Great video Eric amazing experience I know first hand!
Last January was my first time in Maui and we rented a kayak that we took out every morning from Kihei. One of the mornings we heard the sounds of a whale and her calf but couldn’t see them anywhere… until we looked under our kayak! The calf was just hovering maybe about 20’ under us while the mom was in the distance I took the opportunity of putting on my snorkel gear and jumping in and man was it intimidating at first even though it was just a calf it’s still one humongous animal! Amazing experience 🙏

We got to see them up close on April 6th, morning. Saw 7 breaches, several flipped slaps and heard the males singing. When came right under our raft. We all got emotional seeing them. God has created so much for use to connect with in nature. Love it .

Wow!..what a blessed Birthday gift Eric!👍 I can totally relate to how you were feeling. I've been blessed as well to have a couple encounters with whales. But my first was the most memorable, as a caretaker for a day. I had the pleasure of getting next an Orca mama and baby. As I gently put my hand on her back, I felt such emotional joy come over me. I started speaking to mama Kahana and she spoke back. Even the baby chimed in. I was So excited. The caretaker told me: That's amazing! mama and baby must feel a connection with you because they're never vocal with anyone else except their caretakers. 😊🐬💕

Haha this was the reason I moved to Hawaii, I’m doing paddle board classes, and scuba because I always wanted to swim with the whales in dolphins. This is amazing! Truly amazing and gives me more want to get out there ASAP
