lud in the mist !! i rly like that novel & so i'm glad u tried to read it :) i think its written rly well & loved the way it wrote about the law as a sort of mass hallucination
Aaahhh, I'm so glad that you enjoyed M is for Monster!! 😁 I feel like it's one of those graphic novels that I would love to see in as many school libraries as possible. I would have found so much comfort in it as a young queer teen ☺
I knew from the intro that you'd hate Chlorine. I won't pick it up because I don't love books that go "off the rails" in their absurdity. Don't give up on Horror entirely but like you mentioned, I don't think you've found your niche yet. Happy reading! 😀
@@KateyOneMoreTime Hmm, it’s a bit tough since I mainly read thrillers and sci-fi, but I think these are classified as horror and could possibly interest you. None of these are satirical but they do have some level of commentary and are not just a slasher. “Paradise Rot’ by Jenny Hval - Lyrical, queer female sexual awakening with some hazy weirdness. “Delicious Monsters” by Liselle Sambury - Dual timeline, YA horror that explores mother-daughter relationships with some supernatural elements. “Little Eyes” by Samanta Schweblin - Dystopian horror examines human connection (and depravity) in a world where essentially humans’ control Furbys that other people buy and treat as pets. “Motherthing” by Ainslie Hogarth - Comedic horror examines motherhood, depression and goes a bit off the rails. TW: suicide I haven’t read this one yet but it’s on my TBR: “Remina” by Junji Ito - Adult manga explores the apocalypse and depravity of humanity as another planet is on a collision course with Earth.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give me some recommendations! The next time I feel up for trying horror, I'll definitely come back to this comment!
Just finished Natural Beauty, I’m a big scary cat about horror and it’s amazing. OMG and in real time Chlorine was amazing, books and lala convincied me this summer and no regrets! WOW a comment that had aged like milk through this video: ouch 😅
On the off chance Tammie or Kenya find their way to this video - I am sorry, please forgive me! 😭❤️

I've ordered it in as stock at work. I can't wait to recommend it!
Interesting books! I haven't seen any of them around I think.
I do love that you're talking about fake Ikea while sitting in front of one of the Ikea products that I also have in my home 😂
Haha yesss XD
You’re talking about books and I’m just staring at Ollie 😍 Best Booktuber assistant
She really is!! 🥰
New to your channel and really loved hearing your thoughts on these! Great vlog!
Thanks so much!
I’d love to hear more about Horror. I’m a scaredycat but apparently have read quite a bit of horror- before I knew it was a genre.
Scaredy cats unite!
Wow, I was not expecting you to dislike Chlorine!
Me neither!! 😭

Ooh interesting! Any chance you have a recommendation for a horror that you think might be more up my alley?
