If you really want to make people feel old: Awakening is 8 years old in the west, and next year it will be 10 years old in Japan. Many still remember that almost full year between japanese and north america.
The FE12 fan translation patch is over 10 years old by now.

Not having the new month written in front of him makes byleth sub consciously time pulse back a month
Go easy on him/her. Byleth was originally a Mercenary forced into being a teacher. This stuff is hard.
Fire Emblem Jesus says it's the wrong month, you just go with it.

Back in my days we had to sit around forests and get smacked by thieves with broken weapons when we wanted infinite ranks....
Even that wasn't infinite, the 99 turn limit got in the way.
The truth sometimes hurts, I'm on a quest to max every character in every possible aspect. This probably has cut hundreds of hours from the "attack with a broken weapon and miss over and over; rinse and repeat" tactic

@@angelowilliams5239 You can keep doing auxiliary battles, on every difficulty. That's how I capped all of Byleth's stats on Maddening, along with gardening.
White Magic Assist will give you more EXP than beating enemies later on.

I think I actually managed to get Lysithea's Dark Spikes by that chapter, but I don't fully remember... Either way, it took having her solely focus on reason and use her often too.
@@lily_littleangel yeah. It is possible with Lysithea (which means Golden Deer)
I don't think it is possible with Hubert (since Ferdinand and Sylvain cannot get Swift Strikes that early either. Earliest I've gotten any of those 3 to A-rank is about chapter 8).
@@lily_littleangel Its possible if you do things right and do the proper prep work. But you'll be cutting it close. On my first GD playthrough i've gotten her that spell like 1-2 auxilery battles before that chapter

To be fair you keep progress with the glitch and repeat for more, but Divine pulse just moves you back with no bonuses other than a retry
What's even funnier is that if you just explore, raise your rank, garden, and do the dining hall, you could just recruit almost all the students by chapter 4.

YEP I am currently doing this. Right now I have Lorenz Bernie and Marianne. The most efficient way to this is doing arena since arena gives 300 prof exp(anything else gives 200) and if you care about Byleth weapon rank then use 2 points each time and have 1 for choir practice(choir practice gives support point without using resources unlike the dining hall stuff)

This sounds like an easy way to max out all skill ranks for a house before moving on to the next house. Not sure if it's necessary, NG+ with maxed out professor level is already broken on anything less than maddening and possibly on this difficulty as well, but never played maddening so far.
Or it can be used to celebrate Seteth's birthday. It's the only one that will be missed on a regular playthrough.
playing maddening right now (on ng+) and let me tell you - maxing out professor level is probably The most broken when you're playing on maddedning because this is where having max points to eat/train etc from the get-go is very crucial & helps a TON

Professor levels help a lot in maddening, playing on a basic file for maddening I got my shit slapped so many times by RNG and especially the 'Rat hunt with Dimitri'. Second time with Prof levels gives some skills to level the field and do some fun builds with what maddening has to throw at you. Could even see people maxing every class and all skills in a single run with the glitch in case they wanna just run wild.
@@MSF_Arcane I wanted such a run for a while, but the old method to abuse retreat on normal mode with the spam wait in a few bushes was quite slow.
I still need to do class masteries, but having all weapon ranks and a ton of certifications helps. Class masteries are the easier part anyway.
@@Safkaish hell, with this glitch all the Professer levels do is open things in the blacksmith and stuff like that, given that you basically have unlimited time and battle points.
NG+ is easy mode, no matter the difficulty. Professor rank + Class skills + Battalions from the get-go completely trivialize the game, even on Maddening. Maddening without NG+ is a nice challenge for at least 6-8 chapters, and can be quite brutal without the DLC items, especially on Church route where you have no lord to feed. Blue Lions is the easiest route with Dedue tanking the early game and Dimitri destroying the rest.

-In 9/10 cases, just scout the monastery for professor rank
-Lysithea mage (in the beginning shit everything on reason 'cause dark spikes for killing death knight in chapter 4 and 6, but I think this is obvious)
-Fist Fighter Raphael, easy choice I think
-Dark Seal classes for Ignatz
For everyone else, just go with whatever they fit in naturally.
-Last but not least, just play ALL the paralogues you can get your hands on, especially that Holy weapons.
Don't know, but I just had those things in mind and did it without that much trouble

I did it with black eagles. The only cheese I used was the weapon skill training cheese. I had one run where I had to admit defeat and did an entirely new run which I optimised way more and actually beat the game on lunatic without new game plus.
Make a Vantage build, and at least one avoid tank with Battalion Wrath. Battalion Desperation is good for LTCs.

