I bought the rogue about about a month ago. 35hp carbed kawi eng.. The best bang for the buck out there imo.. It cuts fantastic and lays the stripes on good grass. If anyone is on the fence on the rogue don’t worry machine is definitely worth the money.

I bought my Bad Boy Outlaw XP new in 2016. I could not possibly be any more pleased with it than I am.
I have worked it like a rented mule and other than regular maintenance it has not needed anything.
I highly recommend Bad Boy mowers.

The rubber cushion in the front and rear are independent suspension bumpers. The front axle are made off two beams that pivot in the middle. I own a BADBOY MAVERICK

I have ran bad boys for the last three mowers. I am I homeowner not a commercial person but between my yard and around the shop and out on the airstrip and around the hanger is about 9.7 acres each time i mow. My outlawXP 72” 38hp EFI Briggs this morning just turned 2869 hours on it. Yep almost 3k hours in 5.5 years and there has not been a single dollar spent on it on repairs other than one drive belt at 2400hrs. Although I know the old motor is getting a little weak but I’m just gonna replace the engine not the machine. At this point I’m just curious to see how far it will go.

To say the Rogue is comparable to a 5 or 6000 series is not really accurate. You must keep in mind the overall grade of components. Look at the size and quality of the spindles and idlers on the Toro, you have 9" spindles and properly reinforced idlers that will better distribute force in case of blade impact. The Toro spindles are specially designed to not torque the blade bolt when an impact occurs, which is something not many manufacturers do. The Toro has a rigid, continuous frame, the Bad Boy with the suspension will inherently be a weak point. Plus, since their front ends are typically different widths depending on deck size, they can cut costs on manufacturing as they can order the bulk of their frame in a higher volume and pop the front on later. Many manufacturers do this with Toro/Exmark being amongst the only ones that actually build their frame in a continuous piece customized to each deck size. I have seen more than once a front end yoke failure on Bad Boy. On top of that, while yes, the bad boy has a 3 gauge deck, it's mostly just a flat sheet of metal with no real reinforcements anywhere. It is actually cheaper to manufacture a deck like that then it is to take a lighter shell and add gussets, and reinforcements under the idlers, and stuff such as the solid weld bull nose on the Toro. And I'd put my money on the reinforced deck, even with a lighter gauge being the tougher option in the real world. Take a look at the deck lift assembly between the two. The Toro 5&6000 will be anchored in heavy cast aluminum blocks, and even the 4000 will be anchored in metal with reinforcements. On the transmissions, yes they're both Parker but the 5&6000 run that Unitized Parker that is exclusive to Toro and Exmark, not all Parker wheel motors are on the same grade and they specd a really high end wheel motor for that. When you really look at the little details like that it's pretty clear who put more engineering in their machine, and why that justifies a higher price point. Still waiting for a Bad Boy machine that can top the multiple 5,000+ hour 5 & 6000 series we have in the field. 😉

Absolutely, we sell both brands and Toro is our more premium brand and you definitely get more features on the 6000 series. There are many details that go into a mower, this was just meant to talk about the two largest components. We actually plan to have a video comparing the two in deep dive talking about a lot those details. Really appreciate your insight on this actually and we will make sure to speak on some of the points you made. Trust me, we love Toro too!

I’m interested in the bad boy for the suspension and ride quality. Plus what if Toro quits using that particular parker drive next year and you need one in 10 years are you going to be able to find one. I realize as a commercial user other than the ride the rest doesn’t matter but as a home owner wanting commercial quality equipment long term availability is a key factor.

A big issue is me is the TORO having the gas tank under the seat which can really be an expensive extra cost if you need to service underneath it, it being the gas tank. I think there is a difference in warranty between the two also, 2 vs. 4 or 5 years....

@@Jay_Hall I serviced my grasshopper and realized it is 10 years old and still has the original belt parker drive motors, original spindle bearings and they are all in excellent condition. I decided that I would keep it instead of buying a new mower. It has been excellent and I don’t want to chance getting something that is not as reliable. So grasshoppers for the win
