Very nice walk a round video of the contest room!! Nice and slow around each table is very much appreciated! Especially for us who weren’t fortunate to be able to go!😎👍👍👍
The Falcon! R2 moving on the X-wing! The Enterprise! The Galactica and a Viper! Incredible detail. Loved the dioramas especially the walker on Endor and the onset filming of a Star Trek original episode …genius! Amazing stuff brother hope you had a blast. Safe journey back across the pond 👍
Definitely the premier model show on the North American side of the ocean Saw a few builds there that I recognize from Lou, Oggie and Ken Spriggs. Lou's Star Trek TV set is awesome Lots of Marauder builds there
Can't believe somebody made the planet eating turd probe from original star trek!😂😂I love that episode. This is the high quality model building that was once on movie screens before everything went cgi.Beautiful work.
Lots of amazing stuff in here but that giant Star Destroyer is absolutely insane. And are Bill Krause's starship models as clean and flawless in person as they always appear in pics?
Amazing, I'd have loved to have been able to be there...unfortunately no love for Buck Rogers, at least I didn't see anything representing any of that show's vehicles or characters!
That was some amazing modeling talent being displayed on the floor. You covered it very well and, thank you for bringing back some old Sci-Fi memories.
That was amazing. Feeling very nostalgic seeing that incredible collection of sci-fi ships, characters and creatures. Allot of really talented people there. The attention to detail on some of those builds was outstanding.
So many cool things, Alien standing over newt beneath Hadley’s Hope, Lonestarr and Barf’s Winnebago, GunStar in its rack, Tron Recognizer, 2001 EVA pod, Lost In Space off-world Chariot, Hong Kong Phooey and a wild Aztec Lou.
Wonderfest has come so far since Larry Johnson started it as a toy flea market "show" back in the late 1980's. It was a great way for all of us to buy and sell the kits we loved and had difficulty finding pre-internet. We joined a modeling club that met at Mr. Gattis once a month, led by Lee Staton, who had Hollywood connections, and soon Lee brought a whole new experience to the show. Not long afterwards Lee took Wonderfest over after a vote was held during one of the meetings, threatening that he would quit and take his Hollywood connections with him if we didn't give him full control. Can't blame him, as he said, he was spending a lot of his own money and time and was getting no payment in return.
Wayne, A Ginormous Thank You for sharing an early look at the Wonderfest entries, Your videography is excellent and I have downloaded it to a Wonderfest file' Thanks again, and all the best to you and the rest of the "Gang"
man i wish there someone who made star wars diecast or what ever those models where made off would love a collection of my favorite capital ships like mc80 or venator or thrawn isd
I live in Louisville ky, and this video was the first time i ever heard of a con like this. I also enjoy your videos and the models you have done. Please keep up the videos. I am learning alot from you and adding what i learn to my own model building.
I enjoyed seeing my son David Jacobs' Xwing fighter. He got best in show las year with his BACK TO THE FUTURE. I would like your opinion on his XWing. He really worked hard on it. As you can tell, i am a proud mom and a scifi lover sin e 1949.
Yep. I remember you saying last year. Same this year. I love the model. Really impactful and I had to wait to get that footage as there were crowds of peeps around it
Thanks for showing the bottom shot of the enterprise g... and the most inventive thing (my opinion)was the model of them shooting the 1960s tos Star Trek show/set. The should have Lucy (from I love Lucy) there too. She was always on set.
Just got back from Wonderfest a few hours ago. Wow! The models were amazing this year. That Metropolis Maria was incredible, and someone did a fantastic Swamp Thing bust. Been going to Wonderfest on and off for about 30 years. Still SO much fun!
3:59 Gee do you think that modeler likes that style of spaceship? Those 2 lit Enterprises gave me a tension headache. 5:41 OOOoooolaaaa. Nice job. Wish I had that. Zips right past Snake Plisken. Must hate Kurt. Great stuff. My vote would be for the Gilligan diorama.
Remember Wayne when you get back... There may not be much left with those black birds outside attacking your man cave office...lololol Glad your having fun... Can't wait to see your new videos during the week...best regards mate...lolol
Does anyone know of a pro company that can make a bespoke 10ft long model of star wars executioner model. I am lucky to have large funding to spend. £100k ish.
Wow! What an amazing display of fantastic work from the builders....my hats off to all of you, you all did such a fantastic job in your builds. I think I would go a bit nuts having to decide who wins what cause I would just say hell...give everyone 1st place lmao. Thanks for posting and sharing this video Wayne.
Really great video and whilst personally not really into ScFi modelling I love the subjects and wonderful skills on show. There is some excellent talent on show and the boundaries are certainly been pushed in terms of the imaginative use of LED lighting. Really enjoyed the watch……thanks for posting…….👍
31:19 Me Again. Doug Drexler and I had a whole discussion about these.. The planet killer. TOS. They made some with wiggling tails in a remake on RUclips and honestly I quite enjoy those as static.
20:00 There's my Cursed Starfury. I spent two years on that one, turning the old Revell kit into something special. Lots of aftermarket parts, a 3D printed launch gantry, my own lighting kit, and a ton of damage. Only B5 ship in the show.
I make some scratch build stuff, some fantasy characters.. some robots and ships and dioramas.. But I'd never dare showing my stuff in an event like this.. I'd be put to shame. I like doing this but I'm no where near the quality of these exhibitions. Thanks for this nice video.
Wonderful models, so much to take in! Sometimes actually too much in one spot, I usually find it quite hard to focus on just one model at such shows. The presentation style has not changed over the last decades, it still is "put it on the table next to the other models, maybe a piece of paper showing what it is and who built it". Arts of work, just piled up. It may be my inner Monk, but seeing the "batch of "Bad Batch"-ships" not all going into the exact same direction felt unnatural :D. Thanks for sharing!!!
Wow a lot of great models. I wish I could have gone. But I attend and work the Phoenix (AZ) Fan Fusion (nee Comic Con) as one of the coordinators in the downstairs main exhibition hall. Perhaps next year as the Phoeinx convention is moving a couple weeks earlier. Who knows.
Ya jammy bugger lol, I hope you had an amazing time, what sold it all for me though was the kids stuff coming through from such young talent, modelling in the future is in very safe hands. Thank you.
I would like to think you from my heart for you making this video on wonder fest 2023 I love to come oo wonder fest but you made it make me feel like I was there I hope one of those years ok can come to wonder fest I saw your models you did a great job on them I know your great modeler and painter to good luck and have a wonderful and great 👍😃 day take care
Beautiful kits by so many talented modelers! Great video of the Wonderfest models and really nice camera filming! One day I hope to be there in person!

