It's great to see this come to life again. It brings back soo many memories of school back in the day and around Taree. No salts, caffeine or alcohol... way that's going to be a challenging month!! Enjoy the US trip 👍
Congratulations Steve🥳 You are very talented. I have & are truly enjoying watching your RUclips channel. All of that detail & hard work 😓 you have put into the bus & sharing it has been really enjoyable. The work has been so intricate. I’ve loved the entertainment along the way from the, “Choice Swear Words,” different paints, sugar soap wipes to even the, “Mid-Century Cocktail Lounge Music.” You’ve really done a spectacular job! In primary school we would go on the Horizons West double decker so the blue interior colour came flooding back to me! I remember you from your Perth days. It’s not quite the same without you on the airwaves over here. You even started riding a moped because fuel went up I remember you saying on the radio one time & you always mentioned your dog, (I think was named Jessie?) So glad I came across you again. You’re an absolute trooper. Can’t wait for more! All Best, Shelley 😊
Wow Steve !! you have so, so much patience. Excellent job, and great entertainment watching you restore the "ol girl", you are a funny fella. Cant wait for the bus to visit Taree, oh,,, and you too ofcourse.
What an amazing transformation. I've really enjoyed being along for the journey and look forward to whatever you choose to share with us next. I wouldnt mind having a look around your XB - looks like a BEAST!
What can I say, absolutely fantastic? Very elegant and befitting soundtrack for the walk around of the final result. Someone mentioned years ago there should be some ex PTC Atlanteans restored into subsequent operator's liveries as they had them far longer than the PTC / UTA did, and you have done it! It would be great to see it participate in a running day along with the blue govvie restored Atlanteans. It will look like a queen lol. Congratulations on this accomplishment and it was a most enjoyable online journey, masterfully compiled on your channel.
Marvellous! And greetings from Littlehampton on England's south coast. So, Thank-you! for the call-out and bio! What fun you've had! My life has also had its trips and troubles. As a bus nut and former Cray Valley Techical High School for Boys pupil I too love working with my hands. But you ability to finish things outdoes almost, I expect, all of us. Well done cobber!
What an awesome job you have done Steve! That’s true dedication of achieving what you have in 21 weeks. I’ve got to say I’ve listened to you on WS for a while but had no idea of your channel until you mentioned to check it out one arvo. I’m hooked. Really enjoying your channel. Cheers!
Well done Steve it's a great job all round and the sign writing particulary on the rear of the bus with the colour change's and 3d effect ,plus hearing what got you into doing Buses .
I always look forward each week watching all the updates and new vids. Really good seeing where she started to where it is now. You have been giving me motivation to keep working on my old E38.
That music will be going round in my head all night. Well done to you as you say it may not be perfect but it's better than just rotting away in a field. If you get a chance take a look at Joby Carter signwriter, fair ground signwriter from the UK.
Amazed how you’ve been doing all this restoration work on your own, and a really interesting record of your efforts. As a UK resident (Scotland, these days) I’ve observed some fantastic bus restorations (does the name Mike Sutcliffe mean anything to you?), but most haven’t been solo efforts!
Woohoo Steve she looks absolutely fantastic, from the mess in Lightning Ridge to now is a huge credit to you! I can't wait to see her when she comes back to her hometown. Maybe you could of popped the engine door off and taken it inside out of the rain to signwrite? Next one haha. Also for the aluminium i find the deoxidiser and then Purple polish both by the same company works a treat. ruclips.net/video/QpIzp5ftl78/видео.html
Don’t slam chafe Steve o, let the revs die between changes. Slamming buggers the brake bands in the epicyclic box. I earned my spurs driving Roe bodied AN68s in Leeds, UK, amazingly, those buggers were geared to 85 is and had spring parking brakes and power steering. Spoilt or what?
I caught an AEC Swift in the 90s and a driver with an English accent mind you, was flat changing it all the way. Wish I got a recording. Should have reported him really but the bus seemed to cope ok.

I loved the 79 XD with the 4.1 fender badges in lieu of the alloy head 80s ones. They look gorgeous restored.
it was a great car, sadly it needed work and I ran out of patience with it!

I probably went to and from school on that bus
Eggins had 5 of them, so chances are good!
