Just placed my order for the MP1X thanks to this comparison. I couldn’t make up my mind at first, but with this video I was able to make a decision…. Thank you sir!
I’m like you I have my share of Veto bags. I needed a smaller bag to work out of, say when on a ladder 🪜 or on a scaffolding. I was just installing some security lights on my house and kept saying to myself I gotta get that bag 😂. I had a pair of wire strippers in one pocket a screwdriver in the other pocket electrical tape in my back pocket and every time I needed one I couldn’t remember what pocket they were in. 😊 Most of the time they were on the ground when they fell off the ladder.

I watched this a couple of times and finally ordered the MPX to use on those days when I'm not in work pants but need to do some work in the shop. The MPX has been a game changer for me! I used to download my gear into my carry bag at the end of each day, now I just set the loaded MPX into my tool bag along with everything else and I'm done. Well done sir!

@@robholland5925 I do like the clip better, even though I’m one of the few it seems that has never had an issue with my button on the original. It’s faster to put on and easier to hang up on stuff when storing. Now that I’ve worn my MP2X enough, I like the height of where the clip sits better too.
@@MORGANSMaintenance talking about the clip. I have seen a video of someone that uses a holstry magnet to clip their mp1x to a breaker panel. So I’m planning on putting a holstery magnet on the tape clip. That way I will have a way of hold a bit or hang my pouch to metal.
I’ve got an MP2 and I love it, it’s right on the limit for as heavy as I’d let it be but I really do love it, I rarely need to go get another tool for a wiring job