Saw a few builds there that I recognize from Lou, Oggie and Ken Spriggs. Lou's Star Trek TV set is awesome
Lots of Marauder builds there
They were from a Tag Team Hobbies model class we did. Mine was number 2
Some beautiful builds, love the Enterprise G,the standards of the paint jobs are amazing. Love the double take from Lou, lol.
wooooowwww
There are all great builds and talent out there. You know you recorded Lou Dalmaso at 29:33 looking at something on the table.
Holy crap the skill and patience involved in some of these builds, I'm totally awe!
I want that millenium falcon. It's my favorite star wars ship
Okay now I wanna go check this out this year coming if they do it. I never go to cons anymore but i should.
I'll be there
Beautiful job capturing the models Wayne. I need to upgrade my video equipment before next wonderfest.
That Star Trek Doomsday Machine...better than the one the original show used.😂😂😂
We have come a long way in 50 years with modelmaking.
This truly is the golden era of model building
Really enjoyed WonderFest this year, already looking forward to next years show! 👍🙂
I wasn’t aware Bill Krause finished Excalibur NCC-1664 as well. I thought he’d only bring the Enterprise-G. Really cool builds!
Thanks! I had planned to bring to bring both.
There is definitely a modelling renaissance going on. And people like you and Lou Dalmaso and Simon Mercs and Steve Neil laid the groundwork.
Thank you Shenuday
27:31, My dad's original scratch build.
8:42, my Wednesday Addams. 3D print by Sanix3d
Can't believe somebody made the planet eating turd probe from original star trek!😂😂I love that episode. This is the high quality model building that was once on movie screens before everything went cgi.Beautiful work.
Hi Wayne thank you so much for sharing this show as we cannot get there some of the models are just unbelievable enjoy your time there 😊
Lots of amazing stuff in here but that giant Star Destroyer is absolutely insane. And are Bill Krause's starship models as clean and flawless in person as they always appear in pics?
Even more so
Thanks! Unfortunately I only won silvers however. Not sure I’m quite up to gold standards anymore.
@@GCGBill I noticed more golds going to busts and figurines and less to ships and vehicles this year
Amazing, I'd have loved to have been able to be there...unfortunately no love for Buck Rogers, at least I didn't see anything representing any of that show's vehicles or characters!
Brilliant video covering such a range of models and busts I never knew existed but now will be looking out for . Thanks.
That was some amazing modeling talent being displayed on the floor. You covered it very well and, thank you for bringing back some old Sci-Fi memories.
Great exhibition, some nice sized Enterprises. Thank you for posting.
I recognized aztec Dummy’s work amongst the models, and then saw his cameo at the end of the aisle😂 I hope y’all have fun!
Wow looks amazing Wayne. I’m very jealous
Boy u not kidding u struck gold these models are amazing
Those fully lit up Star Trek kits were amazing looking. I would live to kearn hiw theg build them and try it on the kits i have.
Beautiful mate, absolutely beautiful. There's some talented people out there! Still on the Kraken i see!
Lol. Definitely
That was amazing. Feeling very nostalgic seeing that incredible collection of sci-fi ships, characters and creatures.
Allot of really talented people there. The attention to detail on some of those builds was outstanding.
So many gifted and talented artists!!!
Amazing work everyone!!!
The hardest job...being a judge at this competition!
I cant close my jaw !!!!! Just totally awesome !!!!!
You really captured the feeling of that room. Loads of great models built by very talented people. It was great seeing you again! See you next year!
Wow 😮😮 incredible work by everyone there
So many cool things, Alien standing over newt beneath Hadley’s Hope, Lonestarr and Barf’s Winnebago, GunStar in its rack, Tron Recognizer, 2001 EVA pod, Lost In Space off-world Chariot, Hong Kong Phooey and a wild Aztec Lou.
Words cannot describe the talent these folks have. 17:44 Now, this is what folk want to build via large scale modelling.
Watching this on a big screen while house sitting. The standard of modelling is superb.
I'm seeing a bunch of Lou's stuff..
Their is a lot of talent out there fantastic models 😊

