After several years of dickering over who was going to get to drive our 2015 Model S P90D for the day, we decided we needed two EVs in the household. We traded our P90D in August for a Model S Plaid and are awaiting delivery in the next three weeks of our Lucid Air Dream Performance. One of us felt the Tesla was a more known quantity at this point (and was willing to tolerate the likely quality issues which we, in fact, encountered with the Plaid). I was more intrigued by the technical advances in the Lucid powertrain and more interested in back seat space that did not force us into our Honda minivan when we were taking friends out to dinner or for a day trip. We'll soon know whether Lucid steals a march on Tesla's build quality. But a friend has already received his Air Dream Performance, and I've been corresponding with some Lucid forum members who have already taken delivery. So far, so good on the initial build quality. Determining the Lucid's reliability will take more time. (Our 2015 Tesla was on its second battery pack and rear drive unit due to a weld failure, its second MCU, its second charger cable, and its fourth driver door handle mechanism.)
Lucid is the Apple of EV’s.
I hope the two companies join forces to take EV adoption to the next level.
Would you get this Lucid Air over the Tesla Model S? Let me know your answer by replying to this comment!

Lucid in a heartbeat over any car much less the poorly thought out and worse put together Tesla.
@@blakespringpasturemortimer9168 your forthrightness is most admirable and eminently useful.
