- Spencer Claeys specializes in deep cleaning and removing layers of moss from roofs. He starts the cleaning by leaf-blowing any loose debris and brushing the moss. He applies a chemical spray and treatment powder across the roof to prevent moss from regrowing.

Removing Moss From Crevices Of A Roof | Deep Cleaned | Insider - Развлечения
OOh that is SO satisfying when he pulled that big thing out, it just hits all right spot 😩
That's what she said.
"Get your mind out the gutter!"
Badum titssss
Wdym by that 🫢
You just cream your pants or something?
Aquí en el norte de Alemania también tenemos grandes problemas con los depósitos de musgo.
Soooo satisfying to watch
To avoid having to do this again, I'd recommend installing copper roof tape. It prevents future moss problems and damage to the roof surface in a safe, chemical-free way. I bought my copper tape from Homemerce and it is very effective, no more moss.
Very cool. I had to do my roof when I lived in the PNW. If I had thought I could make a business out of it I would have instantly done so. Very cool.
moss roofs look good tho
You obviously do not own a home.
Yus. Moss is hot
@@DarkBrandonForever you have to own a home to think it looks good? 🤔
Insurance companies hate it. I gotta clean mine off before they'll cover me
I totally agree, and did not want to remove mine because of the look but they grow something similar to Ritz they go under the shingles and they hold a lot of moisture against the roof, eventually work its way into the sheathing and will rot the home. If you want to have a mass roof that’s certainly possible, but you have to plan for that when you design your roof, a standard shingled roof construction will become destroyed
The people that made power washing simulator needs to make a moss cleaning simulator
For what?
I enjoyed this video! It was very sensible and keeping ones roof clean is important. I'd hire this guy.
I wouldn't!
It'd be nice if there were roofs that worked well together with the moss, I'm noticing that the moss is getting into the crevices too; this could maybe be used to play around with design and what not.
Nice work
Kate Moss disliked this video.
So fun to watch that
What kind of broom are you using? Anyone know
Now that's a professional tool I can get behind. The stick!
Ok but do you sort the moss by color or taste?
Great video! Question for you: what is that broom head you’re using??
hi there, thanks for the video. it really helps. quick question though. if we live in a dry area and theres not much rain as we are usually in a drought situation. should i hose down the powdered zinc? or should i just treat it with a liquid form?
For me that have acrophobia, seeing you walking on the roof easily without slip and affraid to falling down make me questioning about Gravity 😭🤣
They must have REALLY good shoes…
everybody has their own methods, and this video is great, the only thing that I would discourage is brushing roof surfaces as you will get significant granular loss and losing your top layer of roof.
one word : satisfying
Sooooo satisfying.... Is there really anything that cannot be cleaned?
Aside from the ocean floor......
To make something clean, you have to make something else dirty.
How much should I expect to be charged for this service? Mine is in a similar state to your before/after photos and I live in portland
Good video Thanks. I can't locate the Zinc powder, is there a brand or trade name for it? Thanks
Guys, is these mosses good for making composts? Like, I'm not a gardener or whatever, I'm just curious.
This video could be considered an ASMR video.
Am I the only one worried by him working on the roof with no tether?
Yes you are.
yeap, probably just you
Na he's a professional
those weren't steep roofs
What do you charge?
Insider deep clean.
Sounds like a different job.
Lmfaoooooo
How much do you charge for a job like this
I can't click off😭😭😭
Never walk on the ridge vent!
did you mean water can get up in there?
👌👌👌
Moss
Wear your harness.
Gutter guards just make a bigger mess and more work.
I think I would prefer the moss growing in because it give the house that antiquated look
🙃🙄Not!!!
will lead to premature shingle failure
How is he not falling???
Good video. What kind of brush is that? it seems to work pretty good.
huuuuuh why are there sponges in the gutter?
Because if the gutter is full of porous sponge, water can still flow and the gutters can work, leaf debris and soil prevent that and cause your gutters to overflow and leak. Usually means you only need to maintain your gutters 2-3 times a year; these gutter guards just got left too long.
The only moss that is acceptable on your house is Randy Moss.
Urin
imagine he went to Hobbit house
from what i see, the roof design seem to be the issue , all the same style , lol
Isn't bleach super toxic to humans and animals if they ingest it and if you inhale it? You can see a big cloud of the powder blows off the roof it sounds super unsafe. Plus i can't see you are using any kind of respirators mask to protect yourself from the powder and the other chemicals you use. And you don't mention if they are dangerous or safe chemicals. Isn't it standard now days to say that it's "Eco-Friendly" OR if you need to take special precautions when handling the chemicals??
PS: Sorry if i sound like a dick. I'm just very afraid of animals will be harmed due to mishandling of chemicals and etc (I'm not saying that you do, I mean in general)
I've watched the video 10+ times now so I didn't miss if you were wearing a respirators mask when you spread the chemicals. Why on earth are you not using any mask???? To show this video on this channel I think is very bad. It signals mismanagement when handling chemicals.
sodium hypochlorite is bleach/chlorine, and the powdered version is calcium hypochlorite. you swim in it, and it is used to treat your city's drinking water. you can spill industrial-strength SH on your skin and it won't harm you. it might be "smart" to use a respirator but unnecessary. SH neutralizes itself in less than 12 hours and when diluted by rinsing any overspray. the worst thing that can happen is that you kill the leaves on a couple plants that you didn't rinse off.
first
I can't be the only person who thinks moss is absolutely disgusting, right?
On a roof especially! In the forest, helps decomp, but not on a roof!
Moss is a natural insulator and doesn't damage the shingles... Of course you should remove it from the gutters but there's no real reason why you should get rid of it anywhere else... It's a fake problem caused by companies to make money
are you smoking moss weed? It holds in moisture and damages the roof especially cedar shake.
tell that to the home inspector when you go to sell your house. or the roofing manufacturer when you try to warranty the roof due to water intrusion because the trapped moisture and separated shingles caused them to crack and leak.
What powder do you use
dont brush or scrape the roof, treat it with sodium hypochlorite, and let it die and fall off on its own.
