. In fact if I see a woman driving with a guy in the passenger, my first thought is, what’s up with that guy?

Less judgment when you don’t understand a situation would be a better option. Maybe, next time you see a wife driving her husband, how about praying for that man vs judging him?

    I don't have a problem with women riding if that is the preferred situation with their husband. The only problem I had was the entitlement and lack of consideration for the husband with the drinks and music. Why should she get all the drink holders and get to pick the music when he obviously wanted to? We should love and respect our spouse enough to share. Besides that, enjoy the ride if you both like it that way. 😊

    My default is to get out of the car and let my husband drive.. it’s kind of my way of letting him take the lead. BUT I draw the line at being as inconsiderate as the girl in the TikTok clip. A: If my husband has had a long day, exhausted, etc. I will drive. B: I only take up 1 cup holder, if I need a 2nd I’ll use the one on the door. C: If he’s driving, I let him listen to what he wants. My rule is whoever is driving gets to control the radio since they are the one’s doing the work and deserve their preferred entertainment (yes, I view driving as ‘work’ 😂). My hub is a hard working man and driving for a long time will start to hurt his lower back so on road trip I will usually swap for a bit so he can recline, stretch and take a short nap.