My Tech MCT is getting close to being too heavy. I have been adding these pouches so that I don’t have to pack it as much. Is that the one Doc had in last best tool the other day? I haven’t watched it yet, but saw a Fluke Thumbnail.
With the clip they improved the Belt loop(that constantly breaks) I took to a shoe store and they put me 3 rivets since then never let me down...💪 But definitely veto have one of the best toolbags on the market. I own roughly around 10 different ones.I called them LouisViton for Construction 💪💪💪
Great video, will be a lot of help to many looking at these pouches. I prefer my tools to be covered over so have gone down the MB route rather than pouches. Hope the chicken wings were just as good! 👍👍
You did a great job for the community! Thank you for this content! I really appreciate looking at the different bags and you making sense out of them. Especially since I can't find these things in stores.
I can’t get any Veto stuff locally either… it’s always order based on pictures, specs, and hopes 😂 When you spend that much money you want to get it right 👍
@@MORGANSMaintenance ha hopes is right. It's a shame these things are not as expensive as they are supposed to be if made my Americans and er can't have a good business seeking them in stores. Like I know that makes little sense and I'm trying to be fancy taking about economics. Regardless this is the way we have to buy, by making videos and helping each other. Again thank you. 😃
I have the MP2X. My theory was it’s better to have too much space than not enough…. Ideal for me so I can have my everyday setup in there all the time then throw job specific tools in the empty slots when I need to without removing my everyday tools My only annoyance about the bigger one is if you’re in a tight space it can bash around on things which isn’t ideal when it’s a finished surface… I used to hang my impact off it but had to switch back to my holster because of the amount of door frames I was marking whilst walking through 😂
I was going to do the same thing as you originally but the MP2 was always sold out… so my first was the MP1. I have been using the MP2X for the last few months and I really like it for the types of tools I carry, but some things don’t fit as well as the MP1. These are expensive… too expensive… but I’m never mad I bought them while I’m using them.
@@MORGANSMaintenance yeah they are expensive but I think quality is always worth the money. They’re supposed to be products that will last decades but we just go out and buy the new version after a couple years which is what makes it expensive 😂
@rjf2732 I’m the same. I have had my MP1 for years, using it a lot… and it’s still as good as it was the day I bought it. Pouches are a thing that you get muscle memory for reaching your tools. It’s more important to me to get one I like that will last a long time…. Says the guy who has three 😂
I loved my mp1 I had it forever and it hold almost all of my tools I need. Unfortunately it was stolen from me and I’m upgrading to the mp2x. On my MP1 I did use both the loop and flap. It just felt a lot better like it’s glued to me and I barely felt the weight. I’m guessing from the weight being distributed to 2 points
Sr im still deciding on which to buy my edc tools are level, 3 screwdrivers flat, philips and square , lineman, 7” cobras and 8 knipex diagonal cutters which one you think fits the tools the best or can you make a short vid comparing them please
They also just released two newer bigger ones. The MPMX and the MP3X. To get all that (mostly because of the level) I would think you would need the 2x or bigger
I use the TP1L and got it on the spring promo. Other than the snap it's been fine which makes me want kne of thoes clip versions or add a clip to it. One thing I appreciate is when pouches hang low so I can flex move or not take it off to get into the work rig. I do combine all these pouches and accessories with a cabnet makers sidekick left hand( you'll thank me later if your right handed to get the left hand version) for tape and pika pen. I keep the sidekick on no matter what since it never gets in the way but that mpx looks right up my alley small and simple.
I was going to wait until March and see if the MPX might be the promo… if the MP1X is, I might go ahead and get one and get another bag. The older style like my MP1 does kinda “move with you” while bending better than the clip, but I’ve also been using the MP2X which is bigger.. that could be part of it. I looked up the Cabinet Makers and only see right hands… I will keep searching for a lefty 👍
Another thing is that sidekick can handle weight I've hung dewalt cordless framing nailer (modified clip on nailer)from it and it holds up well. Another tip for leather including this when I first get it I dip the leather I'm Murphys soap and rub it in. It's surprising cheap softens and darkens the leather (smells good too).
@@commentsonthetube14 I feel the same way. I like the color scheme of some of the regular veto stuff better sometimes… but the clip is so good I’m pondering buying the MP1x too.
i just got an mp2x and honestly I'm thinking of returning it.. my coworker would say I carry too much, but honestly I'm just used to using a carpenters pouch for my tools and having extra space. I was hoping to use this along side the holstery joey pro / big pro. I could probably get away with using it, i do like it but feel like I could use atleast another screw driver and plier slot. i do love the quality of this veto though... does anyone know if veto makes bigger than the mp2x ?
@@monkeysenshi they have a TP3 and TP4. If you are always going to wear it, I would get one without the “B” on the end. They have a hard bottom and don’t wear well. Main downside to those is you have to wear a belt, the clip won’t clip on your belt. I don’t have a dedicated video for my TP3, but you can see it some in this video and see what I’m talking about with the belt. Will the MPX slide into the veto MB2? I have been looking for a tool organization inside my MB2. Currently I am using the Husky HD00130-TH inside my MB2. It works great. My tools no longer bounce around and stay organized. If the veto MPX fits I think that would work out better. I would be able to pull the MPX out of my MB2 and clip it on my belt. Currently, I do not have the option of clipping on the Husky tool organizer onto my belt.
@@tomacheteful probably not in a slot head down. They would be more likely to fit in a MP1x main slot, it’s a little bigger than the MP2x biggest slot because of the screwdriver pockets. I sometimes put 1/2 the handle of tools like that in my side slot and just let them hang that way. Probably also depends on what crimper you have. I know some of them are more compact. Mine are a decent size
I bought the MP2X as a Maintenace engineer in the dairy business just to have basic 3 wrench size adjustable and screwdrivers but I wish I bough the Mpx cause its too big rather have the small one with a 7 inch pair of Cobra/plierswrench and a 6 in 1
@@Bloodsong0830 yeah it’s always hard to decide. I usually recommend the 1X even though I use the 2x the most. I think the 1X is what will work for most people… then the MPX is perfect for certain people, but way too small for a lot.
@MORGANSMaintenance previous jobs I've had in industrial maintenance I had a cart so I didn't really worry about having tools on me but here we have floor chains that move milk crates from production to the cooler so carts aren't feasible o ended up with the Milwaukee like 3-4 pocket pouch a set of knipex and a screwdriver and the TP-LD for smaller jobs and the LCT for bigger jobs as well as a bucket
So far so good… I had to fix a metal filing cabinet in an office and the grip and strength were exactly what I needed. They are a little pricey, but they are a good “all around” pair.
I ordered the mp2x. Its a great pouch. But i think im going to downsize to the mp1x. The pouch gets a lil heavy after a while. If u load it up and i simply, just dont think i need as much tools on me at one time. If need be i have no problem going to my tool bag and picking up what i need in conjunction with what im holding in the pouch.