16:44 "Thomas the Tie Fighter" made me smile. 😂
Thank you!
man i wish there someone who made star wars diecast or what ever those models where made off would love a collection of my favorite capital ships like mc80 or venator or thrawn isd
Absolutely brilliant and the care and attention to details was out of this world

This is like a woke person's nightmare..........I love it 😀 so much talent, creativity and sexy

Nicely-shot video. Soothing music. Love the Planet Killer and Howard the Duck. Many others.

Was there anything from ...
Blake7 , Red Dwarf . Hitch hikers Guide like the Heart of Gold ? What about Avatar ?
Absolutely fantastic models, i really like the Salems lot vampire figurehead with " Danny Glick" at the window also the Cloverfield monster
There is some seriously high level awesomeness happening here. Man, Neal’s Nightmare on Elm Street diorama is absolutely jaw dropping🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Wow ... Poor judges ( how do you judge that lot ) ... Amazing work all round ... Superb .
I saw of a few of Lou’s kits there
Remember Wayne when you get back...
There may not be much left with those black birds outside attacking your man cave office...lololol
Glad your having fun...
Can't wait to see your new videos during the week...best regards mate...lolol
Well that was disappointing . One model from Babylon 5 and nothing from "Firefly" . You Star Wars/Star Trek guys are obsessive . :)
Does anyone know of a pro company that can make a bespoke 10ft long model of star wars executioner model. I am lucky to have large funding to spend. £100k ish.
Some great models. Particularly like the Jem H'adar Battlecruiser and the Enterprise G.
\*Sees Mandalorian Jar-Jar\*
Every day we stray further from God...
25:20 Stephen Kerr’s “Legion” kit. Has interchangeable heads and parts. Huge kit too.
Some amazing builds...but the one that really tickled my funny bone was "Thomas the Tie Fighter" LOL!
Wow! What an amazing display of fantastic work from the builders....my hats off to all of you, you all did such a fantastic job in your builds. Excellent showing! And some fine damn camera work to boot. You really can enjoy the displays without a bunch of shaker cam effects 👍🏻

OMG you did a great great job.the music, the picture was perfect.not to fast ,I loved it . Thank you 👍
Two things come to my mind. Either I would be a kid in a candy store, or a bull in a China shop. My eyes would want to see everything!!👀👁️
Thank you for a wonderful tour, a great diversity in subjects many of which I recognized ( must be getting old) a lot of fine builders.
Who knows.
All of those are scratch built? Wow!! Some of the figures look like scaled down reality and that's on film!! Good job Wayne
Amazing work but I didn’t see one Gunstar, Orville or Firefly 🙁
2:44-2:46 I have built many of those Gundams. I want to get a few of those perfect grade ones for a custom gunpla I'm working on. Love those.
Ya jammy bugger lol, I hope you had an amazing time, what sold it all for me though was the kids stuff coming through from such young talent, modelling in the future is in very safe hands. Thank you.
Muchas gracias por tu excelente video, es casi como estar ahí ❤
17:23, my aliens abducting cow kit, lots of custom work on top of the “alpha centauri” ships, right next to that are my two “silly surfers” kits.
Great video Wayne! Lots of cool models. I'd love to visit Wonderfest sometime. Thanks for making this video!
Does anyone have any information about The Ghost and Mr. Chicken model seen at 17:16? I’ve searched and couldn’t find it online anywhere for sale.
Great video. Fabulous models. LOVE IT!
I would not want to be a judge for this. So many beautiful models. How could you ever pick a few and say they are the best??????
Great Job mate, spotted Lou a couple of times....Hope you guys had a great time....
Arr Hall of the Mountain Kings do like track, not many people know the real name of it and think Alton Towers. 17:48 👍🏽
Great video! Love the music as well. Thanks for sharing!
In London and no Doctor Who/ Red Dwarf shocking, one of BBC biggest programs.
