i use my own style pogo pin chip reader for these soip-8 chips. i havent seen the new chip clamp you talking about but i can confirm the orignal one was super junk, thats why i use my own pogo style. acdp also used something similar for their clamp and they changed it also.

Do you happen to have a video on the sequoia, I have only heard people talk about doing that one. But haven’t seen and exact video I don’t think.