I have an MP1, which I'm still fussing with the load for, and _really_ wish I'd bought it a little later. The improved belt clip on the "X" pouches looks really, really good. This video inspired a few questions that might make for interesting future videos. (Or, perhaps, are answered in older videos I haven't watched yet. Feel free to just point/link. :- ) 1) On your workbench in this video, for example at 0:30 in, I can see _four_ different drills/drivers. And at a couple points you hang two of them from the pouch as a demonstration. My question is, what do you use the different tools for? I think the four are: hammer drill, lightweight drill, impact driver, installation driver. I've been wanting to have something smaller than my 12v drill/driver for my everyday bag, and wonder about your preferences or tasks that lead you to choose one over the other, especially the impact driver vs. the installation driver. 2) At a couple of points you mention that you don't carry a tape measure on these pouches. So my question is, where _do_ you carry a measuring tool? It seems pretty fundamental, but then again, you don't need it to fix a leak or change a switch or socket out. Makes sense to not have it on the pouch. But, where do you carry a tape, etc.? I believe you organize your bags and pouches around type of work, so I'm guessing a tape measure is automatic in anything for carpentry, but what about your other bags? (I probably need to watch your truck loadout series, which I skipped because I don't have a truck...) 3) At a couple points you pull out a couple of different Snap-on tools, which surprised me. One of the things I appreciate about your perspective is, you're not cheap, but you're also not using Snap-on and Festool, etc., constantly. You're focused on having high quality tools (Knipex FTW!), but also focused on value for money, and efficient purchasing techniques. But that leads to a question about, how do you decide when it _does_ make sense to buy something that's objectively expensive, like a Snap-on pliers, vs. staying with something a bit less expensive and very nearly as good, e.g. Knipex, vs. buying something that's not cheap crap, but that's also relatively inexpensive, for example, Klein. Stay safe, and have a blessed day!
I don’t mind the loop on the MP1… but I do prefer the clip in the X series now that I’ve used them more. On the 4 drivers.. the main two I use are the 12V Surge and Installation Driver. The other two are 12v Hammer Drill and Regular Impact, they are pretty much my “at home” pair and I use them around the house for a quick grab to not have to go to my truck. I got a deal on them with a free tool, so that’s why I have them. The Surge and Installation Driver are what I typically use for Day to Day… the Surge more so for Service Type Stuff and the Installation Driver for Project type stuff (cabinets, doors, etc). You could really use either one in both places.. but the clutch settings on the Installation Driver make it better for finish type work. I also have the M18 Surge and Hammer Drill which is what I use on bigger jobs. Not that my M12 tools won’t do most of it, mostly for battery life. Because I have the M18 Hammer Drill and the M12 SDS Rotary, I rarely use the M12 Hammer Drill for concrete, usually just a Drill. I’m going to do several replies so I can go back and read your questions.. I can’t remember them 😂
On the Tape Measure.. I carry a little 9’ Dewalt one in my Main Bag for in case I have to measure something for supplies. If I’m working where I know I will need one to work with, I carry one in my pocket or my tool vest that I’ve put a Nohlster Clip on.. it never falls out and I really like it. If I have space on my pouch I can clip it there, but I don’t typically keep one there. It’s something I get out as I need it.
Those Snap On Pliers I bought are the only Snap On tools I own. They are the only one who currently makes them, and that’s the only reason I decided to go ahead and buy them. Harbor Freight is coming out with their version sometime this year, but I will likely never be able to get them at mine when they do. On when I spend more money… there are certain tools that it is the only option (like the Snap-On). I also have a Festool Vacuum, but that’s because at the time.. there weren’t many HEPA vacuums on the market. (I also got a good deal on it) Then there are some when, if it’s a brand I prefer because of quality (like Knipex) and the next step down is a brand I might like, but not 50-75% less, then I go ahead and spend more money. What happens typically if I buy the cheaper, I still end up buying the Knipex because I wonder if it’s better… I just go ahead and buy the one I know I will end up with instead of buying two pairs… the cheaper and the Knipex. If there is a tool I know I want… I never buy the cheaper for that reason. I know myself to well by now 😂 The main thing that goes into my decision… The only times I really buy cheaper tools is if it’s something I think I won’t use very often and the flip of that is I pay more money for something if I feel like it’s going to get used often. A good example of this is a transfer pump. I could have spent $300 and got a Milwaukee one, but I only use it maybe once or twice a year.. so I bought the Ryobi. I don’t have to worry about the Maintenance of it as much, I can probably buy three of them for the price of a Milwaukee over time. Another would be my Stabila Digital Levels. Very expensive… but I use them all the time. Their accuracy makes the difference of my work turning out good or exceptional. If I use them, it makes my job easier. Those are not tools that I would even think about not buying the best option that I could afford. That’s typically my advice to anyone.. but the best quality tool you can afford…. And take care of them. That’s how you end up with a really good tool collection. You can’t end up with all the tools you might want if you have to keep buying the same 10 tools over and over because they aren’t quality or you don’t take care of them. I tell people it’s something you do over time too.. most people can’t afford to get “All the Quality tools” Day one. I do typically only buy my tools when I get some sort of a deal on them. So I usually get my higher quality tools at the price point of the next tier down. All my Milwaukee tools after free batteries/tools and selling some, etc… I probably got most of them at Ryobi prices. That is what allows me to buy so many quality tools. Hope all that makes sense
Nice comparison. I like the idea of these but the weight of the pouch itself and a weight of a couple pliers on the bigger ones seem like it'll be ridiculous and really unbalanced all sticking on one side. Personally i use the Occidental pocket caddy, all leather and fits about as much as the mp1, but without a tape clip or any if those tiny pockets. I actually stick it in my back pocket since I wear overalls at work, and it works pretty damn well since the pouch pocket closest to your body is actually the part that slides into your pocket, so the weight of whatever you have in there keeps the pouch seated nicely in your pocket and against you. It's a tight squeeze sometimes getting everything I need into there but might actually be a good thing since it limits the weight. Anything more than what you can fit in there and you're probably better off wearing a tool belt and distributing the weight over your whole body rather than one side at the hips.
The MP1 and MPX are very light, I’ve honestly never even felt like I had any serious weight on me. (All that may depend on the tools you carry) The MP2X doesn’t necessarily feel heavy, but it does stick out more making it feel more noticeable. I have an occidental pouch I use for drywall and flooring and really like it. I may have to look up yours and check it out.
I have been wanting one of these. But I have had a mb3 for years and I just can’t justify the cost difference for something that really doesn’t offer as much. I really do like the pocket flap though.
I wear a pouch with probably 90% of my work. I use it more than my bags really…. But I do agree, the price point is a bit steep. They are the best pouches I’ve used for tools in/out though.
@@MORGANSMaintenance same. I just use the 3b like a pouch Or a Toughbuilt pouch. If I knew for sure I could cram a meter in one of these I would definitely do it just for the pocket flap and kickstand.
@Summitperry it depends on what meter… but very few would fit. None on mine will. It would have to be a smaller/skinny type I haven’t had one, but the Toughbuilts look hard to beat for the price.
@@MORGANSMaintenance the Toughbuilt is definitely worth the try for the price. 100% not veto but the clip tech thing is pretty nice. And they last decent.
In your experience, do the pockets tend to stretch much in these. I bought the mp1x and was disappointed my voltage detector wouldn’t fit in the front pockets. It looks like yours fits pretty easily.
They do, they will eventually form to it… if you can get it in there to start with. Most my testers fit… the Kleins are the only ones that are really too big that I’ve tried.
I have the Milwaukee and can’t even really get it in there all the way. Wondering if the pockets are smaller on the MP1X than they were on the MP1. Think I may return it and get the MP2X. Thanks for the videos!
@@toddharmon2976 they might slightly be, I have had the older Milwaukee tester in my MP1. The one I had is very similar in size than the Fluke I used in the video. I know my Fluke has been in there for awhile and now fits like a glove, but it was tight when I first started using it.
Nice comparison video, very useful in helping with a purchase decision. If I had a criticism, it would be that you are misusing the small pockets for demonstration purposes.
@@SamsungGalaxyFlagship 👍.. there are a thousand different ways you can load them out. Some people use the small pockets on all their bags differently. I’ve even had some say they can’t stand that put pencils in them when they have clips and waste the space 😂 They think you should clip them in the pocket and put something else there like I did the fastback. All I can do is put random things and hope it helps people imagine their tools and setup to decide if it will fit. As always I appreciate the feedback, helps me get better 👍👍

