    Really appreciate this content. I would like if you would also show spots where you either fold pre-flop or on the check/fold on the flop in situations where you think a lot of 1/2 players would normally call or raise. Yeah the big hands are nice, but the content I'm looking for is spots that you often think are misplayed by regs/rec players and why you took the line you did.

    Great video! I liked the topic you covered about showing vs being a rules nit. I totally agree that in a live game your bb/hour is greatly increased by playing friendly and sweet with the fellow fish on a table. Showing headsup, playing along with a straddle, and chopping, are all -EV online, but we aren’t playing online at the casino. By playing along with these things on the table, I will often see a fish reload an extra time or two instead of shove-leaving. The fish just want to have fun playing poker, and as frequent fliers, its our job to provide that for them. (While taking our +EV fee ofc)

    A7s hand: Your $100 Call on the Turn is wrong. At that point you’re risking $130 total to win $212 profit, which is only 1.6x your $130-investment. You would need to profit at least $260 at that point to make that a reasonable Call, but even that would gambling until your profit is over $260 there. Calling there is giving your oppo a better investment & you’re hoping to get lucky.

    I’m kinda mixed on the showing early thing. Information is important. I wouldn’t take it to the degree of forcing someone to show or muck though. If they start being sheepish or announce they missed/ace high, etc. fine to roll it over and move on rather than wasting time, and knowing they shipped light vs getting coolered is info enough. Also if you flop the nuts I think showing right away is fine. Obviously this only goes for calling all-in. If you make the bet I’m a fan of just showing right away in all spots since you’re supposed to anyway.
    Curious if this also more of a consideration in smaller games or if you feel similarly in bigger games too.

  • @wesch6354
    @wesch6354 Год назад

    Okay I had to pause here at 15:06. You have KhQs. The flop is QdQh8d. Both check and you decide to c bet 35. In this situation more often than not I also check. I know another diamond could come and give a villain a flush. BUT if it is say an As. Then one of the villains leads into the pot. You have them right where you want them and stand to win stacks. I know gto and all the books and poker coaching sites say you should bet there. But why? When you flop a set something like 75-80% of the time that set is still going to be good at showdown. If it's obvious a bet is going to get both opponents to fold then why bet in that spot? This is a concept I still have trouble wrapping my head around.

    • @YungCoochieEater4000
      @YungCoochieEater4000 Год назад

      Afaik, as preflop raiser on the button a standard c bet frequency can look like around 60-70%. Given board texture, two players behind, a bet here seems to make sense for that given frequency. checking behind and raising the turn is very suspicious on paired board so i think better to protect against draws and maximize value on pocket pairs and overpairs on the flop, although as always, it depends. fyi that hand was trips, not a set (set is when you have pocket pair and you hit)

  • @CLGilbert
    @CLGilbert 2 года назад +1

    I don't agree with showing first here. This is a player that took an aggressive action and you also don't have any info on them. I need to see that hand! I'll push my covered cards forward and look at them. If they start doing the head roll or they say they missed or some such then sure I'll go ahead and show first. But I'm not just auto-showing...

    Great video. the A7 suited hand should've been a turn fold. You had 12 outs which doesn't justify calling a $100 bet on a wet board. In the KQ offsuit hand, his turn bet was quite large for a 1/2 game at $100. At this point, I would have folded because he probably had at least two pair. Your only hope wouldn't have been to go all in on the river when he checked over to you. Just my thoughts!

      Against villains perceived range (in this specific spot, a middling J) he needed approx 2:1 to make the turn-call breakeven. He was getting 2.4:1. I don't hate it.
      14 outs (opposed to 12). Any A, any 7, any diamond. Around 30% equity.
      7s 7h 2d 4d 5d 6d 8d 9d Td Qd Kd Ac As Ah
      As for the KQ, super-aggro villain taken into consideration, it's fairly standard. If you are folding all turn bets (lets say pot) with TPGK to a super-agro you may be folding too much. That being said I am going solely off of OP's narrative/perception here, so who knows.

    Disagree with not playing by the rules and showing first as the caller.
    1. You’re denying yourself valuable info on how they play when you don’t see the bettor’s cards
    2. You’re voluntarily giving up info on how you play (if KK had been 2nd best you could muck w/o showing
    3. You’re NOtT forcing them to show; they can just muck.
    4- if they muck then you don’t have to show (see 2 above)
    5. Slow roll? Don’t cater to stupid attitudes, KK was not the nuts
    6. Taking up time? Where I play the bettor who doesn’t want to show hesitates for maybe 2 seconds max, realizes they have to do the right thing, and shows or mucks.
    For me, there’s no way all the benefits of 1-5 above are outweighed by any theoretical time savings.
    As far as I’m concerned any called bettor who doesn’t want to show is angling. Let’s not encourage that.

I am NOT ok with you not making the V show his hand first.
