Hi Harvey yes you can but you must temper regular chocolate. And if your a beginner Id defiantly recommend you use a compound chocolate. Its just much more easier...
hi +Terry Brooks i use many different brands..im not sure which country your from but if its Australia then spotlight have a fantastic brand called Roberts confectionery....but theres also Amricolour there powder is fantastic too:)
oh no Angie its not the nestle melts ITS YOU lol ok you have melted it wrong. yes i do it always melt it in the microwave and never add oil. so i want you to follow these instructions. Put some of the nestle melts in a bowl (say about a cup) then put in the microwave for 30 seconds then take it out and either with a whisk, fork, spoon stir it really well for 10 seconds (this is the most important part without stirring it heavily the chocolate won't melt properly...) then repeat the process another 2 times and your chocolate should be really smooth. Maybe on the last session in the microwave you might only need 15 seconds (every microwave heats differently...). the thing with chocolate is if you heat it on too high or for too long it seizes so its like a lumpy thick pasty clump lol but if you do it gently and slowly and stir the chocolate in between to melt evenly then you will love working with chocolate to me its become almost an addiction now i look at things and think how i can make it with chocolate LOL do this and let me know how to goes :)
Can't wait to make these for my baby shower!