Yeah Aprons and Vest will ride up occasionally, especially with certain shirts it seems and depending on the work. Hard to find things to work with you comfortably when you move a lot.
I don’t have a fancy way of checking, but I will see if o can get an idea when I get home. It will obviously depend on which tools you put in, but it will govern you an idea. I can’t imagine it’s crazy different.

Then I can take the magnet off the tape clip and put the magnet to metal and the clip the pouch on the back clip of the magnet.
I’d be curious to see a comparison between these and the toughbuilt pouches and clips.

I have the MP2X. My theory was it’s better to have too much space than not enough…. Ideal for me so I can have my everyday setup in there all the time then throw job specific tools in the empty slots when I need to without removing my everyday tools
My only annoyance about the bigger one is if you’re in a tight space it can bash around on things which isn’t ideal when it’s a finished surface… I used to hang my impact off it but had to switch back to my holster because of the amount of door frames I was marking whilst walking through 😂

Will the MPX slide into the veto MB2? I have been looking for a tool organization inside my MB2. Currently I am using the Husky HD00130-TH inside my MB2. It works great. @@tomacheteful probably not in a slot head down. They would be more likely to fit in a MP1x main slot, it’s a little bigger than the MP2x biggest slot because of the screwdriver pockets.

Where did you get that Klein Tool cup/tumbler in the back?
I got it off eBay… it’s not something they sold in stores. It was a promotional item
1) On your workbench in this video, for example at 0:30 in, I can see _four_ different drills/drivers.
(I probably need to watch your truck loadout series, which I skipped because I don't have a truck...)
3) At a couple points you pull out a couple of different Snap-on tools, which surprised me.
(I also got a good deal on it)
Then there are some when, if it’s a brand I prefer because of quality (like Knipex) and the next step down is a brand I might like, but not 50-75% less, then I go ahead and spend more money.
I know myself to well by now 😂
The main thing that goes into my decision… The only times I really buy cheaper tools is if it’s something I think I won’t use very often and the flip of that is I pay more money for something if I feel like it’s going to get used often.
(All that may depend on the tools you carry)
The MP2X doesn’t necessarily feel heavy, but it does stick out more making it feel more noticeable.
