Some brutal feedback man !!
You give your heart out when you go about to explain something or teach about a technique or a cut. But somewhere I feel you leave the cut half way there. Some finer touches around the forehead area/hair line, for example in this case, would've been great.
At the end of the day, we like the hair to come about the desired shape without any products or gels. And you of all people, or of the very few people, can really accomplish that. And then the last bit, the hair is all about making the face look good. So, other finer aspects may have a place, but this one is the key driver I believe.
May be that's the next level that's waiting out for you ..