I’ve been abusing it on my ill-fated finish the logbook file. A few hours my whole recuited squad is getting more and more A/A+ ranks. It took 5 hours give or take but considering I have the full roster possible in blue lions the progress and speed is astounding even for bane ranks. Soon I will have all relevant certification and skill rank abilities, and probably will cap it off with getting everybody S+ authority since that might be marginally useful on maddening early on.
Chapter 8 is a great month to loop again and again. I might add. It also doesn’t have the explore gimmick chapter 4 has, and more instruct sessions. Seems to be a good spot to get a lot done(probably also chapter 9). Also if the visual requirements are in order it hasn’t failed once for me in what must be around.. 20 loops or so? I still save beforehand, but aside from not paying attention it’s rather basic to pull off.
One weird thing I noticed is that I get phantom skill ranks with no units next to them during the end of month report(while in the skip glitch). There’s about 4 of them all with a single riding or flying focus.
It’s odd how this game is getting a increasingly sour reputation for insane tedium and demanding time, and being a bit overly complicated with micromanagement, also now has giant glitches with renown, money(with DLC), and now time management that break everything anyway. Glitches are nice but I still wish renown just was a bit more lenient to manage to begin with(like tales, in which once you have enough for perks, you are set forever).
Also I’m fairly curious how a glitch-allowed character tier list would look like since boon/banes aren’t as make or break for viable builds on higher difficulties.
The phantom ranks are when a character learns 3 or more skill ranks during the session. This happens when you set your goals as "non weapon" ranks(armor,flying,riding) because the game will prioritize auto tutoring "weapon" ranks , hence when you skip the week , a character can gain more than 2 types of ranks
@@wronghouse5833 Interesting to know. Oblivously I have little experience with using auto tutoring on this massive scale. Or at all really. Figured out it doesn't seem to give any byleth support of budding talents either. It's really quite second rate in normal circumstances.
Still, it is quite a relief it doesn't make the game glitch after all, so thanks for sharing the info.

Never thought I’d see a glitch like this be discovered in 2 years.
I can see some convenience benefits of doing this glitch for ranks and support, but I’m thankful that this glitch isn’t raising any kind of alarm towards imbalance.
I agree it’s definitely a funny thing to try at least once (or more for NG+ runs).

Interesting glitch. I seem to recall a dev interview where it was mentioned the calendar system was added to the game near the end, so it makes sense it's something that might have been rushed in terms of coding or not fully tested.
Really? Recently I've been thinking the game would've been better off it just sticked to generic month to keep things simpler to track.
Shame they overextended so much.

I can confirm that this trick still works with the game fully updated as of 6/7/2023.
I'm doing a new game (not +) Maddening run, and on Chapter 4 (month 7), I have recruited every student except Ferdinand, got my Professor Rank to A, and the Weapon Ranks are looking great across the board.
My tip is to save up fish for this strategy. If you expend all the Activity Points and realize that the glitch is no longer working properly (walks to day of mission), then 1. reset, 2. fish, 3. save, 4. retry.
Tip 2 for month 7 specifically is to eventually stop caring about Tea Parties for Claude & Flayn's birthdays because of the chance the glitch will not work & a reset is required. Amiibo can provide the resources to make repeating the month more worthwhile for those who don't have DLC or online.

And for the later months, taking Certification Exams also appears to help change the RNG, so that the glitch can work when it originally does not... but without seeing the game's code, there is no way to know if there is an optimal way to change RNG or if it's a case of anecdotal luck.
I can't get mine to even do it once, I followed all instructions and got it to do what was shown in the video, but it keeps landing on the mission date and I don't have anymore bait
@@cheezy4902 If you can't think of any other ways to change the RNG of where Byleth lands, then try again on the 2nd week of the month - make sure to have multiple save files!
If you are just before the final instructional day (green symbol), then it might be time to give up & try the glitch on the next month that has the mid-month mission day.
It is difficult to troubleshoot what went wrong with your case without seeing things in-person, but I'd be happy to answer any specific questions to the best of my understanding.
(99% sure you already know this. The Merchants sell a limited amount of bait each month. You don't have to use up all the bait to change the odds of Byleth's run. Anywhere from 1-5 fish was working in my loops. But I switched to certifications for the future months, since fishing needlessly is a pain.)

yep, hoping for a new FE announcement in the E3 direct, as the last thing added to Three Houses was cindered shadows back in February 13 of last year.
Well, for the people who like infinite grinding in FE games people are gonna really like this

For those that want to S+ everyone, focus on leveling your professor first via battles and lectures to recruit everyone, and THEN do this. I was an idiot, getting all of Blue Lions to S+ and then recruiting some more and then getting those to S+ and then recruiting some more and then getting those to S+, and it took me over 70 hours... Do yourself a favor and loop to recruit first before looping for skills!
Finally, I can repeatedly farm stat boosters and give them all to dedue 😈

Give him the Aegis Shield and Defiant Defense and see how much damage he does with Vengeance and Armored Strike.

