Hello.....yes no two lead guitars.....but they have a lead bassist !!!!!!! Not many bands have a bassist of Misa's calibre and Band Maid makes full use of the Kanami / Misa lead duo's !!!!
The relationship between Kanami and Miku is a combo of sensei and big sister when it comes to guitar, as noted Kanami has taught Miku to play guitar since they decided the band needed another instrument at the beginning of the band. The respect and affection that Kanami has for her student was evident in the Yokohama Arena documentary where Kanami talks about working on a solo guitar intro that Miku could play for Influencer, and Kanami started tearing up just talking about it in the interview. In this intro you can see Saiki and Kanami sitting on the corner of the drum riser behind Miku and you can see Kanami start to cry and Saiki putting a hand on her head. It's not difficult or technical but it was Miku's chance in the guitar spotlight. ruclips.net/video/EpUZMCm0Qdk/видео.html
Great reaction again! Loving your journey down the pigeon hole! When the band started Miku couldn't play guitar at all. She's become a really tight rhythm guitar player that has added a huge depth to the band. She'll probably never be a shredder, but she's great in her role, and, of course, she's great on backup and occasional lead vocals, and she's also the band's primary lyricist. Oh, and she's the front person for the band, leading the (ridiculously fun) MCs in concert... to say nothing of having invented the band. So, really the heart of the whole operation.
I'm reminded of a story Paul Simon told. Art Garfunkel and he were in a car when they heard "The Sound of Silence" on a car radio. One of them said, "Those guys must be having so much fun right now!" That's what these "white room" videos of Band-Maid jamming out remind me of. While they are serious about their music and practice their butts off the be their best, they really do enjoy playing music together. I have been to two of their live concerts and that ethos comes through during those performances. They live to perform their music live before an appreciative audience and the audiences get their best EVERY TIME.
That’s the Band-Maid sound. They have switched the rolls of Miku & MISA. Rhythm guitar holds down the melody while bass, lead guitar and drums are free to shine at any given moment (Miku is getting more opportunities to shine as she grows as a guitarist). Such a great all round sound, no one does it better. Thanks for the reaction
In addition to her role as rythm guitar, Miku is also a full time backup singer for Saiki and sometimes even the lead singer. Band-Maid has a this special characteristic of dual lead, harmonizing vocal line providing such a unique sound signature to the band.
FYI, Kanami now plays through Bogner, and Misa thru Aguilar. Pigeon, still the 5150. They all started with Marshall back in the day, and Miku played a Rickenbacker in the olden days, and Kanami an Addictone. Both switched in 2016-2017.
Nice reaction....btw Miku Kobato never played the guitar when the band was formed in 2013...However under the care of Kanami (her personal tutor) Miku has developed her guitar skills into a good solid guitarist and now is developing her own solo style...also Miku is the backup singer for Saiki so she is doing double work on stage and Miku also writes most of the song lyrics and Miku is also the band's founder and its main spoke pigeon (joke)! Thanks for the reaction keep it going...Peace & Respect from Canada
So how come she's playing guitar in their very first show with Saiki? Hmmm? She sings dual lead vocals with Saiki for the opener but straps in after that. Please stop repeating myths as canon. Also, why would she be playing a $3300 Rickenbacker instead of a guitar Kanami was familiar with if she just bought it for the band?
@@jeffersoncosgrove1910 wait I have videos of my channel early band maid where miku does not have a guitar in multiple performances of various songs. If you type in bandmaid 2013 in the search and look at all the performances through 2014 she does not have a guitar??? Was it only certain songs? She might have always had a guitar but she certainly wasn't playing but the occasional strums.
@@jeffersoncosgrove1910 as for the Rickenbacker she bought it because she “liked how it looked” T that time Kanami was using an Addictone guitar not the PRS guitars which came later
@@jeffersoncosgrove1910 In the bonus video from Yokohama Arena, when Kanami is asked what she thinks is the best part of an arena concert, she answers that it's Miku playing the guitar solo, and that Miku couldn't play the guitar at all when the band was formed. She gets a little teary at the time. Recently, a young female lead guitarist of a college student BAND-MAID cover band said that she was so moved by Miku playing the guitar alone at Yokohama Arena that she became a fan. It's amazing that a woman who couldn't play the guitar at all has grown to the point where she can perform solo in arenas with the members of BAND-MAID.
At the recent Zepp Haneda shows, I seem to remember it was "Influencer," with an added guitar duel with Miku and Kanami back to back on the central riser trading leads and having a blast doing it. Other highlights included Miku, Kanami, and Misa on separate risers trading solos with Akane.
Well done 👍🏽 Onset and Without Holding Back are more traditional (if you can call an instrumental that) in their execution. However, “From Now On” comes at you differently. The lead single from their “Unleash!!!!!” album. Who leads with an instrumental?! It’s also frequently chosen as the set opener when the Maids do festivals, because the audience is typically unfamiliar with them. So they choose it to make a statement. Make sure you have good headphones 🎧
We are all awaiting the day that will surely come of dulling Kanmi and Miku solos but what you gotta understand is that Miku literally started learning guitar after they started the band and Kanimi has been her teacher. Miku has come from playing nothing to performing her first solo intro into a song this past year live at a huge show, not to mention her acoustic performances she's done the last few years. Her progression has such a cool tie in to the bands sound progression as she gets more and more capable every year, Kanami can write more complex layered guitar compositions because she can play them live
hi brian, do more ningen isu. I know band maid has more reach and but this one you will love: "ningen isu - shinen live" from a smal channel: "y misty" I'm afraid to put a link in the comment du to spam filter. anyhow you might just enjoy the song without a reaction.

My favorite instrumental song by BA ND-MAID. I'm really excited!

This is gonna be fun! All their instrumentals are phenomenal, but WHB is epic. Akane!! 🥁🤘 Miku and her V 😍🤘

The obvious next step is 'From Now On' 🔥

My favorite band-maid track. Hope the next album sounds like this.
This is such good stuff!
They do have dual leads. It’s just that one of them is a bass.

Next (If you haven't checked already) should be Don't be long

Thanks so much nice reaction!
How about From nou on or On set or Jovani (at white room version) is the next song?
Giovanni is coming soon.
EVH is smiling every time this song is played!
Well said, Wayne.😁👍
Having a Les Paul type guitar setup for rhythm and a PRS for leads gives a nice full range of tone.

Kanami really likes her Eventide H9, she uses it a lot.
Miku will get there, Po. She is a busy Pigeon, and she is 810 years old. 🕊️
