Yeh when it comes to toughest eagles players of all time (I mean pure toughness, forget the flashy stuff), I rank Woosha #1, Beau Waters #2. Beau is beloved for all he did for us (and the only player with the balls to confront Barry Hall 😂).
For one of the highest marks of all time watch out for Michael Mitchell Subi vs Claremont. But did he control the ball... doesn't matter it was paid. Of course Mitchell played at Richmond and retired prematurely.
Waterman was always good. But he played up the ground and sometimes his decision making by foot was poor. I reckon that's why he'd be in and out of the side. When Allen comes back, you'll see Waterman pushing up the ground with B Williams and Allen in the forward 50. It will be interesting and will the three big bodies plus Darling get in th way.
How about David Hart in defence. He was the original backpacker. A former rover at WAFL level that was a star for the Eagles. McIntosh was just a superb athlete at the Eagles. Could have play defence or forward. Probably the best full back at the Eagles as he stopped the Pluggers the Yabletts and Dunstalls... Laidley and Waterman good at half back. Everyone knows about Woosha and Bluey McKenna.