Still unpatched as of today. Thanks for the video! It helped me steer character development in a new way after I screwed up on them.
This news was revealed to me one day after I complete my No NG+ Maddening run. Well, not like I'd make use of it. But I'd like to at least have the option instead of pulling my hair out a couple of times.
One thing to note is on the last day before you need to skip to date you can explore and use all your activity points, then pause and skip to the date. Letting you do more before looping

Now I can finally raise Dimitri's axe rank for my armor knights only run.
I used to spend 99 turns per map healing and abusing enemies to maximise experience, this glitch will help me enjoy the game again lol
From the infinite renown glitch to the inifinite time glitch, this should be fun.
This glitch works. PLUS! If the characters have been sauna, they get that bonus exp during it. Making it go faster for exp grinding

Even if in the meantime I’ve played both Awakening and Echoes, Three Houses is definitely still my favorite game and every time I come across a video on it I get a renewed itch to play the game, even if I’ve put at least 1060 hours into the game as of now omg

I've just gotta say 1 thing: This is technically good for 1 specific speedrun category, but it's one that basically no one actually does.

Max everything in the game and finish it.
Like I said, no one actually runs it. But this actually makes that possible in 1 run without NG+, and in particular, makes it possible in 1 run without EVERY BATTLE being 99 turns long.
But really, it's just fun. It's insanely useful for personal challenge runs to allow you to get characters into classes early, it's useful for setting up NG+ files, it's useful for activating other exploits like the overflow glitch.
It's also just hilarious because you can just be "the god class" and just have a team of completely maxed out characters that can just solo the entirety of maddening each... by chapter 4.
Actually no, because you don't get the Merchants that sell seeds and ore until Chapter 5, and on 4, you only have 2 weekends of free time you can do the glitch on, and you're forced to explore for the first one.
I honestly wanna see an LTC that uses this glitch to just like, recruit everyone in chapter 4 or 5, get their ranks to insane levels, and then just go from there doing whatever the hell it wants.
Finally time to get Ferdinand S+ on all his stats.

Tried the glitch in my current playthrough during Chapter 4/Blue Sea Moon. Still works. Not only that, but I tried it 3 times just to see if I can pull it off multiple times in the same chapter. I forgot that the quests can only be done once, so that dissuaded me from doing it more (being forced to explore on the first free day of the month made me think that I'd be forced to do the quests more than once). I'd love to see how this glitch will affect playthroughs of higher difficulties; I've only done playthroughs on Normal. I'll be sticking with New Game+ if I decide to do that, though. I'm crazy, but I'm not psychotic. XD
2 years later and I'm still trying to prepare for Blue Lions chapter 13, and this is another strat that I may give a try.

Heh this is awesome. I started this game less than a month ago after getting my first switch. This literally came up at the perfect time as I am in the month of the white Heron cup , so I can do this glitch over and over and over until I am ready to move on. This absolutely kicks butt. I think so too! If you hold back on it a little bit you could squeeze out that little bit of extra weapon rank to reach an important benchmark, or maybe you forgot to do something during the month and this is how you can try again. It also gives you more time to do paralogues.
Or if you're having trouble with maddening mode even WITH NG+.
Largely as a result of not knowing what skills are where, how good, and timecrunch making mastering classes look all "Oh gods can I even do that." And how in the fuck gardening works.

still works but theres an update im ignoring so it might have been patched.
edit: 0:59 for anyone curious, it treats it as a rest command and skips to the last day. so even if it looks like you did it correctly its going to stop on the mission day.
They could always improve the framerate and fix pop-in
I usaly train wepon ranks with broken weapons against bandits who do 0 dmg in the level grind maps. They do 0 dmg and I don't hit them but I still get weapon xp and class xp. And for magic just put as ajudant and equip right magic type
Hopefully this doesn't get patched out. Stuff like this is honestly just kinda fun esp if for people who want to play the game casually but mess around with super strong armies.

