What is Spotify actually creating and adding to the world? When creators time is not appreciated especially when making billions out of artists, you should be boycotted. #boycottspotify ;)

You never get time back, all good content takes time.

Welcome to the world of modern day technocrats. Content is a general filler word. You got a big warehouse but no stuff. Now you need stuff (content) to sell. Netflix sees filmmakers in that way. Just stuff on a shelf to sell. On those modern day technocrats - I´m just glad that their world domination plans are in apps not in Europe like they were last century. Let them have that feeling of great importance. Artists get their kick out of creation, happy clients and loyal art enthusiasts.
And maybe artists should focus more on building relationships with enjoyers directly and give them options outside of established distribution methods.

Is this headline true? It has been floating around the Nashville Songwriters group on Facebook.
"Spotify's CEO Daniel Ek is worth $3.8 billion. He sells music others create and pays them virtually nothing. He is 3 times richer than Paul McCartney."

Some people dedicate their lives to creating their art and I wouldn't say that costs close to zero, nor would I say it's of low value because they did it without spending tens of thousands of dollars.

I've never used it myself except to try it. Always found the sound quality terrible.

I don't care about getting money from most popular streaming services, I always spend on digital distributions and other things more than actual payouts. In reality we need to spend more money on promotions, custom campaigns, vinyls copies, than receiving money from labels you are signed or distributors. The best thing about it is, artworks are not paid when you making own from scratch or using simple AI. If you guys really looking for making more money than spending money on that staff, I assume you should do Livestream sessions or broadcasting to be more popular ❤

For an amateur musician you're right but for the professional musician who make a living out of releasing and performing music it's a disaster

"the cost of creating content being close to zero", Hmmm. It's a bit like taking the Mona Lisa and saying, "Yeah, some canvas, a few tacks, 4 pieces of timber, assorted oil paint.. about fifty quid!"

Hellooo! What do you think about Daniel's approach to music and "content"? And, ultimately: what do you think about my rant? :D

Well, the man's obvoiusly out of touch if he thinks artists' work is "close to zero" in cost.
I have no interest in supporting Spotify because the service they provide is sub standard and they have treated the artists terribly for years.
All of the streaming services have, but at least some of them provide a better service.
Thanks for what you do, man. One of the best on YT.

Daniel isn't a problem. He's a symptom. PEOPLE create noise. For me, it feels like true artist are living an impossible life that you would not recommend to anybody. Because most people DON'T need art. Art does not sells good. Content do. And who's buying? You know.

The cost for Spotify to get content is close to zero. The business model should need to be, from the viewpoint of copyright laws & creators survival, that Spotify has to pay all creators to be able to use the art to attract listeners/subscribers, instead of just paying the creators cap streams.

The oblivion noise existing on Spotify does not support art that is talked about hundred of years from now, it is focusing on imprints/samples of a distorted capitalistic viewpoint of what art has become from a monetising aspect. Playlists are more important than the art in itself, number of individual monthly listeners is more important than the quality of the art in itself etc.

Sorry, you are arguing against a strawman and not thinking outside your predetermined conclusion. Take what he said at face value, think about it, and make a new video.