Sometimes I wish this glitch wasn't discovered, because I've spent so much time capping stats, getting rare ore, meat, and class masteries with it, when I could've beaten multiple playthroughs or gone onto other games. Still have only barely touched the Warriors 3 Hopes demo.
I recently got the DLC, as I only started playing 3H after covid hit. Can confirm this still works.

Maddening is all about making good use of tanks (aka Dedue/Balthus), battalions and rallies, or cheese with a full bow squad

Finding this before I start my NG maddening run is dangerous.
Not sure if someone said this yet, but when holding right, wait for the current day to be a dim yellow on the calender, and that causes the selection to move to the next day

@@FintanMajora It's a little tricky, but it does work, try to set up a pattern and be a little patient. If you're not, you can just keep spamming it until you get it to move
Boy imagine Maddening but you can actually use classes other than Wyvern Lord
Fortress Knight, Great Knight, Swordmaster, Assassin, Hero, Sniper, Grappler, War Master, Gremory. I've used all of these and my run was okay. Ambush Spawns depending on the enemy can screw over any unit.
Welp. I haven’t gotten into the expansion scenario yet but this makes me wonder if it could work. Good to know.

I started a new file (choosing Blue Lions) just so I could do this trick. (My other playthrough, Crimson Flower is on a month where it and the one after it both have the story battle at the end of the month.)
Frankly, as someone who has only somewhat recently started playing FEH:TH, I think this is funny. Though the fact there’s lots of bugs and exploits in a video game is no surprise. Developers aren’t gods, after all
I have been using the retreat function to get infinite Exp... I wish I knew of this months ago when I spent 150 hours getting all of the Golden Deer and DLC characters to S+ in all weapon ranks.

I just discovered a pitfall when doing this glitch: Trade secrets will not be dropped by or stolen from enemies if you perform it.
Edit: I believe it's only if you trigger the glitch before completing the quest.

0:57-0:58 too bad I forgot about this. On the 4th month and decided to do the free days to get quests, characters and some class exp and levels but now I'm on the free day right before the mission. 🤦🤷😩 Now I can't do this trick again until the 7th month.
With this trick, my class will definitely be able to stop the primordial from being released at the end of the month!

So I'm only able to get it to work twice in a row before i start having issues, but it does work, and it's silly and I laughed as I did it because with FE Engage out this is never getting patched.

I am so glad I found out about this before advancing the chapter I can do this first time in Golden Deer route. I can’t stress enough how much I freaking love this. This is fun because I can now use units in classes I never would of used on them. Been wanting to try out Hilda in the Knight class. Maybe I’m gonna have more fun and use units in classes I never would of used before.
Oh and yes this is freaking awesome as it gives you money and raises your professor level:D
I'm also going in the Golden Deer route for the first time, but I'm going Maddening mode and this makes it x10 easier

@@CoolLatiasLatios It's going great so far, made a lot of money within some months, great for Petra as I abuse the garden to produce the speed carrots for Petra and use her on every battle.
I'm getting near the time skip portion and still on the somewhat last month before it happens, so I'm gonna keep abusing it because I know Post Time Skip enemies will be broken

The fact that I can train units in heavy armor is funny🤣😂 I on purpose trained Marianne and Lysithia in heavy armor and they have B+. I cat wait to train more units with flying and riding because having those avoids and plus one movement helps a lot:) For me my two highest current speed users are Byleth and Yuri:D Can’t wait t I also take advantage of the garden for the Stat boosters too👏

I’m on chapter 4 of my first playthrough and this glitch is busted af. So many of my students already have C+/B ranks on their preferred skills and weapons. It’s looking like I can recruit everyone I can in my first run which will be nice! As far as I know it just works on chapters 4, 7, 8 and 9 prior to the timeskip, is that right?

Doing my second playthrough now, my first NG+ run. I’ve only done the glitch once and it was just to celebrate Seteth’s birthday. But it worked! I remember last time I did it on Chapter 9, I didn’t witness the Goddess Tower a second time when I went through the month without the glitch. Let’s see if that happens again as I do it with Dimitri.
And here I thought New Game+ couldn’t be more broken.
I got it to work and now I’m just enjoying the show.

I just found out this time that you can't cook meals for stat boosts every week. I tried it on the final month before Chapters 17 & 18 in CF, but that's the only time you can do the glitch in Part 2, along with AM.
yeah in part 2 there is like 1 opportunity to loop if that.

It seems like IS is too busy developing whatever the next Fire Emblem game is to bother patching this out, 3 weeks later and to my knowledge this still works.
